Any Gyms like Bally's type you could join in Bogota for a week or two? Has to have a swimming pool, whirlpool and work out area. And what do they charge for a membership? Week? Month? Preferably in Chapinero alto area, if not, anywhere near by
Thanks guys

Thanks guys
There's one on K7 in Chapinero, maybe about 70? Just up from the supermarket iirc. Another big one on K15 at about 110.
I think they do "short time" ( :) ), but no idea of the price.
I arrive in Bogota at 9:30pm on Tusday and have 12 hours before I take my flight back to Newark for 10 am Wednesday. It will b my first time in Bogota..should I take the cab straight to Sante Fe and use him as my guide?
There will be any hotels around walkable distanc to the nightclubs right? If so, just name one so I can tell the cab to take me there.
Also, how much should I pay the cab to guide me in Bogota so I can stay safe?
Its worth the 7 hour flight just to party hard for a night right?
The main thing to remember is never flag a cab at night. All you have to do is have the establishment you are in, call a secure cab for you.
Fantasy,
Will they call one for you at el Castillo?
Nice reports BTW!

By the time you clear passport control and arrive in the city, it'll be 11pm. You only have a couple of good hours until the scene tails off.
Santa Fe is a dangerous spot. You may have to ask a series of cab drivers before you get one that will keep you company. The going rate for a cab per hour is 20k or a bit less.
There are hotels in that immediate area, but I doubt they'll meet you expectations. They may or may not have hot water.

Viajero... google "bodytech" and maybe "bogota" with it. I posted a link but it got zapped.
I'm not the right guy to answer most of your questions, but I'll say Hotel San Francisco seems to be mentioned the most as a decent hotel near the Santa Fe action.
Are you flying from Newark to Bogota just for one night of mongering? If yes, then I admire your effort, but aren't you concerned any flight delay will really screw things-up.? It really doesn't seem worth the effort for just one night in Bogota IMHO.
I have a general Bogota question. Can anyone compare the scene in Bogota to Cali and Medellin in terms of cost, quality, and quantity of action? I've been to Cali and Medellin numerous times, but never Bogota. I think I'm done with Medellin and would like to replace it with Bogota.
Fellas,
Hey, I'm looking to make a return trip to Bogota (search my last report in June/July timeframe) after sampling Panama City and Dom Rep. Looking at the May-June time frame for 10-14 days. Was planning to stay in Zona Rosa as last time, but am considering Santa Fe as it seems to have made a resurgence in recommendations on this board. As a novice spanish speaker though, should I still stay in Zona Rosa and just taxi out to Santa Fe district to hobby?
Also, I noticed that the exchange rate is at about 1800pesos/dollar. That is about 200 pesos different than last year at the same time I'm planning to travel. Have regular travelers felt that difference in your hobbying? I definitely don't want to pay more than 150k for a TLN, but, I'm opening up more to a short time on the premises as an cheaper option.
I was trying to hold out for Medellin with some of my friends, but they wussed out and I don't want to go alone, plus it seems a little more overpriced.
Looking forward to words of wisdom to aid in my planning. BTW, I looked at this forum all the way back to September, so, I have a good idea of what's been said, which has been really helpful.

Is there anyone out there that can connect me with a reliable driver during my stay in Bogota. I am meeting some new chicas met over the internet and want to be sure that I am in control of where we are going at all times. Please PM if possible as well.
Thank you!

Medellin is by far the most expensive and overated IMO.
i arrive in bogota at 9:30pm on tusday and have 12 hours before i take my flight back to newark for 10 am wednesday. it will b my first time in bogota..should i take the cab straight to sante fe and use him as my guide?

its worth the 7 hour flight just to party hard for a night right?
damn, that's pretty crazy! also remember you've got to be back at the airport no later than 8 am, the airport is busy in the morning, and security might check you out more carefully both in bogota and newark when they see you were in the country only one short night. if they ask you why, what will you tell them? :)
you might not have to pay for a night at a hotel. you only need to bring a small carry-on with a change of clothing and some toiletries, that will also help speed things up when airport security checks you inside out, lol! just sleep as much as you can on the plane both ways, session and break night in the clubs.
some places may close early but i remember walking out of "la forty-nine" (on calle 49 and carrera 13) around 5:30 am and it was still going strong although this was a saturday morning not a wednesday.
worst case scenario (the clubs close early) take a girl out to a love motel, there's one near the airport called coconito. look in the bogota lists section for info on it. there should be some love motels in the sante fe area but i don't know specific ones. another web site i know mentioned hotel el dorado on calle 15 and carrera 4 as a place you can rent rooms by the hour in addition to nightly; that's in the candelaria neighborhood just south of santa fe, although in your case, if you're going to go love motel, i think your best bet is the one closest to the airport for obvious reasons.
just one disclaimer, i haven't been to these motels so i can't honestly vouch for them. call them in advance if you can speak spanish. in my trip to bog, i stayed at suites real 85 (very guest-friendly) for almost a week but that's not really a love motel, although one night my neighbor had his action going at the same time i was! :)
can't speak for the santa fe area, but if you go to "la forty-nine" they will take care of you there, although that spot is more expensive. the security guys/hosts are looking for tips but the one that helped me seemed like a decent fellow, i think his name was wilson; but pretty much any of those guys working there will assist you, escort you to an atm, etc.; just give them a 20k tip at the end of the night.
what's nice is the place has a little of everything. i remember having a great colombian style ajiaco soup there at 3 in the morning with my buddy, they have a small kitchen working all night; in-house rooms are the usual, just a bed and a cold shower.
don't bring more than one credit card with you just in case (god forbid) you end up in a paseo millonario. when you walk out of luggage claim at el dorado airport, go upstairs to where the atms are and take out 400-500k, that should be more than enough for the night. again, can't speak for other venues but you can use your credit card for everything at "la forty-nine" although the girls prefer cash of course.
my advice would be go to forty-nine instead of santa fe, session with a girl or two and if you like one, take her out to coconito although you'll have to pay a hefty multa. there are two "forty-nine" clubs right next to each other. the one i went to is the first one as you walk south on carrera 13, not the second door a few yards further.

Its worth the 7 hour flight just to party hard for a night right?
You must be kidding? :-) I have been raving about Bogota but you must be crazy to spend that money and time that for only one night.
In total you would spend over 25 hours of your time in transit and lotsa $$ for the ticket.
