I'm visiting Ho Chi Minh city for the first time ever, from the 2nd to 5th March and was interested in hooking up with someone special. Any pointers or advice as to where I should go to hook up with an upscale local girl? I've also already read on the forum that some hotels don't allow the girls up to the rooms while others do. Which ones do? What are the rates I should expect to pay for ST as well as LT? I've heard that Apocalypse Now and Catwalk are probably the best bet, but do you guys agree?

Why trying to meet anything special? You are there for just a few days, have fun, bar hop, find some professionals to take care of your little boy.
By "upscale local girl," do you mean normal girls? If that's what you mean then you have just too little time for that. You need to stay here for a while.

I suggest that you search through this forum up to at least 3 months. Take notes on everything from prices, where, and what to avoid. Vietnam is unlike the surrounding countries where mongering is easy. The government here is strict on prostitiution and it affects the conducts of local businesses

This is what I would do for first timer. Once there, go to Pham Ngu Lao street, this is the hang out area for mongerers and tourists. Find a bar or cafe, scan around for some season veterans, strike a conversation. Most of the time, they'll be happy to give you good pointers.

If you want upscale then I suggest that you stay at New World where I believe you can pick out girl from Catwalk and take her to hotel via what I understand is a connection on first floor. This is going to cost you US$100 and more for the girl with a million rules. There is an unconfirmed possibility of doing something similar at Renaissance and Club Royal.

The other upmarket possiblity is from girls who hang out at upper level bars of Sheraton and Caravelle. Same level of cost.

Otherwise RTFF for the ins and outs of short time hotels, girl friendly hotels etc etc

Just arrived to HCMC after the heavens of Bangkok and Jakarta, so I'm still very newbie.

I've done RTFF and checked 2 options this Saturday night - so far no luck:

- Gossips: techno joint, I expected to see many freelancers but it was totally crowded by locals with more guys than girls - it has good music, but not the place to meet freelancers;

- Apocalypse Now: seems to have quite a lot of FL's, but this Saturday night was totally packed, you could barely move (with many guys). I'll go back there tomorrow night, hoping for some more space which would allow to at least talk.

The problem is that I stay at the Renaissance, where guests are allowed until 9 pm only. My plan was to meet a FL and make a plan for Sunday afternoon, but that's not going to work. Well, I'm still here for 4 more nights, I'll try again.

Any updated info on FL's would be very welcome. I know that there is the Catwalk, but I want reasonable prices.

A few weeks ago I had dinner at the (very good) Chinese Restaurant on the first floor of the Renaissance and saw some doors and a corridor heading to Club Royal. Speculation is that a punter could make a selection at Club Royal and take her out to Renaissance via this first floor link. They may even have different rules for Club Royal girls.

Your other option is the small hotels on Mac Thi Boui - an adequate room will cost about US$20.

You got any ideas where to go that might be interesting? I'll be going to da nang for a few days and maybe go to hue and then to hoi and then back to hcmc. Da nang seems like a good central point to hit these areas. I think the dark skinned ladies from central are quite appealing to me. Writing this from my hotel in HCMC. Free WiFi in rooms. Been here since Monday. Has been a quiet mongering time. As usual went to my favourite haunts on HBT and adjoining roads.

I must be getting old or laziness has overcome me but couldn't be bothered to take girls out to mini hotels so hav satisfied myslf with BBBJ's in the bars.

Have had two very good experiences in "49". First on Monday night got a '7', soory in not good at remembering names but Ving rings a bell. She gave me an excellent BBBJ/CIM in the back room. Slightly off putting having a guy playing pool just behind me during the deed! Very pleasant and USD 25.

Yesterday didn't partake but tonight went out and did a bit of a survey.

Went into 49 tonight and, honestly, an absolte stunner was next in line. I usually select my own but this girl I couldn't refuse. I felt she was a 9 (YMMV). Pink dress, killer bod with smallish tits. Gave the best BBBJ/CIM I have had in a long time. Very chatty, ok English. Can I remember her name. Not for the life of me! Sorry. Wanted USD 30 but got down to 25 (though I didn't push too hard. Carrying on up HBT there is a bar near the turn towards Caravelle hotel. Not impressed by girls on show and didn't go in. Did a recce of the bars at Caravelle and Sheraton but didn't see and obvious action. However I was quite early (9pm) so may pick up later. HCMC was very busy due to Tet but bars were quiet and girls glad of the business.

Hope this helps any newbies as I find the HBT bars most accessible for the new comer. However 2 moped girls did stop for me as I walked along HBT.
