Geez your allowed to take 'x' amount in and out of country. On exiting Manila once, I was approached by Security to give him my change after paying departure tax. I smiled and moved on. Don't be weak, encouraging these guys. How weak, allowing him to place his hands inside money belt, illegal! I have been patted down at x ray machine numerous times and always have money belt, which they discover, never been asked to give any money and never will. Its not illegal to have money belt with money in it. Do not encourage this kind of behaviour!
I agree, as long as one is carrying an amount of money within what is legal to get in or out of that specific country (and this can vary from country to country)
I once had an amount of cash exceeding the (Vietnam) country limit, did not declare it on arrival (my fault as I did not check the specific limit) and on departure, at customs X-ray, before the security check, the girl could see cash in an envelope in my handcarry bag. She asked me to show the envelop and her supervisor came in handling the whole matter in a booth behind.
I did not have any other choice than leaving a certain tip under my passport on the desk, when he asked me "tell me what I can do now as you have more than allowed". I was the prey, no doubt.
I believe they celebrate when one is breaking (their) rules as the tea funds get a funding.
I have to say that Vietnam cash limit is much less than nearby countries, so it is easier be trapped.

Angeles Meet up
Greetings to all. Long time member but first post. Iam finally taking my first trip to A / C, and have made my preparations. Just want to check your advices if it is the best. Arr clark midday arrange for hotel pick up (wise?) staying at wild orchid in jonny st (bit expensive maybe) Now questions; is this a good hotel for taking girls (maybe more than one) is it nice and close to bars and the action. Would appreciate any advice and help as it is my first trip to angeles and I think I will be cautious until I get the feel of the scene. Am staying 10 days Any help regarding hotel accom, bars etc etc would be greatly appreciated cheers
If you've been a long time member here, you should know to RTFF in the "Forum Asia The Philippines Angeles City Hotels & Accommodations pages. There's nothing wrong with Wild Orchid and its location. I consider Wild Orchid a mid priced hotel and have seen several good reports about it. You can also check the reviews on Agoda or TripAdvisor.
Why be cautious? As long as you don't act stupid, you don't look rich and you treat the natives with respect, you'll be fine! It's pretty hard to get lost on Walking Street (The main area).
Goodluck,
YG
Her oral skills were far below the girls from the pro circuit. I wasn't surprised at all. I told her to hop on top. Two minutes later she was tired. WTF! I told her. Ok, lazy, lay down. I decided to finish quick and send this one down the road. After I finished she rolled over and said. We go to sleep now. I said no! You get dressed and you go home. She said she wanted to sleep here in the air-con. Nope, sorry. I don't sleep well with people in my bed. Paid her and sent her down the road. Now, it's off to Subic Bay.
Maybe she was giving you what you prepared to pay for. A girl can agree to go with you for any price, doesn't mean they have to perform or enjoy.

too many mongers concentrate only on the going rate for short time, trike fares, and rack rates for flea pits while ignoring little legal details like the currency limit written on the customs declaration that they sign upon entry. others seem to think that foreigners are exempt from local laws prohibiting the use of illegal narcotics and the possession of firearms only to end up locked up abroad. a little due diligence on the laws of the land could keep a lot of mongers from becoming exotic and special western meats for filipino inmates who love blue eyes as much as the girls do.
A little due diligence on the laws of the land could keep a lot of mongers from becoming exotic and special Western meats for Filipino inmates who love blue eyes as much as the girls do.
Agreed, and for the record the current amount allowed is PHP 10000 plus USD 10000 (or its equivalent in other currencies than PHP).
Well, you have to know the rules otherwise you will be in an extremely weak position called ignorance.
CM, good advice, but wrong amount. Perhaps you're thinking of the pre 1995 amount, LOL. Since then PHP10, 000 is allowed to be taken out or brought in and up to USD10, 000 or its equivalent in other foreign currencies, except PHP.

Past Tense vs. Present
Correct, the genereal rule is 10, 000 either in pesos going out of Phils or dollars going out of USA. CM was using past tense and you Pip are using present tense. Beyond the general rule, it gets considerably murkier. For most people the 10, 000 rule is sufficient.
After almost a decade of frequent trips through NAIA I have never been accousted by Airport personnel for anything other than routine security procedures.
I have to wonder what behavior, appearance or attire would warrant such action?
Randomness. Immigration and customs personnel in many countries detain people at random. Even in the States. I'm about as boring and non-descript a traveler as any at the airport, but I've been detained in different countries (briefly) for routine questioning or looking thru my luggage. You don't need to do anything suspiscious. Have never been accosted in NAIA.

WC, you don't think that wild grin on your face when departing Phil has anything to do with it?

Leaving the country different countries have different standards for their own currencies. In USA sometimes they ask you how much cash you are carrying.
And question you why you are carrying so much?
It is mainly to see if you are paying cash and bringing in drugs.
-
All countries standard is $10, 000 dollars entering into the country.
This varies, though. In the European Union, for instance, you can bring any amount, as long as its declared, and up to 10000 Euros undeclared.
Leaving the country different countries have different standards for their own currencies.
As noted, with regards to Phil the PHP 10000 applies to both in&out movements, that should be easy for even the stupider mongers to remember.
yes, blue eyes be forewarned. think that norwegian lad would have blue eyes, lol.
a blonde blue eyed milk complexioned thor, from the far away frigid land of norway would indeed be an especially exotic treat for filipino convicts. there is no way that such rare and special fresh meat could escape the attentions of the resident predators. he would stick out like filet mignon on a buffet line.
here is something guys who like to stumble around drunk on the philippine streets might want to think about. http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/nation/metro-manila/06/06/12/male-student-raped-2-men
