Santo Domingo

The Twin reached out for me last night. She has that nickname from the guys in my boys crew that roll through the DR. She has an identical twin and they are both players.

We've done nothing but talk because the negotiations have always broken down. Last night we entered negotiations again. I started low. She told me that wasn't any real money, she had to pay for the taxi and "[blue][Non-English text deleted by Admin][/blue]". My counter offer was I get to bust twice and doubled my offer. She accepted. She wanted to know when and where and I told her I would let her know. She ended the conversation with: "[blue][Non-English text deleted by Admin][/blue]".

I'm not big on pros. And she's 1/3 higher compared with my booty call girls. So, I'll keep her on the shelf for when I want to try something new. Picture is below. PM if you are interested.

Looking for suggestions. I will be flying from Haiti to la Isabela early February. Right now there does not seem to be rental cars at the airport. I will have to take a cab to a car rental place then rent one way to drop off at POP. If anyone has suggestions please let me know. Their are 2 of us travelling together.

Catch a taxi to either the Metro or Caribe Tours bus station. Take the bus to Sosua. Metro let's you off close enough to walk to many of the hotels. Caribe drops a ways out of town, but a short cab ride will get you to your hotel.

It might take a few more hours, but it's not a bad way to travel. Unless you absolutely need a rental car for some reason.

What prevents you from renting a car in Sosua, once your have landed there by Bus? That way, you can return the vehicle and get back via Pto pta airport. Needless to say, there are a zillion motoconchos, who for a paltry amount, will take you wherever you would want to go in / around Sosua.

Hence you are going to be Gringo taxed. Is cheaper to have the cab driver drive you to your destination. Not only that but is very less time consuming. Also when you have a cab driver drive you up from the airport to a rental car place with all your luggage ready to go on your vacation you put yourself at a big disadvantage for negotiations. I would rather just pay the cab driver to drive me straight to my destination while I relax. At my destination I can get a local car for about $35 a day. Less time consuming than turning in or car from one airport to another.

I would always take the bus and rent the car in Sosua. I like to keep things a simple as possible. Depending on how many are in your party determines whether renting a car makes sence. You can have serious problems with having a car and no experience in the DR. You can become a target.

I have a car reserved for $28.00 per day. But after taxes, fees and drop off (Not insurance which will be a separate charge) the rate climbs to $58 for an intermediate. The drop off fee is $100 so I figure I will only save the drop off fee plus gas if I take the bus. Plus I will need to take a cab to the bus. I'm weighing my options by checking with you guys.

I will not have to negotiate as I have a confirmed reservation.

But I am checking for other options with you guys because it will be my first time in La Isabella airport and they don't seem to have a car rental at the airport. Hence it is necessary to take a cab to the car rental place which is 30 minutes from the airport going in the opposite direction.

My favorite is right around the corner at a place we call "Gogo park" because of preference to just sit there and do nothing with the fellas. Walk out of Napolitano facing the ocean and hang a left and walk two blocks. You will see the park and two stores with the plastic white chairs outside. Either have a seat or get a bottle of brutal and cup with ice and have a seat at the park with the ocean as a backdrop. Watch out for Wendy though. She speaks perfect English and is very cute but she is a crack head. You can also take the 29 minute walk up to Elvis Conde for a few watering holes. Hope this helps. Also the' Luis has good food and it's right past the park on the makecon.

By the way, the entry into the highway that takes you north up to Nagua and then to the Sosua area is close to the International Airport anyway.

Just pointing this out because some taxi drivers are pretty dumb and may take you to the wrong place if you say Neopolitano. There are some casas de cita just off the Malecon next to the Jaragua hotel on Av. Pasteur. You can easily walk there from the Napolitano. Less than a mile. However there are pimps hanging outside these places trying to pick up commissions by getting you inside, so remember that if one of them ushers you in through the door that is 500 pesos or maybe even 1000 pesos added to your bill before you start. These places also sell overpriced drinks. However they do have some pretty girls. Another way of locating casas de cita is to use taxi drivers. Of course they too are in on the commission game for steering you into a given club, so you really cannot win. Good luck anyway if you have to stay in Santo Domingo. If you get a chance you might want to spend a night or two in Boca Chica, which is close to the airport.
