Was lucky enough to do lots of playing in the old MaoMing Lu when first in Shanghai. Certainly did quite a bit in Julu and not so much in TRL. By then I had found where the freebies were hiding and had no probs anymore.

First time back in Shanghai since the news that Tongren is closing. On Zhapu Lu just off Tiantong Lu there are two locations. One on the left and another on the right. If you walk past them and pause one of the girls will motion you in with her finger. Not the outside gate, but just inside. The WGs tend to hang to the left and solid eye contact and you will know it is easy to approach. Keep in mind that Zapata's has a huge international crowd, and also seems that the more professional business people of Shanghai will hang out there with their girlfirends. Ie.
