When I pay my bill at New Garden, I can / should pay in US$?
What is the biggest denomination of US$ that I should bring that will be accepted for a) hotel payment be) peso exchange? I assume the bills should be in pristine conditions. Some countries give you a hassle if the bill is worn, torn, or written on.
I pay for my room with $100 US bills. Always received change in dollars. The NG's ISOG cash rate will save you $5-6 a night. D'Piero's does not discount their rooms but provides free airport transfers if you stay the better part of a week. I like to pay for the room up front. That way if things go very bad at least I have a place to sleep. If you are not sure about the motel pay as you go or at the end. The NG and D'Piero's are flexible.
I bring a few extra $100 bills but mostly $50s. Never had problems exchanging them but bills were in decent shape.

Guy with the gray beard
If you go to Morua Mai again, there is a dude there with a gray beard, looks like a biker. He has his own menu, which has Thai and Southern food on it. The food is excellent. Also, ask him when he is making his pumpkin soup: out-fucking-standing!
FYI, The guy with the gray beard is the owner's brother. Great guy to just seat and talk to.

The biker dude is cool as shit, and will make you a great, special order spicy dish. He is also Raphaels brother. I heard Alexandra was going to purchase the supermercardo up on the highway.

No entiendo
Why are guys paying 40 and 50 bucks for cabs when there are clean modern buses that will take you anytwhere in the country for 8 bucks. I use all local transportation and it works well. I save my money for te putas. [
QUOTE=Manizales911; 1279559]Jarmondy, listen to what the dude told you. I am from the Boston area too and the first time I took a bus in the DR I froze my balls off, I would recommend something more than just a long sleeve shirt like a sweater. Of course it depends on the particular bus, I have been on some that weren't that bad but I have also been on some that were ridiculously cold.
SavePros,
If you were the guy sitting in Rockys about 3pm or so on Wednesday, waiting for food, when somebody walked by and asked "how you doing"and you said, cheerily,"fine, how you doing," then that was me coming from the Haitian jack off shack across from New Garden.
See report in the Gogo forum.

I countered blandly that I would much rather do it than drink it which elicited the usual "jejeje". Any idea what that drink is all about?

SS
I was actually there around 4 or 5ish. I didn't make it in to Sosua until around 2:45. Unpacking, getting minutes for my phone, and hitting Playero Supermercado took at least an hour or so.
Holy shit! That is my drink of choice. Does this mean that we are screwdriver brothers?
I guess so, LOL! I even brought my own shaker along on this trip so that I mix it just right! I have to admit that it's probably going to take a while to finish off the whole liter. Was trying to enlist some help but most of my chicas have come semi-inebriated already (I have the 3am vomit on the pillow case and floor (bedside), and bathroom sink to prove it :(. More on that later).

@Tomjackin: I lied, LOL. I was supposed to wait until today to ask for the guy; ended up going back last night and asking for him after you mentioned him. Ordered the fried chicken off the Southern Food menu. Let's just say that I'll probably be eating there every day for the rest of my trip. Asked for the wing sauce to go with the chicken. Had to keep myself from just turning the serving cup up and drinking it! It was that damn good (as was the entire meal) :).
@Gogo: I think I've seen that lady (Alexandra). She definitely makes her presence known and smiles and says hello to everyone who visits the restaurant.
The sun is out and the chicas are on stroll extra early today. Think I am going to head down to the beach and see what I bump into on the way there.
Sex on the Beach is vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry juice and orange juice.
Whoa thanks Tomjackin! You guys are a serious treasure trove for a guy who is essentially lager and occasionally a good red.
Hmm...Peach, cranberry and orange! Wonder what the medley tastes like but as a New-Englander, I am going to support the cranberry bit.
I am also going to try the line: me encanta sex on the beach!! Wonder what would come of that double-entendre... Eh?
