So getting back to the OP asking do the indictments surprise me? No, the lawyers bringing the charges against Trump are not "experts" but political hacks and those of us who know how the justice system works are not shocked about Trump getting indictments. Difference is we have better technology to measure things with now vs. 500 years ago. So science today is more precise than before, not perfect, just more precise.

Lobbing ACCUSATIONS is entertaining, but not reality based analysis of things.

Here's a thing about all this, I really don't care who goes to jail if they've committed crimes. If someone is found guilty in a court of law, then that should be straight forward as to the kind of person he / she is. Are their wrongly convicted people, sure 1% of convictions of white are overturned, while 4-6% of black are overturned. And before you try to play the racism card. I put those figures because I want to illustrate that 99% of white criminals who are convicted are correctly convicted. So if Fauci, being white, committed provable crimes, then the conviction would be deserved.
