On the other side of the Danshui River I drove about another 1. 5 blocks before parking on the street. Then I began walking back underneath the bridge.
Have to say, I was a bit uncomfortable in this area at around 12:30am. It is quite dark and grungy. As I headed back in that direction a guy used some pretty obvious sign language to ask if I was looking for action. I turned toward him and he asked if I was looking for Xiaojie. Have to confess here, I felt like I stood out like the biggest sore thumb on earth. The area, especially at 1am, didn't feel foreigner friendly at all. On an unrelated note, I also did an impromptu prospecting visit to Keelung earlier this week. It was mid-day and I was in a two piece suit. Again felt quite self-conscious and out of place. Also, not sure I really found the red-light district given it was daytime, but I absolutely love this seaport and I'll definitely be going back. In fact, given my location in eastern Neihu, on weekdays Keelung is more convenient for me so I may make this my regular haunt. Could make for a nice addition to ISG. We'll see.

Momo Tea Shop in San Chong
Hey everyone! I want to first thank you all for all the great information posted here. It took me awhile to rtff but it prepared me for my first mongering trip here in Taipei.
I thought about trying the shacks, but didn't feel like a quicky. So I decided to check out a momo tea shop in San Chong. I followed the directions given here at the forum to get to San Chong. I took the metro to Taipei Main Station and then I took a cab across the bridge. After a bit driving around in San Chong, he remembered one and took me there.

I just smiled at him and walked in the door. As I walked in this guy greeted me and asked if I was here to eat noodles. I told him strait up that I was here to drink tea with Shao2Jie3s. He smiled at me and asked if I was here alone. I told him yes. Then he took me to a room that resembled a Cashbox KTV room. The place looks a bit rundown, the comfort feel was subpar, but heck, I am here so I stuck to my mission.
I asked upfront about the fees and how things worked. He explained to me that the each girl is $300NT for regular dressed and $500NT for sexy dressed per session which runs 2. 5 hours. Then there's a $700NT basic fee for sitting down which includes some snacks. $300NT for Karaoke usage. Beers were $120NT each for Taiwan Beer Gold Medal. And then the Papasan gets $500NT. They can also cook up some Chinese dishes for you if you're hungry. Anyway, because the girls rotate to other rooms, I went ahead and selected 2 girls so I won't be by myself. However, the papasan said that one of girls just pours tea so I went with 3 girls.
The girls that I got were subpar. 1-10, Wen Zhi was a 3 in her late 30s and Wei Wei was a 4 in her early 30s. During our session, we talked and played drinking games. It was actually quite fun given that the girls weren't good looking. I had the most fun with the strip dice game. I had beginners luck so I ended up kick arse in that game. How it works is that the loser takes a drink and also takes off a piece of clothing. Shoes and socks don't count.
