Reporting from my first night out in Istanbul:

Got the metro to Taksim Square and strolled along the packed with people Istiklal caddesi. About 22:30 .
Near the Russian consulate general, I was intercepted by an active bar pimp who dragged me to a shabby place- bar CHINA.
Right across the street (Istiklal caddesi) from Russian consulate, in small dark street (Sokak).

This was one of the RIP-Off bars bearing all the classical signs:
- You are nearly the only customer inside. (the prey)
- Bunch of bored Russian girls, who sleep on the chairs, (the bite), One or two pretend they are dancing.
The rest get up and stroll to the dancing like a platoon on a command.
- Music is low (remember there is no one else there). They crank it up as you enter.
- Beer is 40 Lira or more.
- If you agree to stay, they will keep you ordering overpriced drinks, everything else is against their financial well-being.
I jumped out quickly and run for my life (for the life of my wallet, actually)

The second bar pimp was far more sophisticated - he asked me about the time, agreed that CHINA bar is POS, and suggested he knows a much better place - Bar Grand Hissar, just few blocks away... I wanted to take a break and look around, and since he was nice and spoke decent English, I let him walk and be my guide for a while.

We discusses the Street travesties (or Lady-boy), who offer their services for $20, three blocks down from Taksim Square, on the right hand side of Tarlabasi bulvari. At this time there were 7 "girls" on duty. To be fair, they looked quite well, one of the more advanced ones displayed juicy boobs, that some real girls can envy.

Anyhow, finally we made it to the Grand Hissar Bar. It is on Balik Pazar (which turns into Balik Sokak), about 500 meters down from Taksim Square. The bar itself is some 50 meters to the inside, (from Istiklal caddesi).
The setting was the same, only half as bad:
- About 12 Russian girls, some 7-8
- 4 dancing, the rest peacefully waiting at the tables.
- There were three tables with hungry looking western guys mixed with girls.
- quoted rate for a girl - $ 200.
- beer was 20 Lira.

After I rejected the offer, and walked out, the friendliness and my companion, and he himself vanished in the thin air.

Had a chat with the doorman- he stated that $200 is actually a good price, regular was $350 - 400.
This is pure BS. We are not in the US or Canada, where a beautiful pro is a rare, well hidden, Illegal and therefore expensive treasure! If I go to Warsaw I can have the same Russian / Polish girl for 100 Zl (around $35).

So, guys, there is a something new on the Western front (or bank of Istanbul) - the peculiar trade of the Bar Pimp.
Friendly, nice, well spoken, committing an innocent sin for his pay - trying to seduce the ill-oriented mongerer, to a wallet- milking station.

Other than that, I enjoyed discovering the secrets and diversity of this big cosmopolitan city, and felt pretty safe, all the time.

If you remember I posted recently that a saw a rather pretty girl at melody, whom I wanted to approach but hesitated. Well this time I did not wait for anything better. Ten minutes after she came into the bar/restaurant I signed her to my table.

The room was 60 YTL, and I cannot say it was filthy, but it wasnt too clean either (forgot the name of the Hotel).
Annas Turkish wasnt the best but much better than the average Aksaray afternonn crowds.

Anal-dont know, will know the next time

She was actually one of the few girls that Insisted on CIM.
Total three pops for 100$ plus extras.

1) If I can only go to Aksaray during sunshine, I have to go to Irmak or nearby restaurants , right?

2) In Irmak How much should I pay ? Should I pay drink to all girls I talked to ? I mean if I would like to talk to 2-3 of and just ofert the latest is that OK. I went there just ones and talked to one girl, price was 50 M for her and my drink ! Therefore Seranda seems to be much better since you can talk as many girls as you like. After I go out with girl, bahsis tarifs ?

3) How you pay in Bacardi ? What time is best to go there ? Again what should I pay as "Bahsis" to people ?

I spent the weekend at Hilton with my Moldavian beauty. Seaside room cost me 221 YTL per night (Bed and Breakfast). In a while I went down stairs around 02:00. The lobby was backed with EE girls who were going upstairs to the customers and some were with customers. Hilton is definitely and truly girl friendly; but pricey. You may still find hotels in Taksim Sq. and surroundings for 100-120 YTL.


I got rusty on Aksaray scene. But tipping does help you on mongering. You should consider the amount by yourself. From my view Serenda is a meat market. Tipping the girl is up to you. You already pay her, why do you tip her. As long as she did something extra than the usual thing; tipping is not necessary.

Once I went to Irmak around 15:00 and easily found girls. I heard that there were some guys go there specifically during the lunch breaks.

Wherever you go, you pay the girls drink. It does not matter whether you take her or not. You have to buy at least nuts or appetizers with the drinks.

I paid half at Bacardi and the other half at home. But I paid extra $50 to take her to my place. I don’t know the usual system.

1.) Bacardi is closed during day, and dont expect any real action before 9 PM at Bacardi. I usualy go to Irmak or Melody. Irmak is a bit too dark for me, but there are more girls there to chose from. At Melody there are usually between 6-8 girls but you see what you get

2.) They usually just bring the girls drink, usually you pay for every girls drink. For the bahsis deal I usually have a bundle of 5 YTL bills ready, this way you can pay in increments of 5 YTL

3.)If you go with a girl the first time and they dont know your 'face' there you usually end up paying up front. But I wouldnt worry I went ther for 4 years and never got any problems with the money.

