It seems to me that your ratio is not really a relevant indicator, since the calculated ratio is the "US" market value to "Colombian" GNP.

I can only assume that things were so quiet last night because it was the beginning of the next phase of the long Christmas season here with many people lighting candles.

Phase II had maybe a dozen women (and probably fewer men) compared to 40 or 50 on Wednesday. Luna Lunera had two women (and no men). Liquid Lounge actually had about a dozen women which was the number I expected. Unfortunately the quality of women in all three bars were below the standards of my amigo and me so we didn't stay long in any of the bars.

FYI, we had a lot of trouble finding Liquid Lounge. The map on their card was very inaccurate. I think there was a comment in this forum that it is "around the corner" but it is actually around 5 blocks away and across a major street. Several people we asked had no idea and finally a taxi driver was able to circle around and get to it.

I'd like to express my thoughts. I love both Colombia and Peru. I like more Colombia for the "casas" and Peru for girlfriend experiences. I tried to chat with some girls on Badoo and I have notices Peruvian girls are more active in reply.

I plan to live there for about 3 months for a couple of reasons in March. 1 is to learn spanish by taking up a course in one of their university. 2. Of course the mongering. 3. Getting to know the locals. I'm usually on the Tijuana board posting but I've had my fill and want to try a new dish. Not too worried about cost but at the the same time not stupid. I plan to live in the El Pablado area since I hear this is the place to be at. At the same time I want to be close to the area where I can on a whim make decision to go to the places like Liquid, Mansion. Etc. So the question is, how close are these places, a bank I can use where I don't get hit up with too much transaction fees. Any suggestions on the spanish classes (I plan of course to use the rosetta stone until I get there) and what to look out for. Any advice on the locals as well. Many Thanks for all advices.

I would recommend the Laureles / Estadio area. Coming from Tijuana, this would be a good transition. You will not get the same cultural experience in El Poblado. UPB in Laureles has good Spanish classes.

You can take the bus to and from el centro, but I have no experience doing so, so can't comment.

-As for banking, open up a Schwab free checking account before you go, and use ATM's that charge a fee. Schwab will refund all fees charged for ATM transactions. See the "Colombian Peso exchange rate and related issues" thread for more info on this. Bbrocs has explained this in length, so look for the posts by him.

Centro is where you want to be, there are casas, street scene chicas, and clubs. But I think some people like the comfort and safety of Pablado. So my advice is to skip Pablado if you can.

Two years ago I went to Medellin. The best place for me is the center of Medellin. You are right but it was dangerous at night walking alone. Is it safer now?

You're not the first, and I will have to add that to my ever growing list of things to do.

It's very difficult to keep a group of 9's and 10's at Liquid all the time. I have mentioned here that I am working on increasing the quality of women at Liquid. Having said that, he must be extremely picky. We had Lina, Kathe, Chris from the Mansion, and Alejandra our birthday girl, and a few others. I am very picky myself, but there were at least 4 chicas there throughout the night that I would have been happy to take home.
