I have been to San Jose myself (one time a few years ago) , but to my mind for the solo first time traveler overseas, Sosua is a much better destination. In San Jose it is generally considered not to be safe to walk the streets after dark. In Sosua, no such problems. San Jose is good if you want to do day trips to the volcano or tropical forest. For girls I think you will have more fun in Sosua, but then everyone's taste is different. San Jose is all strictly business, Sosua is business too, of course, but more social and laid back.

If you are comparing San Jose to Sosua women, I tend to like my options in San Jose better because you have a mix of women from several different countries. I've been visiting Sosua for about 10 years and I've seen some beautiful women, but when I got to the Del Rey in CR I liked the quality and level of maturity more. I've also had GFE in San Jose and Sosua.
San Jose has a good nightlife scene and many casas / strip clubs around town for variety in your mongering experience. We all know Sosua has a beautiful beach, Clasicos, Pasions, freelancers etc.
I've had great experiences with morenas from Limon and also Colombianas in San Jose, for those that like women with more color.
Costa Rica is not for everyone. Just like Medellin, Rio, Quito, etc. Are not for everyone.
IMO, Sosua requires less than other mongering locations to have fun. In addition, the new "commercialized" Sosua is still less hardcore, on average, than many other locations.

It appears to me, reading is getting progressively difficult, forget writing correctly in your native language and speaking intelligibly and if you do not call a woman, a hoe or a "female dog", you cannot get off. With this trend, the Chinese or even the Indians will, in another 50 years, come to the US to fuck the women (as we go to the DR now thanks to the greenback) as that will be the only business standing. So, I'm finally in Cabarete and have been here for a few days so far. I decided to dip into Passions in Sosua yesterday and after a few drinks, took one of the girls up to a private room. Her name was Carina. She was endearing, and although she spoke ZERO English, we were able to get through a conversation. I enjoyed her company enough to head back a second time for a TLN (overnight). The problem is, she didn't stay overnight.
After dinner, we headed back to my condo rental. She received a phone call not long after we arrived, and although I didn't know what she was saying, it sounded like there was a bit of commotion going on. I asked her what was wrong, and she said her sister got hurt and was in the hospital. Something about someone running into her, and her getting a cut. She didn't ask to leave immediately, but she also didn't stay the night. She left at about 11pm, after a dip in the bathtub and only one go-round. So, I really only had her for about 4 hours. Not to say 4 hours isn't a good chunk of time, but I paid for the night, and didn't get the night.
That said, however, I knew a bit more about her backstory (we talked over dinner) , and her as a person. So, I didn't throw a shit fit. But she could tell I wasn't particularly happy. That said, however, aside from the dissatisfaction in terms of time spent, I must have been more drunk than I thought last night. Because she wasn't all that great of a lay either. She had the nicest ass out of everyone in Passions, and she knows how to work the pole. But in the bedsheets, she kind of pales. She never seemed to have her head in the game. And, for me at least, I need some reciprocity to really be into it.
Anyway, nice enough girl. But not the right line of business for her. I don't recommend Carina. She has wavy dark red / pink hair, is about 5'6", and has the best bubble butt in the joint. But alas. A waste of money.
