Different shops have different pay scales. For instance Tulip takes not just the massage fee but also 400 Baht out of the 1500 Baht "tip".
On top of it the girls have to buy their own shower gel, oil, KY and condoms and tip the maid 20 Baht per room use.
That basically leaves about 1000 Baht net for the girl for which she will have to give a full 3 hole service.
The girls can take one day off per week. Any extra day off the girls have to pay 3,000 Baht for weekdays and 5,000 Baht at weekends and public holidays if they don't show up.
Some of the other shops give the girls a cut on the massage fee after they have serviced a certain number of customers which favors the superstars and keeps them loyal.

At least that is my impression. This too adds to the comfort level of working at shop rather than independently.
However, now that there are a few similar-type shops, some of which are connected in a way, and others not so much, it is easier for the girls to move around from shop to shop, and in some instances follow their friends from one shop to another. This may be a bigger threat to management's ability to retain the girls, and therefore demand high standards from them, than competition from the internet, freelancing opportunities, and so forth. The rest of the oilies you mention are all clustered around Soi 22,24, 24/1 and 26, When I fancy an oily I do a little tour of the shops in this area seeing if any of the women take my eye and will provide what I want.
