I'm new to this forum, but it's a lot that I'm lurking here, and it was very useful in organizing my trips.

So basically the weather will be very windy until mid November, for the international expo that will take place from 5th to 10th of November. In the Chinese forum (I'm an oversea born Chinese that can speak and read Chinese), they say that some saunas are already closing up before the real crackdown, for 3 months, and the one that are still open don't have a lot of business because the people are afraid of going, for now until the end of the expo it's better to avoid saunas, MP and barbershops, the safest options should be the pick up bars (never went to one in shanghai before but looking at the forum reports, they should be fine), but seems that the girls available aren't that many, or ktvs, but they tend to be a bit pricey, around 4 k, if you go with the qq groups (they are qq chat groups that arrange KTV parties), and that includes the KTV room, drinks and the girl that will stay with you overnight, you can just take the girl too without participating to the KTV party but you need to be a regular or have someone to guarantee for you.

Better to change to nearby cities like Suzhou or Nanjing (I know, not very near, but it's only a little more than 1 hour with the high speed train).

It surelly is an option amongst others, but it doesn't make any sense saying MPs or bars are a "waste of time and money" when you say you end up paying 1500 to that girl and considering the chating time necessary to find and keep these contacts.

I actually understand better the guys who use dating sites to get freebies but then again we all know nothing is really free and for people who've used such sites before we all know its a huge time sink and not compatible with a busy working life and mariage.

Enjoy your dating sites but I still view MPs as much more efficient money & timewise :)

2. I have never done KTV but your pricing is right for J / Ms.

3. The number of chinese customers at J / Ms has increased, The girls preference are guys with money not race.

4. Manhattan's and Judy's are behind the portman hotel (ritz carlton) located on Nanjing Lu. Take a cab there and walk a block around back. Or ask the taxi driver to take you to the blind pig restaurant / bar. Its right next door to manhattans / 2 blocks from judy's.

5. Never done an STD study, hope to never find out.

6. Judy's and Manhattans can open at 930 pm. Usually no one is in there but one or two girls you may not want. 1030 pm-1 am seems to be the prime time with the most choices. I have stayed to 230 on nights I really didn't care if I went home alone (it was after a long week of banging). Girls start to recycle by then from their first dates. It seemed like the girls were less willing to negotiate at that time. It's like they made their money on the first round and were holding back. I have heard that about 5 am prices drop way down. I have never cared to stay long enough to find out for 200-400 RMB.

In fact two out of the last three I've taken fit that bill and my two mates took young ones as well. Plenty of young talent there.

As far as KTV nice if you can find it. I think you will need a Chinese insider to locate a westerner friendly KTV w takeout. I was not successful. But love Manhattan regardless. As SamCan says taxi driver may get confused. Going to Blind Pig is your best bet and a great pregame warmup.

This hotel (baolong, a two star hotel) is cheap and convenient (just across from M). If I book a room there, do you think I would have problem to bring a girl in midnight? Thanks for the comments!

Northwest from Jinshajiang / and Zhongshan (Jinshajiang station with lines 3/4/13), there's a cluster running from and Zhonghshan. Xingshan Rd. S Meiling. There also happen to be no small number of small massage shops which may or may not be in on it, but it should be hard to miss all the unmarked pink-lit storefronts.
