If you are young, white, good looking, you can try to make friends with the students as your hotel is right next to the South China Normal University, which happen to have the best looking colleage girls, and they are always looking for handsome white guys to practice their English.
F.
Actually, I stayed at this hotel last fall and it's not next to the University, it's actually within the University grounds itself and caters mostly to people visiting the university. This being so, I was kind of reluctant to partake of the "hobby" as there's just too many spying eyes around/too close to the reason why I needed to stay there.
But the 'urge" being what it was, I did wander out and found some little local places close by. I walked it but it's quite a walk and thus you may want to taxi it there. Basically, as you walk out the FRONT entrance of the hotel (not the entrance towards the you grounds) turn right and keep walking until you reach where your street is a flyover over a cross street. Go down this cross street and there you will find a few massage/footsy places/BBS etc. Very local but OK. At least it was last year.
Sorry, Cannot think of the actual street names but believe the above shud be good enough directions
