and in dr many of these ladies are nice, friendly, great company. if they steal from me it is generally because they effing well need the $$$$. i do not debate why but they need it more than i and i forgive them whatever their post, in this game of life.
i tend to agree with this. most of these girls have (young) children. do you know how much a packet of pampers costs in the dr? about us$40. obviously we are taking about an expensive type of disposable [CodeWord132], but then again do these girls or their baby sitters really want to deal with their children wetting the bed every night while they are with mongers earning money to buy [CodeWord131] or nido milk, or toys, or school supplies.
i am very suspicious of these amateur social scientists who appear on the board and tell us that precisely 85% are hooking to support pimps or drug habits. this may even be true. who am i to belittle someone else's research? at the very least someone believes he has discovered something important and insightful that is worth sharing.
but if a girl says she will stay all night and then says she has to leave at 6:00 in the morning, isn't it at least possible that she has to relieve a baby sitter who had another job to go to, as opposed to paying her pimp or feeding her drug habit? how can you ever be really sure, no matter how much you have read about the percentage that support pimps and drug habits?
but surely it is better to err on the side of generosity in your personal dealings with the women you have sex with. i don't advocate a "save a hoe" mentality, because experience tells me that you can never change the course in life that a person has chosen and become comfortable with, but one can be realistic without becoming emotionally involved.

there are so many gringos that send $100-$200 a month via western union and are heart broken that there so call "girlfriend" is still hooking in classicos or hooking on the side. they ask there selfs $100-$200 should be enough for pampers and baby whipes? why is she still hooking? well its never enough for her true lover that still send them to classicos, because he needs a new bike,
like i said watch the movie "casino" its a perfect example of what i'm talking about. robert de niro wifed up a hooker and gave her the world, bought her anything she wanted but it was never enough for her, at the end of the day, every red cent she got from him went to her real boyfriend / pimp.
use your head guys don't fall for the trap.
7 days locked up in NG prison, or NG heaven?
Sounds like things started out well for you. Could that be the same Marlene that was gone forever and a day to Panama? If so, she is a real sweetie. If not, would you recommend this other Marlene?
Looking forward to the rest of the reports!
Tomjackin', The girl Kieth is referring to is a long time NG girl, I don't think the "Marlene" you are referring to is the same girl but it is possible. I have known her for quite some time, her real name is Gabriella. The last time I was at NG she wasn't around and I was told that she was in Spain. Gabriella is a cool chick and I've partied with her many times but never banged her, she's not my type so I couldn't recommend her, huge tits, BIG ass. Sounds like she took Kieth for a nice ride though.

Stealing
This is an interesting topic what do you do if a chick steals from you. How should you feel about it? I was in Rio a few years back. I met this hot little chick in Help and ended spending a day with her. On the first night after I bang her and take a shower I said let's go get something to eat but when I reach in my pants I notice that about 1, 500 in pesos are missing. You know how you look around the room thinking you are going crazy and maybe put it somewhere by mistake. Anyway, the chick is just sitting there looking at me going crazy. So, I let it go and we go out and get drinks, but my radar is up because I do not want to accuse her. Come back to the apartment have another great session and my radar is down and everything seems cool. I go to take a shower I get in but I get out quickly to get my proactive face wash out my bag. As I walk out the shower, this girl I am with is butt naked on her knees going through my pants pocket with my wallet in her hand. I wanted to kill her ass, but I knew I was in a foreign country and would be in jail if I touched her.
My point is I grew up poor, but I knew right from wrong where I am from you steal from someone it could be fatal. It just never feels good for me when someone steals from me. I hate that I have to watch someone because they might take from me. I would rather just kick them to the curb. That is why I am never cheap with a girl because I do not want any excuse for her to feel that she should steal from me to make up for me being cheap.
Like I said Watch the Movie "CASINO" Its a perfect example of what I'm talking about. Use your head guys don't fall for the trap.
Yes, but "CASINO" is not set in the Dominican culture, so how relevant is it?
Like you I have lived in the DR for a year or more and like you (presumably) I am fairly fluent in Spanish and this is what I hear: Invariably the girls get seduced at about 16 or 17 by some married guy who fucks them four times, gets them pregnant, and leaves the scene leaving them holding the baby.
As a result of this, the only work they can get that makes any real money which they can combine with childcare is selling sex to tourists. They don't have Dominican boyfriends because DOMINICAN GUYS DON'T WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH CONDOMS, and the girls don't want to get pregnant again as one child is quite enough for them to take care of, never mind another one. (Of course some of the girls take the birth control pill, but not all.)
Of course as these girls and their families are living hand-to-mouth and always a day away from eviction, having the power cut off, losing their cell phone contract, etc, there is a tremendous amount of borrowing and lending going on and this includes brothers, cousins, uncles, and yes, boyfriends and drug dealers too. It is quite complicated to sort out who is who.
Probably the truth is that they tell me what they think I want to hear and they tell you what they think you want to hear, and the truth falls somewhere in the middle, but I do think your figure of 85% supporting boyfriend / pimps and / or drug habits is too high.

