Bar Tropical is not behind any business, but instead it is located on the Northeast corner of the intersection of Coahuila Ave, and Nino Heroes.

If you leave HK's north entrance and walk east on that sidewalk, the next business entrance is the stairway leading upstairs to Cascades' (smaller) north entrance. The next business to the east is Las Chavelas Bar. The next building to the east is a medium sized church. The next business to the east is Monte Carlo restaurant, then the entrance to Hotel Coahuila (above Adelitas). The next business to the east after that is Adelitas Bar. The next business to the east is Hotel Garcia and the last business to the east on that one block (on the corner of Coahuila Ave. & Constitution) is La Gloria Bar.

Yeah, the whole "Go Green" approach at Ticuan is a little ridiculous. I really don't like the key thing when you enter the room every time. The same goes for controlling the A / see, but once you get it working, it is just fine. As for the Wi-Fi, yes. I have been very pleased with it upon my last 2 to 3 visits.

I have always enjoyed staying at Ticuan. The only draw-back is that it is really a fairly long walk to the Zona, but only a 4 to 5 minute cab ride at most. The food is good there, the service is also quite decent and it is generally pretty quiet. The Wi-Fi access is also a real plus as well as the room itself in terms of amenities and size. Hotel Ticuan is right next door to Las Pulgas (dance club) which gets going pretty good on Thurs-Sun in the late evening and there is a Caliente Casino and Sports book across the street. As for room prices, the "Habitatcion Sencilla" (Basic room) is around $60-$70 during the week and about $90 to $100 on the weekend. I usually like to stay there my last night in Tijuana so that I can get decent sleep and quiet. I then take a taxi to the Zona late in the evening to have some fun, then taxi back 3 or 4 hours later to Ticuan and head to the ligna right after around 2 am. Hope this helps a bit.

If I might piggy-back on your description a bit, it's my 'go to' hotel when I need to decompress from the 24/7 action in La Zona, and a perfect counter balance to a couple of nights at Cascadas. It's also a great place to meet up with the escorts of your choice. Ammusingly, the front desk ocassionally sports a young, decent looking chica from time to time, but they will treat you with a professional disdain that only Latinas seem to be so damn good at. They know precisely why you are a solo male, staying at the Ticuan.

Breakfast is quite well done in the hotel lobby restaurant. BTW, I find the brisk 10-15 min walk to the Zona both refreshing and interesting. It's perfectly safe in the daytime, using your big city awareness skills of course, and you'll see a bit of Tijuana other Mongers rarely get to sample, but should. Walking back after nightfall might be nerve wracking for some, primarily because the streets are deserted late at night. No worries, though, as cabs are plentiful and inexpensive from the Zona.

Caprese7 makes a good point on the noise emanating from Las Pulgas and I've been roused out of a deep chica-induced sleep more than once by some idiot practicing his trumpet at high volume at 6:00 AM. Best to request a room facing away from the club when you check in.

Go and enjoy a little different part of Tijuana. It's all part of a great experience.

The music from Pulgas is loud. It is far from the Zona. There might be some left over leakage from the medical patients. And you may be risking your life, a monger even set the place on fire once while trying to romance a ho with candles.

Yes, I agree about the talent at the front desk. There is usually a cute little brunette latina that works there in the mid-afternoons. And yes, this is a very smart go-to choice after a couple of nights in the Zona at Cascadas. The restaurant does do a very nice job as you mentioned and the walk to the Zona is refreshing and fairly safe as long as you do it in the daytime. Still, I usually taxi down since I generally sleep / rest in the afternoon and early evening. As for the noise from Las Pulgas, yes. It is best to request a room facing away from the club, but I am usually awake around 7 am or so which is well before the noise gets going over there. Then, I usually head to the ligna around 2 am, so the noise at Las Pulgas is rarely an issue for me.

Not sure if we are "selling it", but it has proven to be a nice alternative to Cascadas and the Zona on the 3rd night for me. I have yet to have a bad stay there and the service and amenities are much better. The music at Las Pulgas rarely bothers me since I am not in the room anytime after 7 or 8 am. Once I head in a taxi to the Zona for a while, I usually come back to Ticuan, pack my bags and head to the ligna around 2 am. It is true what you say however regarding reservations....you really do have to book your room well in advance for weekend stays.

