Almost got into a physical altercation w / a fucking, dumb-ass American POS this afternoon at Bar Central.

Have been astutely aware of his presence for several days. He is not easy to ignore (white guy. 50-55 yrs.) as every second word out of his filthy mouth is "fuck" and "shit." And he has an obvious disregard for women in general, and certainly for the women that have to work the streets.

Anyways, this POS was at Bar Central when Euro2012 was broadcast live. Plenty of customers present wanting to watch the live video. He takes a call and basically hi-jacks the place as his personal office space for 20 min. Other patrons complain to him in German as to whether he maybe could tone it down so that they could also listen to the audio commentary. His response: "This is a LD call."

At that point of time, I basically translated the customers' concerns very clearly into AE. He stormed out and threatened me from 50 yards away. What a piece of human garbage!

I stayed 3 days. I am a dark skinned guy which may have kept the soliciting crowd at bay while they try to pounce on the white skinned guys. Entirely possible but in my short experience, it never was as dramatic as I read here. A firm "no, thank you" was more than enough.

I think it boils down to this: some guys genuinely enjoy hanging out with prostitutes. I'm not one of those guys. I enjoy screwing prostitutes, and I enjoy hanging out with regular people. Sosua is no place for such a guy. I didn't meet a single "regular person" local in the DR. Everybody had an angle. I'm not saying that nobody should go, but I prefer Guatemala City or San Salvador, where I can go to an establishment of ill repute, drink a beer, have porn star sex for an hour, drink 2 more beers, have more sex, and then leave and spend the remainder of the evening in the company of normals. The problem with Sosua is that you can never just leave.

I've been to 17 of 20 Latin American countries, and I've never dealt with people so pushy as the DR. If I go back, I'll be going to Santo Domingo.

I thought this board was just guys shooting the breeze about different places they have been and offering up opinions. I just found Sosua to be a little intense is all. I didn't even say I had a bad time. As I said in a previous post, I was on the island already, and dropped by Sosua. I just didn't find it all that relaxing, which is what I want on a beach vacation.

Look, I didn't tell anyone not to go to Sosua, and didn't suggest we burn it to the ground. I just said I didn't like it as much as some other places I've been. I didn't mean to start a big fight, I just thought I'd offer a counter-opinion on the forum, which maybe isn't cool. Different people like different things, I think we have to agree on that.

Would someone in the know post the prices charged by Passions and CMP for both one hour short-tiime onsite vs TNL take out. It would also be nice to know what the chicas % is of this fee to better figure what an appropriate tip is if one is given. On the subject of tips at these two places- do any of the the Passions / CMP regular customers on this forum know if a standard tip is expected?

Every so often you read reports from DR vacationers on non-mongering boards who report that their whole vacation was RUINED because of people soliciting them on the streets to buy things.

Now I have been to the DR numerous times and to me occasionally these things are a minor irritation, but never to the point that I even give it a second thought after the fact.

However, the author does suggest that in the US he carries a gun or knife concealed in his pants in case someone touches him, so possibly he is a bit paranoid at the best of times.

Next 2 days we were just talking, but she would disconnect in the middle of convversation and not come back for a few hours or at all. I played hurt and asked her why she doesn't want to talk with me and so on. She said it was her internet and that she is tired from studying.

About 2 days later. She starts talking about some exam she needs to write. She claimed to be a doctor and wanted to move and work in the US. She said the exam is $1000, but her mom will pay for it. Then yesterday I get a text on my phone and an email:

"mi madre me dio 700 dolares. Creo que en verdad me los devolvio por que cuando yo trabaje. Le ayudaba mucho. El examen es en 15 dias pero tengo que pagarlo en lunes para no quedarme afuera se septiempre. Estoy un poco desconsertada."

To which she replied that it was over between us because I always doubt her. LOL.

Sorry for my rambling, but I thought this was an appropriate reply to NavDude's question. This girl appeared very innocent, she faked tears and joy really well and if I wasn't as jaded as I was I would have believed her. 100% professional acting. Very good.

I am willing to bet it is not over yet either.

As far as I am concerned it was a good investment on my part sending her a little money. I got a good insight into the character and motivation of these girls.

The lesson to be learned here is that use Cupid only to line up chicas for a GFE. Never fall in love or try to seek a serious relationship. 99% are pro's.
