1. Veterans, skip my post, because this post has no intel.

2. For you Rio virgins like me, I can't wait to get to Rio! I will be there Sunday morning June 15 on the worst day of the week for mongering-Sunday!

3. To some of you veterans who have pm backed to me with some advice. Thanks. (Seriously).

4. For any veterans who care to reply. Which "love motel" do I take these streetwalkers, WG's, and, the 1 in 100 chance I snag a World Cup groupie chick for free, in the Copa Balcony Bar area? Just want to save some Reals and not blow it all at an expensive love motel. So which love motel is a good price near Balcony Bar / Copa Beach area? (My ipanema place won't allow visitors).

5. Gran Merino, plan F could be Barbarellas if Balcony closes this week. (Based on the 100 pages of forum posts I've read).

6. Again, based on the 100 pages I've read. Termas and prives are the way to go. (I'm going to a terma Sunday night).

7. I guess I will just have to report my experiences, every couple of days I'm there.

But don't worry, some other bar will come to fill the void. There always is. It just won't happen by the end of the World Cup.

Three yellow stripes mean "sergeant".

So, the Policia Militar guy in the picture is a sergeant, or above.

He is carrying a 7. 62 mm assault rifle; all the Policia Militar carry at least a 9 mm taurus pistol; while some of the policia civil cops (the ones in beige with cristo statue patches who sometimes have armbands with "posse ajudar") carry a first aid kit and a baton -- and as such are pretty useless in a real force escalation situation with traficantes, the top level criminals.

Look at the uniform, so you can recognize the RJ military police. Other states like RS (Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, POA) have different uniforms.

Why?

Policia Militar are everwhere in Rio, from Zona Sul to Zona Norte. In Zona Sul, they are on on the streets on Av Nossa Copa, pretty easy post. In Zona Norte, they are clearing city blocks in body armor with heavy weapons in support.

The guy who tried to follow the girl from pra bandeira to Metro station was asking for a fight, and on her home field

By the way, the Policia Militar are the ones who actually do deserve the credit for RJ and Brazil being as ready as the country is for Copa and maybe Olympics. I am both a Brazil and a Vasco fan, which by social I'd means I am cheering for the poorest, slumdog Brazilians to become millionaires if they so desire.

There is a less than $50 BRL guide for security for even a monger who has never been to Brazil, much less a gym, before:

- buy a vasco shirt immediately and wear it.

- always know where the policia militar are, and if you need them, the first word is "sergeant".

A small correction, Patmar. "Sargento". Btw the guy in the photo is a "Segundo Sargento". If the officer in question would be of higher rank, e.g a Tenente, he might be offended if you call him Sargento. If you havn't done military service and learnt ranks you be better of to address the PM with a polite "Senhor".

I would be careful of recommending forum members to search out PMs in the purpose of getting protective friends. My experience with brazilian police are all very good, most brazilian police are honest guys that do a good work, but that doesn't go for all of them. Some are corrupt, triggerhappy guys that are involved in crimes, sometimes targeting gringos (working together with prostitutes or drugdealers). IMO it's better to not attract the attention from neither criminals or police (unless they happens to be goodlooking female police, two of my best f*cks have been with PMs in Salvador :)).

I figured that I was off by a rank, which is why I said, "sergeant or higher".

But, a few points.

This is based on a specific experience. When I talked to that PM sergeant (sargento), on Av Rio Branco near 502 when getting cash, I actually had 3 short conversations. Inside the bank, I did the usual, qual es su nome? Roberto. Prazer, etc. Actually, I said, we carry those pistols, a beretta too. He said, they are taurus in Brazil. OK, military worldwide do one thing in common, they carry weapons.

Out on the street, when he called me over when he was standing with 4 PM, I asked, so what is your unit patch, the PMERJ patch. Maybe he misunderstood, but he pointed to his three yellow stripes and said "sergeant" (in English), I guess "sargento" but close enough. My point is that in the 5 seconds that you are under stress in a fight or close to a fight, that dude is trained to react to his rank; and that's a good thing if you want to get him on your side immediately.

So, again, then walking back to 502, he and his buddies now all say Hi to me, by name; and again, that's a good thing on Av Rio Branco 100 meters from Av pres vargas, where, on any given day, there are 500 professional protestors (some of whom carry gas masks) trying to get into confrontations.

Now, on another occasion in RJ, I had another positive interaction with another PM (Policia Militar), this out in Tijuca. Diego. Now, this PM specifically said, the girls in the prive you are thinking about are ugly, you should go to this particular terma. So, just based on my limited experience, the PM's I have interacted with are the carioca males that I want to actually socialize with and trade ah, professional, knowledge with. I mean, those PM patrols of 2 or 4 guys who pass through Mosaico at 2 AM are there for security, but they do have penises.