I really appreciate all of the great information in your post, as well as other posters. I feel quite comfortable that I can make my way to La Zona without any problems now. Hopefully, I can absorb all the information that I have learned and put it into practice out in the field.

I am quite excited about this trip and all of the support this forum provides is fantastic. My only fear is that I will enjoy myself too much and that the mere thought of making return trips in the future will start to drain my bank account. LOL. I think for my initial trip I might try and stay in La Zona and satisfy my inner adventure at a later date. Though an excursion would be welcomed if I happen to meet some cool people.

Anyway, I have yet to decide if I want to subscribe to this forum on a permanent basis. I am well aware of the benefits it may provide and after my first trip I will surely consider membership. Especially if I see this particular pleasure as being a stable in my yearly plans. So, I look forward to Thursday and should arrive at around 3 pm if everything goes smoothly. We are in Tijuana now by the way, so you are likely to find us in either Las Chavelas or La Gloria Bar between 7:30 pm and 2 or 3 am. There should be at least 2 of us and probably 3. Oh, and if you get the chance, do check out Honk Kong Club (I find it a bit overrated to be honest - for the experience that is), but try to get to "Adelitas" around 11pm or 12am tonight and check out the scene. My trip to Tijuana has sadly concluded again. Another great time down there and felt like a pro from the wealth of info provided on this forum. Another big thank you to everyone. I'm not sure how much new info I can provide, but nevertheless wanted to share my experience. I arrived on Sunday and getting to the border turned out to be quite a challenge. I waited an hour for the 992 bus and traffic was a nightmare because of some festival / event going on in San Diego. It took around 2 hours to get from the airport to the border. There was actually a bit of a line to enter Mexico presumably due to the holiday. Once in Mexico I took the second cabbie's offer of $5 (down from the first offer of $10) to take me to Cascadas. It took about 30 minutes to get checked into my room because there were so many people taking chicas arriba and only one person working the front desk. I got a single room on the 6th floor and tipped the workers to get an abundant supply of towels, toilet paper, etc for my 4 day stay. The room was clean, bed was fine, and the wifi was much stronger than my previous trip and I never lost connection once.

Once showered and settled in I went to Oxxo to get a bottle of water and bag. I then went to Piri and got a 4 pack of Figaral for the same 56 pesos as indicated on here. I put the pharmacy bag inside the Oxxo bag to avoid any unnecessary confrontation with the police just for precautionary measures. Police presence seemed to be a lot higher than my first trip. I routinely saw police trucks (often loaded with offenders in the back) cruising up and down the alley. I went to Hong Kong and got my VIP coupons printed out and can confirm that VIP members can indeed print out the free drink and 1/2 off dance coupons every 12 hours, which I did throughout my entire trip. The streets were buzzing with locals and turistas Sunday and Monday but then slowed down substantially Tuesday.

Hong Kong club truly is a magical place. You walk in there and the energy is second to none. Unfortunately the meseros seemed to be even more aggressive than my previous trip and that really takes a lot of the excitement out of it for me personally. The most fun I had in Hong Kong this trip was on a slow Tuesday with a 27 year old bubbly woman named Nissan (who made it a point to tell me several times that she drove a Mini Cooper). She lived in Las Playas, two kids, thick in the right places, with a lot muscle hidden under that thickness. I wanted to go arriba with her but her shift was almost over and she said she had to get her kid. We spent the remainder of her shift in the lap dance booth. Best "dance" I've gotten in HK and she offered everything up right there but I declined (too cramped in there). I told the mesero to lose track of time while in the booth like I always do with success, however this time when I left the booth there were two meseros and a manager all with their hands out. I gave the manager the tip intended for my mesero and left. I know I will probably catch some heat for this, but throughout my entire trip I didn't go arriba with a single woman from Hong Kong. I got my free drinks and half off dances and would hit the streets.

