FYI, recently in Jakarta tipping is kind of compulsory. It is like when you see or listen "butuh uang" (need money), from a girl to a man. Both would understand after this it is not only the man gives the girl money that simple. So I would suggest negotiate the tips before everything starts. So they would have guaranteed performance at least you would find it acceptable.

Reading on one of the largest Indonesian boards tips are almost always mentioned, except when the service provided was exceptionally bad. All of my local (Local and Chinese-Indo) who are into this also report tipping. From 50/100 at places like Classic and anywhere between 100-500 for places like Alexis and Colo.

I'd hate to see the locals these guys are hanging out with to think that's the norm. The average middle class local Indonesian tips exactly as you mention.

Another interesting post was the guy who suggested the locals never pay as much as 400 k for sex. While that may be true of the lowest of the low places like Kalijodo (now closed), the going rate at places like Hotel Classic and other popular fairly low end brothels cost just below 400 k now. To say the locals don't pay that makes no sense at all. The clientele at places like that is over 90% locals. Hell, many locals pay far more than that at places like Malioboro, etc. And those places are also frequented by over 90% locals. Jakarta has a lot of locals who have very good salaries now. The last time I went to Malioboro, I went with 3 local guys. Each of them took an import girl for over 2 million rupiah while I took a local girl because 2 million rupiah for an hour is not in my budget.

Again, it does depend on the type of locals you are hanging out with. If your local friends are guys who drive a bajaj or sell bakso in a cart by the side of the road, then I agree those guys don't tip and don't pay over 150 to 200 k. Mainly because they can't afford it.

I potentially have a work trip in 2 weeks that would let me come back but I was curious on members thoughts about if its worth it with Ramadan going on? Any opinions is appreciated.

I parsed through almost 100 girls on IC; met only 4; and Maria was a gold find. Anita was nice and other one in Jakarta was a head case who I left at the dinner table. More on that in the review. Moved from Mulia to Oakwood Suites for Sat & Sunday. Nice place to stay. Built in 2016 so everything is fresh and new. 2-bedroom apartment for $119 USD. Washer / dryer in unit which came in handy for my stale clothes.

You're now down to Dee's and My Bar, which really means not much to do untill late at night, and even then I'd have thought it's a bit of a gamble. The night I arrived in Jakarta (10 pm) I stayed at the Shangri-La. I had a date from CJ's; then a date from BATS. The accompanying jet lag had me wide awake roaming around the lobby at 3 am talking to the 6 unattached girls from BATS hanging in the lobby. I thought about taking one, then I changed my mind and decided to take a trip to the Blok for old times sake. I too expected it to be "dead", but I was there 3 times in 8 days and it was packed every time; of course late at night.

But for me that's what the Blok always was. In 2014, I used to stay at Hotel Falatehan and spend the evening at CJ's, BATS, and a few other places. BLOK M was there for me if I wanted another go late at night. I'd just walk down the street and find someone at Top Gun or My Bar.

My 3rd visit to the Blok this trip, too many girls that didn't interest me physically or appearance-wise were hitting on me. It was annoying. I did run into Elle, my first ever Indonesian fuck from June 2014. I couldn't enjoy myself with the smoke, noise and unwanted companions, so I got Elle's number and left.

Saw Elle on my last day in Jakarta, so another stop at the Blok that paid dividends.

This may or may not apply to you. On Twitter, you can search for "at" mangatasuite (This posting does not allow the "at" sign, but you need to include that in your Twitter search). They are escort agencies with high class girls who are models, flight attendants etc. Their Twitter profile has WhatsApp number on it which you can connect to. I have not personally used their services. If not mistaken, their starting price is 7 million and above.
