Robber girls in Manila L.A.Cafe
Be careful!!
A friend of mine has recently been robbed by a girl from LA Cafe. Unfortunately for him, the hotel did not do ID card checks. His lady seemed allright and obviously wore the signs of childbearing.
Just before leaving, he was about to hand over the agreed amount. Then the girl innocently stated that in fact she had been a minor of 17 1/2 years and demanded an outrageous amount, threatening to call the coppers.
He was totally shocked and knowing no better option immediately paid up. So, buyer beware at LA Cafe.
Totally empty of pesos he went to change some money on Mabini Street. Then he was cheated by the money changer. Being separated by the thick bars, there was little he could do. Must have been his unlucky day.
Because of the extorted money he had to cut his holiday short.
Hard to believe but better be more careful of these "lovely", smiling people.
OUCH! Your Being Pretty Tough There Firedick!
[QUOTE=Firedick]So, where were you while your newbie friend was being fucked up the ass ?
If this is a real story you should have warned him of such rookie, first timer, pratfalls. No ? Maybe you are BSing us then.
OK, let's assume for a moment that the story you posted is true.
Newbies: If such a situation occurs, play hardball. The girl says, "I'm calling the police" you say: "good, I was going to get them up here too". If she say's "I'm too young" you simply counter with "that's not what you said ten minutes ago". The cops in the RP are not all dishonest. All, or certainly most, have seen their fair share of the honest, naive, tourist taken advantage of by locals using the fear of the unknown to their advanatage. A position of being right and not being afraid of standing up for it, goes a long way in the Filipino way of thinking. Don't be a victim. Humble Turd is speading fearful crap that is unfair to the way most of the Philippines is.
Don't do stuff that is obviously unlawful. No drugs, no too young girls, and you'll be fine. Talk to cops as equals, stand your ground, respectfully.
Humble Turd suggests being careful. Always good advice. I'm just not sure he knows what it means.

What reason would Humble Turd have to lie or is this your sarcastic humour since I do not know you to be a judge of that?. Why not give the guy the benefit of the doubt?. Why the reference like that about his friend?. Being so harsh on a guy like this will make others fearful to post. In closing, the information you provided is excellent and even though most of us know that information, it is great to be reminded of it from time to time.
Taking Advantage of Stupidity
that's the story of the unluckiest mongering day in the history of the pi.
i am surprised that a guy would be feeble-minded enough to get taken in by an **** scam by a girl with obvious signs of child birth. whatever her looks, she would need an id to get into la cafe - where the carding is rather rigorous (but not perfect). had such an unlikely situation happened to me, i would have just called down to the front desk and asked the hotel to send someone up.
for the money changers, you need to ask the rate in advance. any money changer will give you cash with a calculation reciept. if a mistake has been made, you need to tell them at the counter. be especially careful if they give you a bunch of small bills. it's best to assume that a mistake might be made. count your money at the cage.
a good friend like humble turd should have been a cell phone call away from his troubled mate. shame on you for not being there to tell him what to do in such a situation. anyway, stupidity is the lowest hanging fruit in the mongering world - don't be surprised when it gets picked on. ar+
