I haven't heard from you in a while. In regard to La Colina Suites, I never had a problem bringing women in. One day I had four different women come up at seperate times to see me and they didn't say anything. Marriott is pretty centrally located, is about 5 blocks from most of the discos/bars on jose calama, and is right across the street from NightKat. Not cheap though. Nice hotel. I have been inside of it and been in the VIP lounge (was with a guest). They have hotel taxis (SUVs) that can take you where you want to go for about the same price as a regular taxi.

There are several hostels on and around Jose Calama y reina victoria that run between $9-$15 per day. I've stayed in one and seen a few. They are all ok.

Yup. You're wasting your time with the locals. They don't give it up that easily in my experience. It's easy to get them to go to discos, etc. with you, but it's not as easy to get them in the sack. Stick with the chongos and discos(nightclubs) or you'll regret wasting so much time on them. You'd need more time to get to know them.

I’ve tried this brand new Hotel Boutique.

It is very well situated in the heart of Gringolandia.

Rooms are nice but not very big.

As the hotel is really on the main activity place of Gringolandia it is a bit noisy outside even if the rooms have double windows.

If you want to sleep in absolute quiet, find another hotel or ask for the rooms on the other side.

A table for the laptop is missing.

The bathroom is really small.

They have Free Internet by cable, but the cable is near the bed, so you have to navigate on the bed.

Breakfast is now a buffet, nothing especial but decent (eggs, ham, cheese, cereals, fruits, juice, tee, coffee, chocolate, bread, pastries)

Best thing is price for service : 55 USD + 22% taxes (after a hard bargain).

Oh ! I almost forget, they are Chicas friendly (no extra cost).

You should consider mongering the region: Quito, Ecuador; take the bus to Cali, Colombia (9 year bus ride;) monger Cali, Colombia.

I was dreaming of this TLN with Karina for almost a year now.

That's my biggest complaint with the hotel/hostel options in Quito if you're anywhere close to the action: the street noise is horrible. And all hours of the night. I finally just resolved myself to using ear plugs.

It seems to me that the poverty in Quito (can't speak for other cities, haven't been there) isn't nearly as bad as say Cartagena. The poverty seems to drive the attitudes of the women. The girls don't want their family to know what they do for a living. The non-hookers don't want to be viewed as a hooker. They don't give it up as quickly probably because their not as desperate and they don't want to look the part. In Colombia, all gloves are off. They do what they have to do to survive. Quito seems to be a much more thriving metropolis compared to Cartagena which is choked by drugs and poverty. Even the taxi drivers between the two cities are different: they are better dressed and more professional in Quito. In Cartagena, many of the taxi drivers double as drug dealers and they seem pretty sleezy. Of course, it's not true of all of them, but seems to be much more prevalent.