We don't need to examine every word to get his meaning.
If we all did this, we could ask you how you think every girl was fucked EXACTLY four times in your post above. We could ask where you got that figure from. And we could ask for a complete investigation regarding your comment. But WE all understand the point you were making and see no issue with it. Sometimes you tilt things to make an argument.

On the money
On the mony frannie. These girls are not welfare queens. They have to support any child they bring into the world. The age and pathology you described is exactly what I have witnessed in my travels. I have known many chicas who claim the hate Dominican men.

We are strangers
We are dealing with people who we can not give the benefit of the doubt. Some are so poor that honesty is a luxory they can not afford. So never place your self in a position where they can hurt you. Stealing in some quarters is a survival tactic. Always remember we are dealing with strangers.

When someone says: "Hey guys, I have discovered a secret that I want to share with you. 85% of the girls in Sosua." it makes it sound like this is an attempt at a very precise number. 85% is not just an approximation like saying "more than half" or "about three quarters", or "nearly all." For all I know he might have read a research article on Dominican prostitution that he failed to mention. After all the author lived in Sosua for a year. If he said: "Hey guys, I lived in Sosua for a year, and one thing that really surprised me was that I found out that far more girls than I would have thought were financially supporting Dominican guys or drug habits." and explained how he found out, that would have a lot more credibility.
No, fucked four times is not very precise, (it is a throwaway joke line, really) , but the point is that by the time she missed her period, he was already gone from the scene. I think I got that line from Frank, who used to run a night club in Puerto Plata, and who said he heard it from many of the girls he hired at the club. There was actually one girl there who they called "the virgin" who had only had sex two times in her life before she turned pro to support her child. After that I followed up myself and several girls that I knew told me a similar story.
Incidentally, it may be that we all create our own statistics with our own chica selections. For example if really skinny girls are what turn you on, you might easily come to the eventual conclusion that the vast majority are drug addicts or HIV positive. If you are a heavy drinker, you may end up with more girls who drink heavily, if you are a smoker you may end up with more girls who smoke, and so on.
Anyway, I am always interested in hearing interesting information about the prostitution scene in the DR, and if people have good or interesting information, they should not be afraid to write about it. For example, if a large majority of the girls in Sosua do in fact have Dominican boyfriends they financially support, are they also taking birth control pills? This would be an interesting fact that might support the theory. Are there any differences in the Haitian population versus the Dominican population re supporting men or drug addiction?

I should have locked all my stuff up, but I got to relaxed. Lesson learned, I will never assume someone will not steal from me on vacation.

Just out of curiosity, I wonder what the typical career span for a working girl in the DR is. Any of you guys who have been sniffing around Sosua for a decade or more (no insult intended off course) seen any of the girls last say more than 5 years or is the turnover pretty short? I know from my past experiences hanging around street people off all sorts of "professions" in North America (I used to have bad habits) that they wear out fairly fast, but this is due to the hight rate of coke addiction among the street walkers. The couple of times I was in Sosua, there didn't seem to be many walking corpses around. Although that is understandable as the competition seems fierce.
-
Frannie I never thought about it, but you are so right I cannot tell you how many chicks I have met in the DR with one kid. They may be anywhere from 18 to 25, but a lot of them have just one kid. I always wondered why that was, but you just broke it down for me. Of course, the guy is long gone. I have asked a lot of the women what happen to the father and they just say no he does nothing for the kid. He provides no support and they are on their own to make ends meet.
Most of the guys here know what these girls are about, we know that most of the time we are getting sloppy seconds but at least we have the balls to admit it, you on the other hand are living some far out fantasy that those Badoo and Hi5 girls you chase all over the countryside are jumping your bones for a $5. Tee shirt and then going home to mommy to await your return in two months. I've got news for you, they are in the club the night after your plane departs drinking and partying with her new tee shirt and wiping her cum filled mouth with it.
Is that so? Coming from you, who predominantly stays only in puerto plata and sosua, how would you know how women are in other parts of the DR?
I would never try to insult the Colombiana you allegedly impregnated and who supposedly had your child. You posted that you had a DNA test performed. Was that because you knew she was having unprotected sex with other guys or because you thought she was a liar? I believe you also posted that she has requested more money, than you are willing to give her. I believe you posted the amount you say you send her every month to raise your child in Colombia, I believe maybe you said it was $400US per month (correct me if I am wrong). BTW my father never mongered while he was raising his children, he was too busy working two jobs (I don't think he completed 9th grade, he couldn't spell for nothing).
