While you were posting that a friend of mine was posting on another board that he has trouble juggling all the girls who want to visit his apartment for a few hours or for the night in return for a meal, or a cheap dress, or 1000 pesos. He does get the occasional bad apple but most of his girls are nice, honest, and pretty (6s. 7s or 8s) and wouldn't dream of trying on any BS, or if they try it once they soon learn differently or are shown the door.

While it is probably true there are many bad apples, there are just as many nice girls. Prolly pros and non pros. I believe I said this before, but showing respect can go a long way. Having a girl meet one at the airport and then being surprised she shows up with baggage and trying to brush her off is not very respectful or and example of genuine behaviour. While it is true that a lot of the working girls there just love to scam a sucker, there are IMHO just as many that are not like that and are just trying to make a living and improve their condition, which I believe is the right of any human being. First, I prefer Santo Domingo to the North Coast, but this is the Sosua board. Giving a girl US$500 for 3 days is quite nice. A friend of mine only makes US$100 or about 4, 000 pesos per month. So, that's about five months local salary. My gf would have left her mother and kid to stay with me for far less than US$500. Folks can spend their money as they please, but you can have a regular girl in Santo Domingo for far less than that, and she will cook for you. Now, you need Spanish and have to treat her with respect.

No one could really live independently on $4000 pesos per month as even a gua-gua ride to work and back 6 days per week could use half that money or more. 20, 000 pesos for three days sex work is still pretty good, though, and at that rate of remuneration, one would not expect to find much absenteeism.

I met this girl on my last trip back and April I spent a day with her she refuse 2 take money from me telling me she's not like the girls and sosuahats why I think she was different but from what I realise that was just her plan to get me. I have two things to say. Jarmondy seems to have changed the amount to 150 bucks from his previous mail of 500$. That is $50 a day and I would say it is about average that many in Sosua pay for night stay or less so he did not overkill.
I also find his candor disarming. Many despite making errors of judgmente would try to blow others off as if swagger is a great attribute. To my mind, he merits extra brownie points for his humility. The fact is no one can teach until one learns "experientially"!
