Given the head's up on bar closures tonight, Sunday, headed out Saturday night instead. BarCrawler passed, but did hook up with Eric, of KSA fame.

Usual for a weeknight, and an early one at that: not crowded at all. As there were a number of western [i]civilian[/i] couples there, the 1st set was filled with more soft than hard sounds (you know it's bad when the band announces the tune, and there are [u]squeals[/u] of delight from the audience...) But, whatever they play, the band puts on a good show.

Hate to say it, but maybe I'm getting pegged even at Seaview: only one half-hearted job interview, and it was a slow night. Not that I was going to pull, what with Spinner's departure 2 hours earlier, but still... BC, your Miss [i]Heavy Marketing[/i] in jeans last night... the dress and boots [b]DO[/b] make a difference. Another wg, new face, was appealing; but given my full phone book, not worth it to even go over and collect a number. Couple of other familiar faces...

By the time we left, the bar had filled up a bit. 2 PRC's, on another night, I could have easily pulled; a third on the to-do list, [i]attached[/i]. No africans, that I saw anyway; the -stani contingent also in short supply. A couple of SQUAT CIS at the bar.

I was planning on heading home, after dropping Eric at Cyclone. But he made me an offer I couldn't refuse: he'd cover the entrance fees to Cylone... (What can I say? I'm a Cheap Charlie).

[i]Aaahhhh, Cyclone. I have fond memories of the place. My first time to dxb, only knew 1 word: Cyclone. Didn't know these forums; didn't know about any other places. Had only heard of Cyclone by word of mouth from other Middle East expats. You hear the tales, consider the location (Middle East), and DON'T believe.

Walking through the doors the first time... Well, actually the 2nd time. 1st time, I got there at 8 (wanted to get a good seat). Needless to say, only people around were a few amused waiters stocking the bar, politely telling me I should return in a couple of hours. That's when I found out that the food court at Wafi Mall was... nonexistent (again, not to say I was eager, but dinner? You can always eat dinner...).

So, the 2nd time, walking through those doors... what a sight! Like the 1st time a kid goes to Disneyland... so many E-ticket rides (showing your age if you understand that reference).[/i]

So agreed as long as I bought the 1st round.

Weeknight, 75dhs each for entrance, no drinks. [I'm thinking that given the change to Friday/Saturday weekend is OPTIONAL for the private sector, I can easily see Cyclone charging 85dhs for Wed/Thurs/Fri...]

Not crowded. Heavy on the PRC's; CIS and -stani population still sparse. Number of punters, but NO steady stream of exiting [i]couples[/i]. Took the opportunity of standing in the middle of PRC a-list row - definitely some beautiful eye-candy there, although, as I explained to Eric, I am basically invisible there. Did notice a distinct lack of [i]sharp[/i] outfits; jeans the overwhelming preference. :(

Some notable faces absent, but still, a number of familiar faces. Only job interviews I got were either directly from newly arrived PRC's where the CIA intel had not reached them, or some familiar mentors marketing newbies ("This my friend, she here only 1 week/2days/etc." ). Unfortunately, the proffered newbies... let's just say that not all wg's who are at Cyclone will stay at Cyclone once they're weaned...

Did exchange glances with one PRC newbie (to me, anyway) , who, in her innocence, came over for a job interview (helped that she knew Spinner). No job that night, but did get her number for a more [i]intense[/i] personal interview another time.

Eric and I made several circuits of the CIS [i]regions[/i]. 1st, before midnight, was a desert. By 12:30, some blooms had appeared, but nothing to really make me consider moving my preferred scenic location. Let Eric make a 3rd circuit alone as I was fine where I was.

Thought I recognized the York girl from a couple of years ago, last year moving up to the Cyclone majors. Truth - she looks better [u]every time[/u] I see her. Stuck my head in to confirm. Her reply to my non-PC comment about her having lost 20 lbs and REALLY looking [i]lean and mean[/i]: "No money, cannot eat", made me regret our falling out over due compensation. She IS one of the top a-listers now.

Another pair stopping by for an interview, my asking where they were from was met by one with a "I [b]HAVE[/b] been to your house." My senility really kicking in; did not recognize the face from last year, but did remember the name once she gave it; nice girl. Bit surprised she said hello, given that I had simply stopped returning her calls last year... my bad.

Finally, a newbie/mentor pair across the aisle, the newbie obvious by her not making eye contact with ANYONE. I walked over, told her she reminded me of Zhang ZiYi. She did not understand ("No English") , but Mentor did, and translated. Miss Zhang not amused, but did get a nice smile from Mentor. Returning to my position across the aisle, Mentor leaned in, and, I'll assume, told Miss Zhang she should go "talk" to me. The look of disgust that flickered across her face was something to behold, the thought of having to [i]entertain[/i] someone perhaps not quite as old as her [u]grand[/u]father, but certainly older than her father... In an act of [u]extreme[/u] hubris, I returned, explaining I was only there to drink. This time, I got the "stink eye" from BOTH of them, as in "why would you ever think either of us would be interested..." I can only plead exhaustion... it was past my bedtime.

