From the main entrance to catwalk/casino, there is a stairway on the left. Will lead you to the mezzanine of the hotel, for the room elevators I dont remember if you have to walk down to main floor. Didn't pay attention if camera around.

Have you ever been to Q.11, been told some local action there.

My rule of thumb is that $30 and under is normally girls freindly. For listings look at backpacker and other cheap accomodation sites.

Most of the outer districts have Hot Toc (haircut plus) and Bia Om (beer + girls) action but no english is spoken and there have been some reports of rough experiences.

Now they have taken over the downstairs, which used to be some pizza joint. There's a better bar slightly down Thai Van Lung, right next to Skewers, called "Miss Digan." Much better but not too sure if the girls will go home with you. Never asked.

I still need to make my way into "Bin Bin" on Le Thanh Ton, "Pa-Pa" on Thai Van Lung, and now I see these new small bia-om like places on the side streets of Le Thanh Ton. Weird.

Anybody been to the places mentioned above? Scouting report please.

But I did see this new small diner on Le Thanh Ton near Bottom Line. It looks pretty cool with a 50's design and motif. I will definitely check that out.

I have noticed a recent trend of the last 3 year that a lot of girl are getting implants or as Teyes said "nike air bras." Personally, i'm an ass man and prefer the natural thing regardless. The common sense test will most of the time be right. If a girl is 5ft and 95lbs, there no way in she can grow Cs or Ds. It's very rare to find a viet girl with Ds. mostly Bs.

I dont understand why everyone wants to stay at those big hotels for. It's such a hassle, waste of money, and most importantly gf unfriendly. Most of the hotel on le thanh ton or ly tu trong are new, clean, and are around $30 and under. Save your money for the girls.

Yes - the logic is all there. They want to put the prices up so they can go out and buy bolt-on tits which we the punters do not want.

Your comments on the hotels are spot-on. The small ones have all the facilities I need with good personal service. I just use the lobbies of the big hotels if I need to meet someone.

I was in the Billiards bar near to Camargue Rest and the ladies have a new uniform. Off the shoulder tops with NO bras and short black skirts. There are some nice natural sets on display. Mamasan is still greedy though.

PaPa Bar on Thai Van Lung is a straight forward Karaoke place.
Private rooms, singing, a little touchy feely but not much else. I did see some small booths for 1-2 guys but the girls seem to sit opposite a small table. I arranged to meet one of these girls outside but it was going to be a long slow effort to get some action.

Are you allowed to bring girls from Catwalk to your room? It might be looked at as "inhouse" action(?).

If a hotell has a policy that you can not bring guest after a certain time, lik for example 9 p.m., does that mean that you are free to bring visitors to your room all day until 9 p.m.?

Are the smaller hotels in the area around pham ngo lao and de tham guest friendly?

Of course it is possible to stay at New World and also rent at cheap room around de tham as long as I'm in town. But it is possible that it will be a problem having only one passport?

Funny thing is, there's like 3 bars that sounds like Su bar. There's Chu bar on Dong Khoi, Xu bar on Hai Ba Trung and Q bar near the opera house. But none of these bars fit the description that Chesterubi mentioned.

Chesterubi, care to provide more details about the location of Su bar?

Anyways, what I'm really waiting for is the kind of establishments like in Bangkok where they have fish bowls. The closest thing they had here was Amara hotel in one of the karaoke lounge. They lined up 12-15 girls in front of you and you picked one. You drink ($10 a beer - I shit you not) for a few minutes and then take em up to the room upstairs. Total damage was about $150 USD ($70 - girl and $80- room). Yeah, a little too expensive for my taste. But they got busted. Not sure if they are open again.

If anyone knows of any fishbowl like that here, PLEASE let us know.

The upstairs bar at the Amara is closed at present and the KTV at the back (past all the boilers and garbage collection/sorting) is still operating.
This is typical KTV where you choose from a lineup then drink overpriced liquor and sing a little with female company. But no action and no takout - we went there because one of the guys was staying in the hotel and he tried everything.

No action eh? Odd. I went there with my boss, about almost a year ago. I paid $10 for a beer. My boss and his client took 2 girls upstairs for some action. He told me it was $150 total. I said no thanks. But I know they got busetd by the police. Probably didn't "lobby" the right people or got in an disagreement with the cops.

Anyways, I guess that karaoke at Amara isn't doing it anymore.

Yes it seems the old bar upstairs had a good (bad) reputation and that can often be the problem. If the delivery becomes too well known it can be hard to pay enough money or people to keep it going.

the su bar that chesterubi is talking about may have a new name now. anyway it is on the same block as papa, in the middle of the block, just a couple doors uphill from it. there's a gate in front of it. of all the bars of that type (think 49 bar on hbt), it has to be the worst of them all. i think i saw one cute girl in there about 3 yrs ago, and not another since. no idea how they keep the place going. never see customers there, and rent must be high in that neighborhood.

anyway, chu bar is an expat bar with live band, if you feel like hearing some live carpenters. q bar is a pricey/trendy nightclub type bar -- expats and rich vn. xu i haven't been to but hear its about same as q bar. these are all straight places, not in the same category (hello darling!) as the hai ba trung bars (49, 51, u2 etc). su bar is in that category. or tries to be at least.

ben ben (sp?) is worth a visit. one night i went, it was packed with girls, this around 9pm. just absurd number of girls in there. the one i sat with said they had 30. i think a bar that had just closed on hbt sent its staff over there, so they now had double. went again later and the number had reduced a bit, but still has quite a few. another tiny little bar opened just next to it, other side of the alley. peeked in and saw a pretty motley group in there. very claustrophobic -- but things change. maybe it'll improve later.

boulevard was small and dull (and loud). had one drink, left.

so what are these 'small bia-om type places on the side streets off le thanh ton'...? there are some alleys that have japanese bars -- is that what you mean? need a better desciption of what it looks like and its location. if the girls wear ao dais, it's japanese bar. lots of japanese bars on ltt and nearby.
