But it is hard to back peddle on the tip amount when you repeat as you have already set the bar with that particular lady. Any less for the same level of service and IMO you both lose face.

Personally I tip when the service is 'exceptional'. YMMV.

Personally I never tip; some guys do. The service is really the same. Tipping is not what has led to the decrease in service at the oilies. IMHO, the decrease in service has been due to competition for lookers from the scads of oilies that have opened. For the PSE shops to retain even decent looking gals these days they have had to lessen the demands on the gals. The gals know they can go to other more Japanese and Korean oriented shops and get away with providing less. However, now with fewer customers I am seeing more and more shops trying to provide better service. Funny, the gals like Benz from SW and Sandy from Addict are getting 4 customers per day. Many of the cuter gals who are not providing good service actually get less business. Sandy once told me she has tried to coach the gals, but they don't listen to her and then resent her when she is busy. Par for the course in Thailand.
I definitely agree about the "tip once and you are expected to tip again" bit. My visits are infrequent enough that it's not a big problem for me, but I can certainly see it as a problem for the expats.
I wonder when Sandy is coming back. She was way the heck up on my short list: My first call was to Addict. All I got was that she had gone home, or something like that. No return estimate. I'm passing back through in a week and will try again.

Min wage in Thailand is 300 Baht per day. Gals who are moderate lookers and provide good service like Benz average at least 3 sessions per day. The day I had Benz, I was her 5th. If she averages 3 a day, that is 4500 Baht (not including any oily fee she might receive). She takes one day off a week. That's 121,000 Baht per month. That's more than most International School Teachers and more than the majority of expats I know. In fact, that is over 40 K USD per year. That would be a decent salary in the US when you consider she is paying no taxes on it. It is a fortune in Thailand. Do a little research on the average wage. Most MBAs in this country don't make near 121 k Baht per month.
It is her choice what she spends her money on. Do you apply the same standards to gals in your home country (grand parents funeral, sick aunts, etc)? Do you accept the same lines from them? I often wonder why guys throw their standards out the window when they come to Thailand. Many turn into Rescue Ranger and start feeling sorry for the girls. They have made a choice to work in the P4 P industry. Yes, it is a choice. I know quite a few single mothers who have not made that choice. They have worked their way through university, some through Masters degrees, and have taken a different path. I also know gals in the biz and not in the biz who have refused to dole out their hard earned money to parasitic families. This too is a choice. So no, I don't feel sorry for sex workers.
I live here, and have for 16 years, so air tickets and hotels have no bearing on me. What I do look at and what does have a bearing on me is the local economy and 1500 Baht for an hour or two is very good money in Thailand.

She works every day for about two to three months (seeing about 4 customers a day mind you) and then heads home to Chiang Mai (I believe) for three weeks to a month. Addict allows her to do what she wants as she is such an amazing earner for them.

Better escorts charge $300 per hour or 5 times the daily wage. Same same actually.
