I went into top gun and the oldest working girl alive came to talk to me asking for a tip because she introduced me to a lady (that I was not interested in) saying that she needed food and she hadn't eaten. The next day around noon she shouted at me saying that she saw what I was doing and that she was watching me in a friendly tone but still creepy. Blok M is kind a disaster, I might have missed something when I went but for a newb and the uninitiated that area seems pretty dead.

On the other hand there is a bar south of there that i didn't goto but i heard about called "Nu China" that is supposed to have good looking girls in it.

Location is the whole Mangga Besar night market / street side stalls freelancers just make eye contact and ask if they speak english if they arent game they won't make eye contact and they won't want to continue a conversation with you. There are many pimps along this street as well and a good way to meet part time girls is to meet one of these working girls and ask them if they know any girls that are willing to date some girls are not willing to walk the streets but are willing to go on a date like movies or the mall. Outside this area in the rest of Jakarta I've been quoted anywhere from 750,000 to 1. 5 m. As for girl friendly hotels almost all of the hotels along Mangga Besar are girl friendly and a ton of short time hotels along that street which usually cost 100,000-250,000 for 3 hours. I usually opt for the short time hotel option and go back to my room worry free.

(basically a hostess) There are lots of good looking girls there, but if you don't have some game, it's not an easy pick up spot. Many girls in there will go home with a guy for money, but they would never call themselves a hooker. The blok M girls readily admit that they are hookers. Haha. 999 next door to Nu China is the same type of deal as Nu China. A guy recently mentioned Fabel near Pacific Place. That's a happening spot. Dragon Fly, Immigrant, there are lots of places you can go to meet girls. But expect to do a little work to pick them up in those type of places.

Blok M is basically dead, I wouldn't waste my time anymore going there.

Lokasari is the down market mall where the North Jakarta brothel girls shop to buy sexy clothes / shoes. I like to go there to buy sexy outfits for the girls I shag, but I haven't taken a girl from there for years. There are some free lance girls who hang out there often, but the quality isn't exactly high. Lokasari girls used to charge 300 k as a standard price and you can still get them for 300 k on occasion, but they want up to 500 k now. I haven't recently seen a girl at Lokasari who I consider to be quality enough to shag, but I do have indo friends who take those girls and tell me of their exploits. They share the fotos of the girls with me and I haven't seen a gem yet. Then again, you can find a gem anywhere in town so you never know. I did see a Blok M girl working Lokasari last time I went. She told me she works Lokasari in the day and My Bar late at night.

One thing as someone fairly new to Indonesia is I've been trying to find some Dangdut venues where you can meet more down to earth local girls. In thailand, Laos and the philippines I go to these local music places / festivals to pick up local girls. If you don't know what Dangdut is search it on youtube its modern popular indonesian pop and is sexualy suggestive. Some of these girls are just as pretty as IG models. It has been a goal of mine to bang some of these Dangdut superstars much more desirable than some ran through model a lot of them don't earn that much and spend most of their time performing. Some of these girls are unbelievably beautiful and sexy. The girls that hang out at the venues are also into Dangdut and may or may not be hopeful Dangdut artists. This is an area I'm going to get into in a few months on my next trip if anyone has any good locations for Dangdut feel free share. Most of the clubs posted here are like western oriented when in asia I tend to stay away from wester oriented attractions, take a more of a "When in rome" altitude. In my experience being in asia its much easier to find good girls when they feel comfortable. The western venues are kind of home ground for the foreigner and not the girls and that comes with some other expectations which makes them skittish or prompts them to ask for more money. When I meet girls in these music venues in other parts of asia they tend to let down their guard a little more and are open to meeting up for a few dates. I would like to hear if any locals have tried to work these Dangdut venues.

[/QUOTE]That information is like gold thanks for sharing that info, I never have any issues pulling girls if they are "working" girls of any kind. I might give it a shot its a LONG ways from where I usually stay but if I can find a stunner might be worth a shot. At the very least that's confirmation that that place has something going on in it.

About Lokasari it has 2 things for going it for a relative newb the price is right and there is a reasonable selection of girls not to mention 5 min walk either way has brothels if you happen to strike out with the freelancers. If there is a better venue that is reasonably priced and has a better selection with girls that know what is going on I'm in 100% I guess Lokasari is kind of downmarket as you point out its not real glamorous and it might be more for the local clientele but in that respect I have been happy with both the service and the appearance of the girls for the most part. The environment might be a little rough for some "bule" and you WILL get stares but I've never run into problems there other than a few stares. Mangga Besar is like the equivalent of the walk from nana plaza to soi cowboy on Sukhumvit Road it has that same kind of feel to me.

The sad thing about my not knowing a venue is that I love dangdut. It's my favorite type of music and I go to karaoke as often as possible in Jakarta and sing almost only dangdut.

One thing I worry about a dangdut venue is that when you watch the dangdut concerts on tv, the singer is always some hot chick grinding around on the stage, but close to 100% of the crowd are men. I envision a dangdut place to likely be a sausage fest.

Bangkok actually has sidewalks. I refuse to walk around Mangga Besar since it has no sidewalks and it's miserable walking around that crap area, but I have no problem walking down Sukhumvit. Sukhumvit is pretty damn nice.

Sukhumvit used to have a lot more street side eateries at around 1-2 am when working girls would get out of work. Indonesia for the most part is not really flush with western tourists. 10 years ago Bangkok was awesome and you could visit freelance bars and have a great time. Sometimes I walk down that road and I don't see a foreigner anywhere no backpackers its almost all locals for the most part. The meatheads have kind of invaded Thailand as they like to frequent thailand for training camps and super jacked men vs me if we are talking about a beauty contest that is way to much competition for me personally which is why I give Bangkok and thailand as a whole a wide birth. Indonesia has the feeling I had when I was in Bangkok 10 years ago. Thats one of the reasons I gave Indonesia a shot trying to find new hunting ground so to speak. Asian women with giant breasts I was instantly impressed and the price is certainly right. I sat down to eat some nasi goreng on Mangga Besar the food if you "like" it is EXTREMELY cheap and as authentic as it gets as well but these girls sat down next to me and I started a conversation that ended in a pull just hanging out in that area. I don't think this area is any kind of secret it is just a shithole like you pointed out and might be a little bit looked down on by a lot of your western tourists that sit on golden toilets but I love looking in the rough for gems not in jewelry stores, the grunge adds something for me I guess rather than detracts from the experience. Actually this is kind of a sane route this is nowhere near the bottom of the indonesian hooker scene right? The train side brothels and mini bars which I wanted to visit but never got the balls to go solo into have to be much more of a shithole than this street is.

I really enjoy the music as well it would serve as much as a cultural experience as it would hunting grounds. If I did visit one of these venues and came back empty handed I personally would be happy with just having a good time of course meeting a beautiful girl is always the goal. I imagine this has to be going on all over the place but I just don't have enough experience to find these venues I honestly walk 1-2 blocks outside of my hotel sometimes before I find something to occupy my time. Jakarta is new to me so I get distracted by the experience and asian girls with giant boobs I'm sure that will fade over time but it hasnt for me yet. This next trip I do plan to put more effort into the Dangdut thing.
