First off, thanks to the members of the board for all the info. Made my trip almost spotless. Been studying for over a year (was suppose to go last August, but was weathered out). With all the info, I actually believed myself when I would tell a chica I had been there before.
Good narration, clean and chronological writing. Thanks. I liked the "David Stern" bit as a nice closing touch of humor. One thing I did not get was your sense of excitement. Did it sound flat or did you have some highs. I do not mean drink wise?
The section of Sosua you were in, known as El Batey, used to be the Jewish Quarters. One can actually go and see the Jewish museum, which is around the baseball field behind New Garden hotel so all the Sterns and Steins used to live there, prior to Sosua getting international acclaim! LOL.
So Panman and I went our way to Sosua after 5:00 pm. Panman drives so fast and so dominican but we survived.
Lovely account. Had been laughing aloud reading. Baiser mon cul! There was a guy awhile ago who wanted the women to do him and had written detailed reports!
One quick question, where did you go for hamburger with tostones? It would be useful in case I feel like a hamburger and while waiting can feel other stuff as well.
Thank you.
Wanted to buy some V to take home with me at DR prices. Read Latinos supermarket had 100mg / 100 pesos. Nobody knew of Latinos. When I went to exchange $ at the guy at the little booth, he had a box next to the bottle of Patron he was selling. One stop shopping. Same price as Latinos. Only problem may be the expiration date was not so good. Have not tried it yet, or know how it will last.
Latino Minimarket is close to the intersection of Calle Ayuntamiento and Alejandro Martinez. About 7 or 8 minutes walk from New Garden Hotel. 1 minute by motoconcho.
Any motoconcho driver would know where it is. Their generic viagra is 4 tablets of 100mgs for 100 pesos. The same brand is double the price or more in pharmacies.
Got done with a girl. Walked her back to El Flow, and am walking back on Dr Rosen to the hotel. 2 girls (possibly Hatian's) approach. One is popping out her tits, while the other was grabbing my dick. Might have been trying to get me to go to the room, or just pick my pockets. I was just wearing a t shirt and gym shorts, had nothing in my pockets or an leche.
Way to stay alert dude. But I guess with experience in Tijuana it is probably second nature by now.

Are you saying it was 100 pesos for the entire pack of 4? 25 pesos each? WOW! I thought 100/100mg was a good deal. Not a big motoconcho guy. If I walked out of New Gardan, how would I walk there? Don't mind the walking. Good way to work off the Presidente's.
Probably the biggest problem of the trip was I could not get an internet signal. Never got one in my room or at the pool / restaurant the entire trip. Would have liked to been able to get online to ask you guys questions while I was at the front lines. I did not partake of the internet cafe's located around town. Any suggestions in the future where I could sit with my labtop and get a free signal?
If you don't want to use an Internet cafe, most of the the restaurants and bars have wi-fi. It U-turn on your wi-fi enabled device (phone, tablet, netbook, laptop) and walk along the street you will see which places are giving off a signal. You may have to ask for the key when you sit down, but some are unlocked.
Way to stay alert dude. But I guess with experience in Tijuana it is probably second nature by now.
Can't say it was being alert, just good luck. Threw on a t shirt, shorts, and slides to walk her out. She asked me to walk her back to the bars, due to the Politor. Had the short conversation with the "Vanessa" chick. Started walking back on Dr Rosen, and they attacked. If I did have $ in my pockets, I might have gotten ripped off. Initially, just thought I was being approached by a couple bottom feeders for sex. Looking back, they might have been trying to rip me off.
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

I actually don't go to a certain hotel in SXM be / see you can't get a signal in your room. The common area where the signal is strong, is open air, and the bugs eat you alive.

Yes. 100 pesos for 4 tablets as of last week. I think you can buy a box of 96 tablets for about 1000 pesos ($25) if you want the discount.

There is a pizza place across the street from Classico's. If you are standing with your back to the steps, it's across the street to your left. I was standing there, trying to lose my stalker, and the aroma smelled really good. How's the pie?

