i went to berlin for the weekend and one of my must do items on my tourist list was a visit to artemis. i won't bore you here with the other details of my trip.
well, after reading up on artemis on this thread (thanks guys, especially angus magee!) i found it without much difficulty thanks to familiarity with the superlative german public transportation system. after a day of sightseeing i got in at around 9 pm on saturday night. (i will compare it with fkk palace as that is the club i'm most familiar with in the remainder of this report.) my initial on entering the place was that both are housed in similar looking buildings, unattractive from the outside, squat and industrial. inside i found the ladies at the front a little friendlier. i was not as impressed with the changing rooms nor the robes at artemis as it seemed too near the front and not as plush. the showers themselves were much better though. the food and restaurant at palace is definitely better, no comparison there! i quite liked the layout of the ground floor but found it a lot less spacious than i was expecting. lots of lovely girls lounging around was nice and the smaller space made it more intimate but i wasnt impressed initially. i felt palace was much more upmarket if that makes sense. however, this was before i realised that artemis had another floor below which was much nicer than palace and i quite like this idea of multiple levels. the hamam, large pool, lounge, and kino on the first floor were all superb and the bar too. the saunas too. that floor was what made me go from, "i don't know what the big deal is. " to "wow! this place is cool. " the tv screen was another great touch. i spent some considerable time in the saunas and in the pool/jacuzzi after my first session (see presently).
now to the main course, the girls themselves. because it was much darker in the ground level room at artemis i found it hard at first to compare the beauty of the girls to those at palace. there were a lot of girls around, easily comparable to a busy night at the hessen club. i would definitely say that in terms of just great bodies there was a much higher proportion of such girls at artemis. indeed i only recall seeing one larger girl. for me though the prettiness and beauty of the face is as important, if not more so, than a great body. because of the lower light it was harder to ascertain this from a distance unless one got up and close to a girl or vice versa. it was a nice atmosphere and though some girls did approach me only a short while after i had eaten the (not very good cf. palace food) they were a lot less pushy. i liked that. total damage: 260 euros. i think the entrance is a bit steep and so is the 10 euro extra per half hour as when you spend as much time as i do the little extras add up! minus 1 for that. i think its horses for courses and overall neither club is "better" or "worse". it depends on the person (you) and on the girl you choose.

But briefly-my feeling with Bel Ami is that it could be a good place to visit-but not if you are not willing to drop a few euros. My impression of the place through the forum and talking with others is that they are looking for a certain monied clientele. If you do not pass muster you may not be treated particularly well. While I have no problem with a business targeting certain clientele, I personally have not much interest in going to such places.