Made my excuses to Eric, and headed home. But Cyclone remains Cyclone; there IS a reason it is an institution here.

Sorry to sound like a request ..but it is...I am arriving back v late Friday/early Saturday morning so Saturday is OK not Friday as not in AD, in fact back for 2 days strating today really before I fly again.

PM if OK and if so I can arrnage for a Filipina or 2 or 3...seem to be getting lots of calls now, business must be quiet or I am just a great guy with great technique ;)

We can go around a few bars after, before. Loso69 and I did similar with Alex and Mikka who are good fun and are keen to see me again (can't be the money surely...).

Arriving at the hotel about midnight and straight to the bar on first level.

It was very noisy there and Arabic music was playing all time, really not the place I like to be.

But a couple good looking CIS girls hanging and dancing around so that I was lost for the first night.

Have seen my absolute favourite on the bar but she was with someone else together.

Ok, I had to decide for second best.

Her name I didn't remember, but remember that she was absolute dominant in the room and I had to do nothing, just relaxing. Not such a bad experience but not what I want.

Next night about 11PM next try. My favourite was not there. I was sitting at the bar and spoke to the barkeeper He was wondering that I refused a couple girls they want to take a glass with me. So I told that there was the night before another girl and with my description he said that she would come for sure later.

He was right and if she was coming, he told her that I was waiting for her. So we take a lot of beer, whisky and everything else what lets brain flying. This girl could drink so much, I had never seen before, in the room she made my bar empty but not the bar only. I had a crazy night and she left early in the morning.

Before leaving she gives me her number and said I should call her next day to take dinner together and going out somewhere else.

Last night, after a long meeting I was coming late back to the hotel and was absolute tired.

So I was sleeping. Around midnight waked up, shit. Send message to my favourite but she answered that she is sorry but far away from Dubai. Ok, back to the bar again. Third night everybody knows me and I was taking drinks with another girl. Together to my room and we had a good time with some kind of girlfriend s. After first round she takes her phone to show me a picture from her cat (not from her pussy),

We were going true the photo gallery on the phone and there was a picture from here and my favourite sitting in a flat! I asked how is this? And she told me that that's her best friend and that they are living together in Dubai. So now it was time to show her some pics I take from her best friend the night before and we had a lot of fun. She told me that her friend has drunken so much the night before that she was not able to come today. We had a good time together but at 6AM I had to leave for my plane.

Summary: I have never spoken about money until next morning and no girl has asked for some. At leaving I gave all of them 80 Euro as a tip and they was absolute agree with this.

So my experience in Dubai is very good. But friends, if you have some girls asking in the bar for 500-1000 Dirham, just tell them that must be a joke and let them wait. There are enough girls and they will go even for less. Not only the girls must work for the money.

Saturday night, at Seaview, suddenly remembered I had a time critical task. Needed to rectify one of the last consequences of the long-time Miss T's abrupt departure, courtesy of LE. Her [i]sister[/i] was having an [i]orderly[/i] departure back home this week, and I wanted to pass over a cd with all of Miss T's photos on it. And, in following with [i]sport[/i] traditions, officially retire her jersey, well, [i]sleeping t-shirt[/i] anyway, passing it over to sis to take to her in China.

Exchanged some sms's with sis, bit relieved she was not leaving on Monday, but Wednesday. Plenty of time to meet. She just happened to call me late Saturday night (well, actually early Sunday morning, 1am) just as I got home from the Cyclone. Could hear bar sounds; she was calling from the [i]office[/i]. She was as mystified that I was still awake as I was with her calling at that hour. Calling to confirm the Wed departure, and ask me, when I talked with Miss T in China (unintential pun) , to say she would be home on the 23rd. Fine.

Talked to Miss T Sunday afternoon, passing on the message. Today, Monday, drove into town during the afternoon to meet Sis, 36 hours after talking with her. Should have planned better; her phone was switched off. Tried several times; no luck. Could it be she caught an earlier flight? I was hoping it was just the mobile needing a recharge. Cursed myself for not taking care of this Sunday afternoon. Well, would just have to try tomorrow.

Then, early this evening, my mobile rings. Unknown number. It's a friend of Miss T's; Sis has been detained by LE; that's why the phone is off.

But, and here's my point, the CIA had swung into action. The friend knows (How? Sis mentioned? Call from China?) I want to send a gift to Miss T, she's taking care of packing up Sis's bags, so if I get the gift to her tomorrow, she will include it in the packed bags. Damn, my embassy should be so organized.

The other point is: OBVIOUSLY, detentions still occurring (obviously, they never stop). I would think that Sis was making the visa runs, so did have a valid visa (will try and confirm). Wrong place, wrong time; perhaps still there at closing. Regardless; another disorderly departure, and only 4 days before her scheduled one.
