Hotel Medellin Plaza, aka Medellin Mansion- Casa Blanca is required by law to supply Migracion Colombia with your passport details and also your arrival date and leaving date from the hotel.

I had a great time in MDE a couple of weeks ago. I may have to sneak in another trip to that wonderful city before the end of the year. I've never tried the hotels, but that may be an option for a change of pace.
Give the fact that you only spend a couple of weeks a year in Medellin and you fall in love with puta / mono's at a drop of a hat.