On the subject of police, and women police who are hot, I recall this. About a year ago, Cartman and I headed to MV30 or one of those darkside termas. Cartman's girl that night -- who was the hottest in the bar -- turned out to be studying for the policia civil exam. After that, I did start to notice that many of the policia civil female officers are pretty hot, 25 ish women. I'd definitely put them on the non pro list, though I have not yet accomplished that particular hat trick (good on ya, Sperto).

On a bigger picture note, though, the Policia Militar (and correct me if I am wrong, because I am not researching this) have a main mission of pacification (UPP). 2008, RJ gets the olympics. 2010, Federal military comes into RJ to clear favelas held by hard core traficantes. 2013, there are protestors in the hundreds of thousands. But in the last 12 months, the police have received special training in non violent means, so the excessive force incidents of 2013 are not as prevalent, nor are the actual protests in the hundreds of thousands, rather maximum of 1000 professional protestors. So, the conclusion is that PM are really overkill, overarmed, underutilized in civil policing; again, a good thing for me if I want an ally on the street in RJ, the guy with the most powerful weapons, also the guys who are likely to be monger experts themselves, and the least likely to be concerned with minor (from their jurisdiction) issues such as those that the police clearing balcony (and I don't know where that is, except its in copa, right?) are. So, if the PM (as opposed to civil police) actually get involved in a situation, they are not going to want to do the paper work to haul anyone into their station. The PM officers on the street in Botafogo, or Leblon, or Humaita are on easy duty compared to the other places they could be in RJ -- namely in a favela somewhere north of Central station and south of Pavuna in a real firefight with traficantes.

World Cup fever has gripped Rio harder than a gdp grips your pau in combination with social unrest but in general the city is buzzing. Hit MV30 and MC-MC was super packed and did 2 sessions w new girls--last one black girl-super safada- sucked a mean one and full cim.

MV30 was good too-banged a new one-mixed race-quite skinny-cim again.

Will go to 4 x 4 tomorrow Sunday and see a few non-pros in between before flying to my non-pro in Minas.

I had the best Sunday night ever despite losing $30 in cab rides going to 4 x4 on Sunday at centro. I'm looking at my camera now and that 3 some with 2 hot Brazilian 19 year olds just cemented my best trip ever. And I just started this ISG mongering forum experience 4 years ago. I still have 7 more nights in Rio! Un frickin believable despite balcony bar closing and centro termas not open on Sundays.

WoW! Wow! Wow! And I did all these without a ISG wingman. Seriously. You are at an advantage at termas right now. Balcony is closed. No euro escorts I've seen. Sunday termas give you a 5 to 1 ratio. None of the world cup fanatics are at monte carlo on Sunday. I befriended a Greek hauncho, a Mexico City hauncho and a Wash DC hancho at Monte Carlo. I cannot believe I did what did at balcony bar just now with 2 horny very good looking brazilian 19 year olds. They were hhorny as fuck and picture happy too. I couldn't believe she insisted on 150 reals once we got in the room. All I can say is WOW!

Everybody in Rio is in great spirits. But again Balcony is closed now. And if you see 2 hot Brazilian 19 year olds outside of balcony. They are worth $150 US. So awesome!

My suggestion for the most 'iconic' places (fairly unlike you will find elsewhere in the world) in Rio de Janeiro remaining would be 4 x4 (expensive end, but an experience) and Vila Mimosa (cheap and mucky); although best places just to get politely laid, on the other hand (with an emphasis on politely and discreetly) are the Centro privees.

Neither of these places are in Copacabana, which has it's own special sense of being larger than life (I often think of it as Rio's 'Disneyland' Many WC TV commentators appear to be permanently standing on Copa beach with Sugar Loaf mountain in the background, even though Copa is just one small district and not even close to Maracana. Taking time out in Copacabana fills you with the famous spirit of Rio in a way nowhere else can. It's as if everybody colludes to make the fantasy real. You can wander the beach by day, go jogging there if you are keen, find a restaurant where the (often inflated) high opinion the staff have of the food is truly contagious, grab some beers as the sun goes down, then get enjoyably fleeced in a boite (go-go club with women available to go home with you.) You pay for the privilege, but it's fun, especially if you are fairly new to Rio. The Princesa Isabel (Leme) end of Copa tends to be dirtier, with high priced boites, a few genuinely good eating places, on-street drinking holes, and enough freelancers wandering between them to keep your mind and maybe other things occupied. Naturally you don't want to include a mugging in an otherwise heady evening, so you won't walk on the beach after dark, only carry what you absolutely need in terms of valuables, try not to draw attention, and try not to flash cash too readily.

I spoke with a good friend of mine who works at Centaurus. It has been crazy busy recently.

Highlights include a 2+ hours wait for a room, one person deciding to use the medical check-up room to do a session rather than waiting and most crazy of all a couple of american working girls working there.

I guess this is what happens when World Cup hits a city.

Looking for forward to a lot of lonely ladies in August.
