If it's too good to be true then it probably is. Don't think with the wrong head. Stay safe. It's enough that we have to be aware of authorities. Don't put yourself in a position to be in danger of being scammed.
A few years ago, I was in Shanghai with limited time and opportunity. This site proved to be a pretty good place to arrange some fun. The girls were reasonably priced, the madam could communicate well in English and the service was essentially no hassle.
Now I cannot find it online.
Were they arrested? I spent some time RTFF, but cannot find out what happened. Is there a new site?

On a whim, I emailed [EMAIL]booking@shanghai-nightlife-guide.com[/EMAIL]. I got a return message that, "Unfortunately Steven and most of the team behind him, have been arrested. Shanghai Nightlife Guide will not return. Etc. ".
That is a very unhappy event. I wonder how long these guys went to prison in China (can they bribe their way out?). Mon Dieu!
I have had several happy moments in China over the last 15 years, but the place was always complicated due to language and cultural issues. I hadn't been to Shanghai for about 2-3 years, but was considering a return in November. With this sustained crackdown, and the dramatic increase in prices, Shanghai and Beijing seem far less appealing to me. Am I missing something?

There was a sting where they arrested over a dozen Johns, mostly foreigners, to testify against Steven and Judy. NLO is okay. Reliable indies on there. MPs, saunas, and agencies are a bit risky. Agencies are now risky because of what happened to Steven.
Went for an afternoon visit to Spring Ya'an Road last week. Seems they have a new regime there now. No showering in the room, instead you have to go along the hall to a dedicated shower room. Ok, before your massage but somewhat uncomfortable after, if you know what I mean.
Massage was pretty good but after the flip, the girl began the hustle for tips. On the positive side, BJ was on offer for 500, I declined being short of cash. Still, an uncomfortable experience.
Luckily, not that far away on Xietu Rd, there's a new Spring (Aroma Spa) that doesn't do the shower down the hall nonsense. It isn't branded as a Spring, except on its DianPing listing. Looks like it might be a better option.

Finally after deciding that they had wrung all the money they could out of me, they gave me a "free" beer and sent me penniless back to my hotel in a cab. I immediately cancelled the charges online with my banks. There was some reluctance to void the charges since the proper PIN had been used, etc. , but eventually when the "vendor" did not respond to the banks' inquires the banks all agreed to credit my accounts. Whew.
Because I figured the crooks would be enraged when they learned the banks had voided the charges, I also changed hotels and kept a low profile for the rest of my trip. I even took a deep breath when going through outbound Chinese immigration since I was worried that these connected crooks might have lodged a claim against me that might prevent me from leaving China, which I was anxious to do. Luckily, things went smoothly, but I did breathe an extra sigh of relief when my AA flight took off for Dallas! Subsequent trips have been less eventful.
Moral (s) of this story:
1. Never go with any one you don't know, especially if you are alone. This can be difficult if you've had a couple of drinks and the come on is from a pretty young thing, but don't kid yourself that you are such a hot stud that cute young ladies are going to really approach you to go to parties, free massages, tea ceremonies, English classes, etc. It just does not happen!
2. Limit what you carry in terms of cash and cards, etc. And.
3. no p. In China is worth the risk and the stress of these situations.
I have worked all over the world and I am by no means young anymore, but this night in Shanghai still gives me chills and makes me very grateful that Karma or some other past good deeds, etc. Extricated me from a very dicey spot. I left 2 days later so the risk was limited to whatever notes they took to give the girl. I had asked steven if them kept customer records back then. He said they did not. I never asked if the girls kept the data somehow.

I am now back in SG.
In other news, yesterday (my last night on this trip) was pretty good. I was at the Northern end of the Bund for a couple of drinks with an old pal around 10 pm. When my friend went to take a leak, I looked at people nearby on WeChat and fired off quite a few greetings. Of the several that responded, one girl named Elektra took my fancy and I asked her directly if she wanted to have some fun. She replied with a yes, so I told her I need at least another hour before I could meet her. She said she was happy to wait. So I finished my little catch-up with my friend and then called her. She answered almost immediately. She spoke reasonably good English and was happy to come and meet for a drink and talk things over.
Within the next 30 minutes she was at the agreed rendezvous point. Cute thing, no more than 5'4", definitely not PRC, hair dyed blonde and all other parts of interest in good proportion. Turns out she is Indonesian of Chinese descent, working in Shanghai and moonlighting as a WG. The conversation moved swiftly to matters of importance. She wanted RMB 1200 for 3 hours. I told her I will give her RMB 1000 if she stays till morning and if her service is good then another RMB 200 as a tip. She haggled but I stuck to my offer. In the end she saw that this was the best she would get out of me and she agreed.
Back to the hotel around 12.30 am. Absolutely no issues with her attitude or service. Did everything I wanted. I think I fell asleep by 2. 30 am. Woke around 6 am and went to town again, but this time I did not last too long. But Elektra would have none of that shit. She took it upon herself to get me hard again with a real good BBBJ. And this time she expertly rode me CG and kept at it till I exploded. Real good show. I would say she really earned that RMB 200 tip. So I actually gave her another RMB 100, totaling my damages to RMB 1300. Went for my meetings with bloodshot eyes. Slept on the flight back to SG.
