Good point on the rent due. I was trying get there at the end of October but it didn't work out. I'll be there next week and now probably at the end of November too. They'll be trying to be getting rent together and money to head home for the holidays. The last week of November could be prime time. We'll see.

No, what I meant is what, who and or where is this Reynosa place and what is the mongering there like? Prices, girls, bars, street girls, options and all that sort of stuff. Pls elaborate.

Actually, SG's are not the ones most afflicted with rent problems at the end of the month. SG action is usually good enough for most to avoid that problem. The local SG's (some) have husbands, boyfriends, padrotes etc. and you won't find many hustling for "rent money."

The Rent money issues come up mostly with the walkers, and even then it's AFTER the end of the month when they are late. That's when they are ready to deal. The walkers pay rent weekly, not monthly for the most part, with rent due on Monday. That makes Sunday the day for discounts, but with walkers.

You'd be surprised how well some of the girls manage their money.

None of this means that there are not better negotiating opportunities towards the end of the month, we all want to beat last months numbers for example. So appeal to their sense of greed, not their desperation to pay the rent.

How does Country John, a gringo know this? My girlie's sister manages an apartment building a few doors down from Chicago club. You'd be surprised how many walkers live there. I met many of them and even a few I sessioned over the years. Turns out many are very cool chicas who'd much rather be doing something else with their life.

If you're in South Texas, it is worth checking out, but I don't think it is worth making a trip if you're not in the area. There's one large bar called Lipstick where the girls get upward of $150 for an Adelitas type stunner. The smaller places are less, but so is the quality of the girl. There are lots of door girls -- like the street girls in TJ -- that will do you in their rooms starting at $15. And like the TJ street girls you have to negotiate for extras making a session be in the $30 ballpark.

BTW I haven't been there in December. I know alot of girls go home for much of the month of December and into January. Is it worth it? Should I stay home and save money?

Depends on how many hurdles (air connections) it takes to get from where you are to TJ. Expect upwards of 70% of the chica population to be in South Mexico. Historically some take the vacation early and return before Xmas, others wait until January.

Depends also on how picky you are. I've never failed to find chicas in December or January but the selection is way down.

If you are used to seeing particular girls you might notice quite a few faces missing at Christmas. The Zona will not be empty, that's for sure.

Many girls who work the clubs are from San Diego and will enjoy the open floor while many of the girls in the Alley live in TJ and have family there. You shouldn't see a huge drop in availability.

Now if you frequesnt places like Rio Verde, none of the above applies. They are mostly all local girls but then again, it's more of a "locals" club.

While at HK last time I got a drink and a ficha for the gal I was with, when the waiter comes back with my change I counted it and it was a buck short. I called it to his attention and he started in like he didn't know what I was saying. I then repeated in Spanish, which surprised him. I counted it out in front of him and he positioned himself so I had to turn my head up as I talked to him. For some reason, I’d like to say I could see it coming but I think I was just lucky, I knew something was a miss and instead of looking at him to talk, I glanced down to see him slipping a buck on my lap. I caught him red handed and told him so, then he had the nerve to try to tell me I was mistaken and it was there all along. As my gal said, "Cuidado con los mercerdos, son ratas." Be careful with the waiters, they're rats.

Count your change and watch for their distractions.

Yeah. Heads up big time people. Times are slow in TJ and have been for some time. It's going to get worse so these guys are going to ramp up their scams; they have families to feed too. They're doing this in civilian clubs too, so it's not restricted to the Zona. Count your change. Good advice.

Got down to TJ for one of my 4 times a year visits. After clearing the turnstile, I walked down to the bus station area and got in line for a Taxi Libre.

Entered the cab and told the guy to take me to Adelita's and he responded: $5. I told him to use the meter, which usually comes up to about $33(mexican) and maybe I would give him $4 total as a tip. He said no, $5. I got out of the cab.

The dispatcher came over and asked me what my problem was. I said "$5 to Adelita's, since when?" Oh, Senor, it is now $5. The next driver in line said, well, how about $4. I responded that the driver said no to $4, so screw you, I'll walk over to Yellow Cab. Driver #2 said "Get in".

Before I did, I told the dispatcher he was being stupid over $1. I asked if he ever wondered how all us Gringos know to walk over here? It's the internet. But as soon as I get home, I'm going to post that Taxi Libre from now on is going to be the same $5 or more that Yellow Cab charges, and if we are going to get f*cked every time we cross the border, well Yellow Cab is a shorter walk to get f*cked.

Hold the line, guys. There is just so much Mexishit we should have to put up with! Next they'll start charging us for condoms............

I no longer bother with the Libres and just grab a yellow. Not from the main lot but across the street North of McDonalds as you exit the turnstiles to the right rather than those straight ahead by the taco stands.

They have never tried to up it beyond $5 or ask for a tip. Cars are larger and more comfortable. Drivers are not as insane.

What's $2 more when we buy chica drinks for $8 ($9 with tip)and end up dropping $150 or so in a night.

After reading some of the great posts here, I decided to check out La Perla. I headed in and was quickly seated, the menu was quite easy to navigate and the waitress was very attentive. I ordered a dos equis and some carne asada tacos, they were out shortly and were very filling and tasty. There were some tv’s with a soccer match on and there was a house band on stage playing music, very nice. Over all a great place to stop in and get some great food for a great price (I can’t recall what I paid but it wasn’t much). The corner taco stands are a great spot to fill the gut too but if you want to grab a seat somewhere, La Perla is not bad at all. Looking from Adelitas it is across the street and to the left on the corner.

Thanks to all who post great info here, it has made my experiences in tj all the more fruitful and enjoyable. You guys are a generous and helpful lot!
