Was in Shanghai for several days and thanks for the detailed info in previous pages, was able to understand the "windy weather" that is now prevalent and the do / don't, who / who not. Since I speak zero Chinese, my language help was an app. So, I figured out that venturing in a lot of the places mentioned might be a challenge. I tried once to reach 76 Changshou and gave up.
Per the various recommendations, I had WenLi come to my hotel. Nothing to add to what has already been said. She is quite good, especially at rimming.
By chance I stumbled on a place that was just a block from my hotel, it was written on the side "foot, bath massage" and I decided to venture in. I could not utter a word in Chinese and neither could they in English. So I ended up with a regular foot massage for less than 200 RMB. Then I tried to ask the foot masseuse for "extras" (using the app) and she said that I can get extra from the "other girls" for 260 RMB, which I did, and I finally understood that you can directly ask for "massage with oil" for 260 RMB and you will get the "other girls".
Pros: a good he is included in the 260 RMB; the girl has to spent 45 minutes in the room; if you are done before the time, they will ask you not to leave and will continue to massage or sit with you till the 45 minutes are over; there are a variety of girls, between 4 and 7; roaming is allowed.
Cons: massage is so-so; massage beds are not the cleanest (had to get back to the hotel and take a shower every time); there was no line up every time I went. Maybe they could do one if asked, especially since the girls are in the 4-7; did not ask for line up because it was already awkward conversing through the app;.
As a note, all the mongers that I ran into when entering or exiting were all Chinese. I did not see any foreigner (beside myself). All girls that I had the various times I went there were "bushy". Not sure if it is a pro or con, but just what I found out.

I concur on not paying anything in advance. There are also services online which offer take-out and ask for a deposit. I strongly advise against that as well. I would understand if they arrive and they aren't to you liking and then asking for cab fare, then that to me would be acceptable. Other than that, I wouldn't pay for anything until after being serviced.

Also, lineups are not the done thing in MPs, but you are free to request a different girl if the one they assign you is not to your liking, and doing this more than once is also OK. Lineups are a Sauna thing (but not many of those left these days).

I've heard disturbing reports recently from multiple girls working the J and M scene that security at M is shaking them down for serious money (rmb 6000/ mo) for guaranteed entry. I am sure that human nature (lust and greed) will eventually bring a fun resurgence, but for now it is best to find a regular if possible to avoid the disappointments that comes from blind dates, not to mention the safety factor on all fronts.
