Bangkok Reports

Arrived around 19:30, a bit jaded due to the travel. Staying at the Westin Grand, very girl friendly and good rooms also is in an ideal location. Paid a visit to a couple of bars on soi 7/1 nothing much happening not many farangs around, bar girls very quiet. Tried the beer garden on soi 7 this was very busy and quite a few ladies inside prowling, spent sometime talking with Nam who was quite pretty. The problem with Nam was she was too switched on, she had spent time in the middle east and talked how the market had been spoiled for her by the Chinese, she wouldn't discuss price but I got the feeling she was looking at 2000baht minimum. I headed back to the hotel alone and was called by a couple of street urchins sat on the wall outside the hotel, both were good looking and friendly, took what appeared to be the eldest of the 2 back to my room, I would guess she was around 25 and a cracking body on her, damage was a 1000baht and she gave me a really good massage also.

In Bangkok right now. I've been to the banks reported to open accounts without a work permit, and got declined.

I've been to 2 Bangkok Bank agencies. 2 Siam Commercial Bank agencies, and one K-Bank (5 tries total). All said they couldn't open an account without a work permit.

I made an effort to look clean-cut (dress shirt, clean jeans, leather shoes etc) and I have about 4K USD to deposit. I have no idea why this is so hard. I mean, what could possibly go wrong for them? I'm DEPOSITING money, not taking a loan.

Anyway, any pointer as to what to do here? I've read that if declined, one should just try another agency, but this seems harder than previously reported. I might try a few more agencies this afternoon.

Go back to the bank and you will probably be successful.

Also give K Bank or Kasikorn? Green sign and logo. In Pattaya, Inside Carrefour branch, they told me to just bring Passport and a receipt from hotel staying and they will open the account. I passed this on to a friend and was able to open with those items.

Like most things here it is inconsistent. But give them a try in Bangkok.

The only thing I needed was an address. Even a hotel should work, unless they have changed the rules.

I think the only chance you have (assuming you are a tourist) is to go to a NON-Thai bank. Like Citibank for example.

I have many Accounts in Thai Banks, have been working here for Years and make a very High Salary. But these fuckers still won't give me a credit card. They prefer to give it to Somying or Somchai who will spend the money they don't have.

Citibank was the only bank to not deny me a credit card. (Amex as well of course)

The last day was a bit of a bummer as I wanted to have at least two shots and still reach airport at 6 am.

Did not start that well. Victoria massage soi 39 had no one available till 2 pm, did not find Koop and ice at angelmassage. Nothing new at mango or SW so waited for grace at Victoria. I think a lot has to do with the skin, being smooth, usual petit body frame (of a teenager) and there you go. I had a 50year old who could easily pass for 40 if not a bit less.

Still it comes a point when age takes over and the usual normal signs do come out for them too.

Very interesting anyhow as this can be observed quite broadly in the whole Asian worlxcwith few exceptions.

Unless things have radically changed I have opened up a KTB account in Exchange Tower at Asoke and up in Nongbulampoo, I have opened a Kasikorn account in the same two places two. And all with a passport, NO work permit, tourist visa.