Many of the same faces in the alley behind Cascades and a few new ones. I went with all my favorites, Wendy, Charlene, and Natasha. All really sweet, sexy, and fun and I was surprised that many of the women I was with my first trip actually remembered me. There was a new woman (at least new to me) there in high demand who stood outside Cascadas during the day and often wore leopard / cheetah print skimpy dresses. I overheard someone negotiating with her and she declined an offer of $40. I searched for a woman that one of the bros shared on here named Cathy / Katrina but couldn't find her. Maybe next time. I expanded my comfort zone a bit this trip approaching a few women working on Constitucion, but many of them wouldn't go to Cascadas and after some horrid experiences in other countries with ST rooms, I didn't want to return to them in Tijuana. I cannot say enough good things about Natasha. She's been in the game for several years but she doesn't act like it. She stands out in front of Azul at night. She is hands down my favorite woman in the alley and I really haven't seen many others talking about her on here. My last night she came up to say good bye at around 2 am. I was over sexed and sleep deprived and she just hung out laying in bed talking, groping, and dare I say cuddling for 90 minutes or so. I gave her some money for spending time with me one last time and being so sweet. I will be sure to mail out some Save the Date cards to everyone on here soon, haha.

Similar to my last trip, I spent a lot of time hanging out on the rear balcony overlooking the alley. I met a some really cool people out there on both trips and it's always fun to share stories. One guy I met was like a Tijuana historian who had been visiting for over 25 years and I really enjoyed hearing about the history and development of La Coahuila over the years. One interesting experience I wanted to share about the balcony. I struck up a conversation with one of the Cascadas employees out there mopping. I told him I was looking for new chicas. He said he could call the perfect girl who just started working a few days ago (which probably means a hardened vet, haha). About ten minutes later a young woman named Mariana shows up at the door of the balcony in a skimpy bikini top. If she is new, I'm sure she will do very well, although I didn't take her up. She was too tall for my tastes with braces and she wanted 1,000 pesos (which some of would have gone to the Cascadas employee no doubt for the referral). I just found this new sales technique pretty convenient, a woman was brought up and presented to me versus me going hunting in the alley.

A quick note on Las Chavelas. I do agree with what many have said on here recently concerning the quality of women in there compared to the other bars. I found that the women weren't all necessarily more gordo but definitely older on average. I found myself relaxing in there a couple times between sessions and struck up a conversation with a lovely older woman named Abril. She was in her thirties and kept her body in pretty good shape. I told her that I was tired from my eventful day in Tijuana and she started kissing my neck and massaging me. I commented on how good her massage felt and she said she could come and hang in my room and give me a very nice massage. It was 2 am at this point and I said I would take her up on her offer the following day. I returned the following day looking for her but could not find her. I ended up doing the same deal plus BJ with another woman named Ellen?? She was older and did not have a body like Abril, but I really wanted a massage so I took her up for 700. Great massage and BJ / HJ and really no mention of time limits. I actually had to get her moving on her way after about 2 hours. The value was definitely there and I will return to LC my next trip seeking out the same type of arrangement after days of mongering.

Lastly, I just wanted to again express my gratitude to everyone on this forum. For me Tijuana is whatever you want it to be. When I visit it is for multiple days so I didn't put pressure on myself with a required number of pops per day, etc. I think I did that my cherry trip and got worn out. This trip was way more relaxing and rewarding for me. I spent time on Revolucion daily and can definitively agree with an earlier recommendation of Giuseppes. Surprisingly wonderful Italian food at under $10 per person sin alcohol. El Corriente is still one of my favorites as well. A lot of construction going on in Revolucion and the bike police were all smiles. No police confrontations for me my entire trip anywhere in Tijuana. All in all, sexy gorgeous women, great food, met some good people, and had a wonderful time. Only question remaining now is how soon I will return for my third trip.

I'll have to try Las Chavelas again. Been there twice. The first time it was afternoon and nearly deserted. The second time it was with a chica I brought from HK (coals to Newcastle, but I had a great time with her). I like women (as opposed to girls), so I'll have to try Las Chavelas on a popular evening.
