But I'd say there's no point of trying to book a hotel near "the action" because in my view there's no considerable action areas. Yes there are a lot of MPs here and there but frankly there's no concentration. IMO you should find a decent hotel for your budget in Colombo and from there you can easily take a metered tuk tuk to any place for very cheap. It's about 0. 25 USD per km. That said I believe that mongering is a least priority in your trip given that there's not real p4p scene in Sri Lanka. Just my 2cents.
