On the subject of Minhang, any of you familiar with the shops on HongSong Lu? Been following their developments closely over the last couple of years. I also used a conversion site to see what the pussy cost in dollars and from what the site says, the Chinese Yuan is 6. 7 to the dollar which means 1500 yuan = $223 for ST! If that's the going rate I will pass on that killer see pussy. I probably have that equation wrong so any help is appreciated. Also, I will need ST hotels to operate because my wife will be in the room sleeping. Thanks for any insights.

My normal haunts are the PI, Thailand, Colombia, El Salvador and Tijuana. I can return intel on those locales if anyone needs help.

Thanks much.[/QUOTE]Your calculation is correct, but if you read below, you'll see 1000ST is closer to normal. Girls from pickup bars are not cheap. You will likely not be able to book at ST hotel, because hotels need to register their guests with the police, and foreigners are extra effort. You'll likely find that ST hotels will claim they are not legally allowed to register foreigners (even if this is not true, they don't want the hassle given the high turn over of customers). You would need to find a Chinese girl or friend to book it for you. In your situation, going to a spa is probably your best bet. Spring Massage is a chain (which you can read about more on this forum) and almost all of the shops will have a 390 RMB oil massage option, and the girl will upsell, quite often to include FS. Expect another 500 RMB for that, but you can try negotiating if you know mandarin. Spring are all over Shanghai, but if you stay central in Puxi, then you'll be closest to a large number of them.

Finally, there are a lot of crackdowns recently, and girls are being a lot more cautious. If you are arriving soon, you may find you strike out. Shanghai (and China overall) is nothing like it used to be 5 years ago.

You got the conversion correct. Over $200 for short term from Judy's or Manhattan. The last few years the gov't has been clamping down and many of the spas have closed, and prices gone up.

J & M are both on Tongren Lu, between Nanjing Rd West and Yuyuan East Rd. Nearest hotel is the Portman. There are reasonably priced short term hotels, one chain is called 163.

Note: Google is blocked by the Great Firewall of China. You will need a good VPN to access google maps, etc.