Had a lot of anxiety, prior, due to being limited in the language, but as everyone kept saying, you don't have to speak a lick of Spanish in Sosua and still have a good time. Employees at the hotel spoke Engllish. The chicas know why you are there. Many stores, bars, restaurants employ people who speak English. With all that said, the more Spanish you know, the more you can enjoy your experience.
While waiting for my taxi to go to the airport, the Rosetta Stone salesman, gave me his sales pitch. We started talking, and he had worked in the states, where I was from, picking apples for $100 / day. The more Spanish you know, allows you to make better choices with everything you do, including the chicas.
Many years ago, I was in Israel, and was going from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem where my hotel was by myself on Friday morning. The clock was ticking for me to get to my hotel, be / see Jerusalem pretty much shuts down early afternoon for the sabbath. It was my first time out of the country, and my first time in Israel traveling by myself. One of the longest days of my life. Made it back by the skin of my teeth. Gave me a little phobia about traveling to non English speaking countries by myself. One of the reasons I like SXM and CUR. No major language barriers and the except US$.
Although I had decent experiences with my chicas, I wish I had done better. Did not have any duds, but no true stunners. Wish I had found Merangue Bar earlier in my trip. Daytime activity was slow. Didn't get into the beach as much as expected. Wish it was more lively. BTW, what should a lounge chair cost to rent for the day? Was sitting on one for about a 1/2 hour when the guy from the restaurant came by and said it was 200 penos. Had my bag on the chair to my right. Seemed a little steep, especially for the slow season. Was I charged for 2 chairs? Should I have negotiated? Are some more expensive than others? He said it included the umbrella. Think it was Tony's restaurant. Some chairs were under a tree, and did not need an umbrella. Were they cheaper?
Once you go with a girl, they seem to latch on with you. What's the best way to handle that, w / o causing a scene, or eliminating the possibility of a future endeavor? I know, she will go with you again (show me the money) , but worry more about the quality of the experience. The one girl I did do twice, the second time was a better experience.
Forgot to mention, since it was not really monger related. I had a 4 hour layover in Miami on my way home. After immigration, customs, TSA security, a burger, and catching up on the internet, it was a little less than 1/2 before boarding. I go to my gate, find a seat. There's a guy on his phone sitting right across from me. I hear him say "Tell him it's sports agent Drew Rosenhaus". When I first heard it, I thought the guy was busting someone's balls on the phone. Then, I realized, the voice sounded familiar. I looked up, and it was him. He was waiting to get on my plane. He's a little guy with a cocky attitude, just like you see on TV. Was hoping we would sit next to each other on the flight, become friends, and he would offer me a great job. That all came to an end when he sat in first class, and I was in coach."Next question"!

Sounds like you had a decent trip. I understand what you are talking about knowing the language, and that's why I will enter my third semester in the fall. But, I still seem to have fun there with my shitty Spanish skills, but then again, I don't indulge in lengthy conversations either.
I always stay in the new wing of the NG and always stream in internet music and rarely lost connection; not sure what happened in your case. As far as the NG girls, I will agree, not many lookers, but some are extremely talented in the rack!
As far as beach action, most will be on the weekends and they never really seem to be on the beach, but patrol through the beach bars / restaurants. This is why Herman's place is perfect. But on the beach, it takes patience. Sit, drink, eat, and fish from your table. Or just point and Herman will call them over, hell, he knows every one of them.
Thanks again for reporting back!

I had no Spanish speaking experience prior to that and I recall going to the bank outside the airport that Frannie was kind to take me to, I had an awkward moment. Not knowing how to handle the language. Personally, and this has been true for me in Thailand and Indonesia, if women in bars speak English too well, I try to slide away. For me it is a red flag. In Germany -whether Reeparbahn in Hamburg or FKK clubs in FRA, (or Dubai for that matter) on the other hand, there are many East Europeans (and Russians) who have no choice but to speak English (barring of course, the Czechs and few others with long Germanic history) so it is different. I am surprised to know that in Curacao and St. Maarten, you can get by with English but then the Dutch all speak 4-5 languages.
Israel is one trip I would like to do. But for other reasons and walk around the old city. That is one of my dreams and of course eat the freshest tahni and falafel.
Yes, the problem of having a girl latch on is prevalent (after all we are meal tickets). For the customer, if the experience has been positive, it might be a good thing but if it is not, shaking off tails can be a challenge. I on one occasion had a girl of the first night approach me the second night and I paid for a drink and apologized saying I want to look around. In another case, I was not so lucky. A serious pro who fights others against encroachment into what she considers her territory (the customer) and that was a good lesson for me. Fortunately, I know both the Italian Managers of the bar below and the dance hall above and so I can ask for their help but I also learned. I have moved away from Sosua and I would not allow someone to get so close that she can think I am her private property. Easier to speak of course.
