I'm sure they would have gone for less, and I wasn't interviewing the dogs. I don't know whether the women pay the same cover as the men, but if they do, they have a 650 Baht sunk cost to enter the bar. There were quite a few well-dressed middle-eastern men in the place, who I suspect might pay more than average.

I'll be staying at the Conrad with family. Is there anywhere nearby that I can sneak out for a couple of hours? I've read the forum but I don't know any of the areas so it doesn't mean too much to me. This will be my first time in Bangkok and I speak zero Thai. I'm hoping to find someone who can answer my questions either here or via PM.

The Conrad is in a great location, close to Nana and to Annies' Soapy Massage. In fact, I think it's about a 10-15 minute walk. So getting a good soapy at Annie's should definitely be achievable. Make sure to spend some time reading the Annie's forum here in ISG. Tell your family that you are going shopping for some souvenirs while they are relaxing at the pool or getting their afternoon nap.

To add an anecdote. For the first time a girl in Pattaya soi 6 gave me a bona fide personal business card. Funny thing is her performance was pretty much non-pro. I think she must have some previous retail experience which she's applying to her new career.
