There are even clips of police officials holding meetings pertaining to the entertainment sector that includes massage, spas, KTV, mahjong parlors, etc. There was even one that was about massages are only to be given by the same gender or risk being shut.

However, there are still places open but I wouldn't risk it. There are also those that are in apartments. Those seem to be a more viable option if you really have an itch. I would still advise against it.

This is for sure bad weather but small brother asked me to brave difficulties! So I went to MP on jianshan road my regular one on Friday. It is a 278 rmb for session with he. This time I walked in and the guy placed LE in a room à usual. Hi surprise faucet and sliding door of the shower removed. The first girl coming was a 40 years old girl, I refused and second one was a 28 acceptable. This was the first time I was proposed at first an ugly one! I ask the girl why no shower she say now just 3 shower and I can go the shower but need to step outside the room. I refused and installed myself on the table. There's definitely more police, surveillance and censorship because of this 30 year anniversary. But yeah, I don't see how what you describe would be related. Plenty. Walking on Nanjng Rd. means to be stopped by no less than 4-5 women offering openly in front of everyone services of girls "to your room" for 800, down to 600. All show more or less the same set of photos on the cell phone. I guess they work for the same group.

Brought back memories of a 2013 walk between the Hilton and Manhattan during Grand Prix weekend. I think I got propositioned and or groped at least twice per block. I was lucky in the end though, met a nice Chinese lady at Manhattan who gave great service.

When I rave about Manhattan (one of my faves) I always go in prime time 10:30 or so. I always find it packed with hotties. I don't know about later but heard the good ones are snapped up by then. Sorry you are having trouble. Try earlier at Manhattann. Because other than M and J Shanghai is a pussy wasteland for a foreigner.
