General Info

Does anyone know the dependability of the mail in Colombia? If I order something from the U. S. , what are the chances of receiving it? Working for the Post Office in Thailand is like having a license to steal.

Cartagena is the safest from what I hear and experienced and also gets the most tourists from around Colombia too. Also, I speak just a little spanish and got by fine there.

It is my opinion that Medellin is the best place for a gringo to visit. :) I would never recommend you come to Cali because of the safety and language factor, and if you like nightlife, Cartagena really does not have much to offer. It is a big city, but very small at the same time.

KT[/QUOTE]It is zero. There are private shippers like FedEx. However, Colombian customs can make your experience hell.

Just don't do it.

If cost and comfortable weather are your biggest priorities I'd pick Medellin, otherwise Cartagena. Bogota would be my #3 choice, and Barranquilla a distant #4. I've never been to Cali or Bucaramanga, but from what I've read they wouldn't be good choices for someone with intermediate language ability who's concerned about crime.

KT[/QUOTE]I have shipped boxes through the U.S. mail to Bucaramanga and so far have not had any problems.It normally takes at least 3 to 4 weeks to arrive in Colombia.

The only good way to get stuff into Colombia like that is to use a good re-shipper from NYC or Miami.

In Medellin, what is the prevalence Of Karaokes in residential barrios, like Santa Monica and Bello? Living in Pattaya, I am sick of listening to drunks moaning at maximum volume ALL NIGHT. Are there any barrios that are actually quiet at night?

KT[/QUOTE]With the exception of and Friday or Saturday all-night party maybe once a month, Santa Mónica is fairly quiet between 10:00 pm and 5:00 am as long as you are not too close to a main street.

Conquistadores is a little noisier especially near la 65.

I spent a month in Barrio La Paz in Envigado in an urbanizacion a few years ago. That was very quiet.

Here is some good humor I am sure many of you guys can relate to, but you have to wonder what these girls are thinking. Today, I received an email letter from a girl from Cartagena, who I have actually set up several guys from the forum with. I have not heard from her for approximately 3 months or so. When I did hear from her last, she was cursing me out because she saw me talking to another girl in LDV. To make a long story short, she writes in her email about how she misses me and desires me everyday, but the funny part of it is, she has sent this same message to 16 other guys, as all the email addresses of the guys are shown on her email to me. I write her back and tell her thank you, but you have sent this same message to many others. She then writes me back and tells me the message is especially for me, that the other guys were just amigos. She then proceeds to tell me how I have all these girlfriends in Cartagena, and how she has followed me out of LDV on a couple of occasions, and saw a girl and me go into my apartment, which is several blocks from LDV. I then respond back to her, that yes I do have many friends in Cartagena who are just that, friends, not sex partners. ;) Of course, then I receive a message telling me I am nothing but a liar, but she still loves me. Now why is it, these girls can write 16 guys, but it is not alright for us to be with another girl? This has always mind fucked me.

He then claimed I am a serial antagonist, which I responded to, because I pointed out in facts that his claim of me being a serial antagonist is solely based on his personal animosity towards me, because of the fact I am not afraid to call him out when he is wrong, such as his antagonistic post against Johnath12 on the The Down Under Group's Medellin Mansion thread, post # 3561, in which he called Johnath12 the biggest pussy on the forum, and the fact I do not kiss his ass, or the asses of his friends, such as Aussie Greg. Unfortunately Jackson chose not post my response to his claims, which is what you can expect these days.

But lets be real here? Many of these girls that we "associate" with, have some MAJOR problems. This is why some have some major drinking/drug problems. Of course, SOME of these girls. Do this for a job but the reality is that we will come accross a Higher rate of crazies than the general population.

What is funny is that she sent the same Email to other guys without realizing it and will still hold on to the folly! ? If she was an American, she would probably still believe everything that our President says as Gospel truth!

I am not upset about this. I think it is funny. I have no emotional attachment what so ever to any of these girls. I was simply pointing out the delusional way of thinking of these girls. I do however disagree with you on your drug/alcohol claims. It is my opinion most of these girls are to lazy to actually have to work at a normal type of job, or they are in the business out of necessity to support there families, and cannot make the money to do so in a normal type of job. I do not believe for one minute most have drug and alcohol problems. It is also my experience with Colombianas, that they love to claim you as there property, even after one date, despite the fact they work in the sex industry. This is the part that mind fucks me.
