But I was walking about 2-3 blocks from Space and 1/2 block down the wide pedestrian walkway across the street from the clock tower entrance. Since this is a major tourist area, I don't see why you feel it would be unusual to walk this area around the time the bars closed.

I may have had 2 or max 3 beers that night. Gangs of muggers don't zero in on their target by walking in a large obtrusive group and announcing that they will rob you from a mile away. They separate into smaller, less threatening groups and approach innocently from different directions then suddenly come together to surround their target.

If you went to Brazil or Thailand you would probably lose your mind.[/QUOTE]I was merely stating my observations of Space and LDV, and how they differed from hardcore puta bars, mainly for the benefit of mongers who have never been. I don't see a reason why you would comment about that. And I never said Tijuana is the best mongering destination. Matter of fact, I stated that I greatly preferred Cartagena over Tijuana. I frequent Tijuana due to convenience and proximity. Tijuana is a great mongering destination though. But there's no point in arguing which destination is the best. That's completely a matter of personal preference. Each destination has it own style, traits, specialties. If a monger prefers a straight up raunchy Latina *****house with onsite hotel, explicit stage shows, and packed with up to 600 putas on a weekend, then Tijuana would be at the top of his list. And don't forget ease of access as it's by far the most accessible to American mongers, who don't even need to book an international flight to get there. If one prefers social media hookers, then it would be Medellin. Freelancers in a tropical atmosphere? Cartagena. It's all personal preference. No use in wasting bandwidth trying to convince others that one particular destination is far superior to another.

Will be in Cartagena July 1-4. Medellin 4-9 and back to Cartagena for few days before flying back. If anyone is there around that time DM me we'll get a drink. Medellin will be my 1st time but been to Cartagena bunch of times.

I have never encountered nor have I ever read on here someone reporting on a gang of muggers that they have come across. And you say this as if it is such a common thing that you can even discuss the mannerisms of these roving gangs of muggers. I mean how often does one even see 6 people in the street together unless it is a tour group or kids getting out of school, but you are talking like gangs of muggers are a dime a dozen. You continue time and time again, to just misinterpret things I say. I never said gangs of muggers are all that common. Where did I say that? You really think they roll in one big group attracting attention while they zero in on their target? LOL. Why don't you go call one of your illegal, underground Ubers, with your illegal Uber app, take a ride in their illegal car and make sure you sit in front because the cops may impound it LOL, pay with your illegal credit card, processed by an illegal bank, hopefully he'll have enough gas and not have to fill up at an illegal gas station along with way, and tip the illegal driver to take you to one of your shady places and enjoy your day.

Two put their hands in my pockets and one pulled my cash out, it landed on the sidewalk. Fortunately I scooped it up before any of the girls got their filthy hands on it, and took off running to the Del Rey.

Never been mugged by guys, thank God. Had a creepy guy follow me in Santa Fe, Bogota, but I ducked into a corner restaurant and ordered some food and he eventually left the area.

This is funny. Hahahah. A group of girls tried to pick pocket 🤣129315;129315;129315;.

This guy watches too many spy films with how much he assumes he's being followed.

Going to Cartagena this week. Just want to know if there are any legitimate good massage places. Looking to get nice massage, manicure, pedicure, facial etc. Do not know if Cartagena is known like that like in Thailand, Philippines, China.

I'm not relying on anything but my own experiences there, over 35 trips and many late night early morning walks over a 10 year period. Yes it was risky and I don't suggest it to anyone but I got to be a familiar face. There are no groups of real girls on the street there, only the trans.

So I do not know why you are criticizing my life experiences skills as poor. First hand experience is a life experience fact, not a fiction. And experience is what one gains after they get something different than they expect to get. And this was not a mugging, it was an attempted pick pocket experience that I recovered from successfully. Do not criticize other board members, someday you will probably meet me in a bar and ask me what my nic is on this board.

Have been coming to San Jose probably 8-9 times, but not lately since the Del Rey closed and reopened. Met up with John, the former Del Rey owner, in Cartagena once.

I saw the pickpocket happen because it happened to me, I saw and felt 2 of the 4 or 5 girls reached into my front pockets. I saw them walking towards me about a half block from the front corner door of the Del Rey, by a parking lot, in broad daylight, around noon. I keep my money in my right front pocket and do not use a wallet so my wallet does not get stolen. And one girl pulled all of my bills out of my front right pocket, and onto the sidewalk. In a quick swoop, I snatched them up and ran the half block or so, back to the corner door of the Del Rey. They appeared surprised, like they did not think they would see money come out of my front pockets. They could have been transvestites, as I recall a couple of them were about my height, but I did not bother to ask them or check to see an adams apple, LOL. No point in calling the police, it was an attempted theft, not completed.
