Gents,
Staying at the JW for a few nights next week. Is there any action visiting the bar at the JW or nearby within walking distance.
Thanks.

I never pay more then $50 bucks a night and I stay in very decent accommodations. My hotels are always guest friendly and near the action.

Dear Old Kool,
I can understand that JWM costs more than 50.
Can you please specify once again GF and budget hotels near the area of action.
I belong to budget class, so can you tell me how much to pay for FS for ST as well as for entire night equivalent in USD.
Thanks

Hotel Casa conde is nice and in that price range. It has a new name now. Savoy I think. It is a stones throw from Paco grands.

The problem with casa Conde Savoy is, usually it is full.
Any similar hotel?
Thanks.

Thanks.
I'll be at the JW in the near future as well. Wondering if they have a bar onsite or anything nearby that would be convenient for someone with limited free time!?
Savoy / Casa Conde is very new. The furnishings and rooms are new. The rooms are small but nice. There are many other hotels close in price and features. I am not real picky. I want a place to sleep and something to keep my drinks cool. I would troll Priceline for hotels. There are many price options. El Conde is very safe and tourist friendly. There are many places to eat and street walkers are easy to fine. There are rip off artist looking for low hanging fruit so watch your back.

The Palacio is on Duarte and right off the Conde. I've stayed there several times. Chica friendly, small restuarant for breakfast, parking and a small pool.

Thanks.
I've noticed a lot more bad reviews the last 6 months on Savoy Hotel Boutique. This hotel may be going through a phase of lesser quality right now.
I've stayed here several times since they opened a couple years ago, but am considering other options at this point.
Roma II Hotel at El Conde & 19 de Marzo has always been a consistent value for me with a much better location.
Spirit air has it challenges but if you are on a budget you can fly round trip for under $400 bucks. Leaving from the DC area I can be there by 2 pm and returning flight leaving at 3:50 getting me home at 11 pm. Other air lines use your whole day traveling. I am considering a run at SD next month. SD requires you to make your own party but I know how to do that. I might do a day in Boca Chica.
Spirit is awesome if you know what you are dealing with and can deal with their setup. You are correct about not wasting your time. The fastest connections from DFW to MDE or SDQ are via Spirit. If I actually wanted to pony up and go on some other carrier, they would have me sitting in Mexico City for at least 12 hours and getting me there the next day, or making me make two connections via Charlotte and then JFK or some stupid *******, routing, all for the same price of a round-trip ticket to Thailand (no, I am not exaggerating). And when Spirit has empty seats, they drop the prices about three weeks in advance. It paid like $218 rountrip to Medellin in April, for a relatively simple flight via FTL that got me there before 2 PM, and the rest of the day free to do as I wish. Early afternoon trip back allowed me a visit to an upscale brothel for a rubdown and a deluxe shower before departure.
Just understand the baggage restrictions and you will do fine. No, their idea of carry on doesn't jibe with the rest of the world. But, someone has made a special Spirit size (small) carry on, which won't get a second glance from the ground personnel. I found mine on eBay for about $25. Buy those tiny bottles of liquor, within TSA allowances and no pricey drinks. Bring some snacks with you or eat a large meal before you leave. Don't buy anything at FTL Airport. Anything sold by the shops there is a total ripoff (like $8 for a can of Budweiser). Plan ahead and save your money for mongering.
I did a round trip to Atl for $70. Flight was cheapest part of my trip. Spirit flies to many great locations all over the Caribbean. I am not sure why but their flights to Santiago are terrible just like the other airlines. The prices are so good I am considering one more trip before the end of the year. My whatapp girls are begging for 1 more shot. Having 20 something girl asking to me sexed by a 60 plus guy is what dream are made of. Knowing they are there to be had is hard to resist.
Old Kool I know you like the Hotel Palacio. It's chica friendly if I register for two right?

.
Righton. Thanks. Good to hear about spirit, too.
Has anyone had any good experiences with AirBnB in Santo Domingo?
