There have been cases wherein newbies have screwed up big time. And a few seniors have lost some good contacts also for the newbies foolishness, yours truly included. Contacts which have been painstakingly cultivated with a lot of time, money and effort. Write some fr's. Post your experiences and you will get a lotta info in return, not every senior asks for contacts in return. The hi end bracket requires personal introductions as well sometimes, as you have experienced through your friends. Hi end mongering does not necessarily mean that budget is always the issue. Agreed all of us seniors also started with a few contacts, but we gained also due to our senior's and friend's largesse and our common sense.
Buddy you are new here [ as you urself said], patience is a virtue and confidence is something that you will need to build with the forum friend's. That will happen in due course.
And one more thing, we are all sailing in the same boat, so we the so called seniors are also your friends. It's upto you how you are going to build your rapport