The abovementioned two services are quite sought after,and I really think it should be a Forumthread of its own.
Until then, I would like to point out that I received the best BBBJs and CIMs sofar from EE girls. Usually with Bacardi girls.

There should be a medal or some kind of recogniton for girls who do that.
The sad thing is that it is getting harder and harder to get proper head in aksaray. Just being blond and pretty isnt good enough.

ONE POST said that it is the best place to pickup girls and in case you are staying in the hotel there is not hussle or tiping to take the girls from the famous Disco and I heard its in the AKSARAY Area which it seems to me like staying in patpong in thailand.

So what do you recommend guys shall I stay in this hotel. I heard its girl friendly.

Seranda is actually more than girl-friendly. It promotes the girls in its own night-club. You can check out Seranda's website to see some pictures and decide for yourself; [url]www.seranda.com.tr[/url] . To be honest, Seranda (the Aksaray Area in general) would be the last option I'd recommend to a friend, especially if it's his first time in Istanbul. I visit that place from time to time and 2-3 hours is usually more than enough for me. As a local, I feel pretty unsafe fucking around that area.

If you can afford the 5 stars, I'd recommend Hilton and Swissotel. Both are girl-friendly. Of course there are many 3-4 star options but since I am a local I don't know any..

The barpimps are just touts...in almost every big city in the world these guys try and attract tourists inti their "honey" traps.
I have come across this same scams almost everywhere and even fallen for some. Bangkok, Zurich, Antwerp, Paris, Hongkong, Beijing, Amsterdam, Vegas.

IMO you did pretty well coming out with only pying for your drinks.

In Bangkok..a tout offered "free"show...after just 15 minutes of watching a sexshow in an upstairs bar show on patpong(never go upstairs!!)...I got a bill that included show, VERY expensive beer, price for companionship i didnt realise i received and of course price for tout. Was like 300USD for 2 of us. In the 90s an obscene amount of money in thai baht.
Stayed cool and after some negotiation and threats from both sides(me with tourist police, they with the mob,lol) he tried to trick us by saying we can leave without paying(sure way for us to get intimate knowledge in the finerpoints of thaiboxing if you leave without paying) Instead I paid for the drinks...50USD!! and walked out with receipt signed and all.
Scared me into staying away from the nightlife for a while in Thailand.

Aksaray is the place for mongering but also there are many weird looking and dangerous men living around that area. Many gipsies, thieves etc. I think staying at Aksaray is only good if your are planning to waste your whole trip in a hotel room ;)

By the way, 50-60 bucks is not a big money in Turkey especially if you are foreigner! Here is a nice hotel in the center of Taksim. [url]http://trhotels.com/HTL_info.asp?HTL_id=908[/url] You can check this and many others on the same web site.

However, I do not believe that those online booking broker companies do a good job. So i recommend you to find out the phone number of the hotel and make your own rezervation.

P.S. Turkey is not Thailand! Life is never that much cheap in Turkey.

I strongly advise you to do a quick geographical research on Istanbul before you arrive here. First of all, we don't have beaches in Istanbul. You cannot swim in Bosphorus. It is snowing, man!! I don't know where you're from but it's fucking freezing down here :) Even in Summer you'll only be able to find some swimming pools and nothing more. Beaches are around 1 hour flight away down in Cesme, Kusadasi, Bodrum or Antalya.

The mongering scene is quite different in Istanbul. It's not about 'going out, drinking, finding some chicks and having fun'. You gotta know the right places and be cautious at all times.

On a typical mongering night, you'll spend around $150-200 excluding the hotel fee.

You have limited options;

1-Aksaray scene;

Basically you go to clubs/restaurants/discos to pick EE(Ukrainian, Russian, Moldavian, Belarusian, Romanian) girls. In general most of the places run by the though guys, you don’t wanna mess with them. We are not talking about Vegas pimps, southern red necks in Houston…some times brutal than Russian look alikes.

We mentioned several times. Bacardi(disco/club), Irmak(restaurant/disco), Serenda(disco), Melody(still don’t know what it is) are the wellkown and trustful spots.

Bacardi is the hot spot, you go there, have a drink, call the girl to your table, negotiate the price and the service, if you agreed, you pay in advance and take her to your place or her hotel (connected with Bacardi). The prices are differ from girl to girl, if I am not wrong $150 for 2 hours $200 for all night (mostly 4-5 hours)

Muratlale knows the scene better.

Irmak, mostly Moldavians, 2 hours $50-100, all night $150. Average girls, if you are lucky, you may find 8-9 girl. You call the girl to your table or you already sit with her. You negotiate the price and the service, if agreed you pay in advance and go to you place or Grand Asıyan hotel or Orange hotel. In general Aksaray hotels cost you 50-80YTL for sex.

Serenda, real meat market. Negotiate at the dance floor, if agreed go upstairs to the hotel.

2-Taksim Scene,

Hundreds of bars, clubs and restaurants. STAY AWAY from all kinds of revues and the clubs you see naked or half naked girls pics. Those places are for rip off. You may find freebies or TVs or TSs or working girls. Honestly I don’t like it. It’s too crowded and you have to watch your back and pockets all the time.

3-Call services(mamushkas or independents)

You need someone who knows the contacts. In general, when you got the number, you call the mamushka or the independent girl, tell her the reference, your hotel’s name and for how long you want her to stay with you. 2 hours $100, all night $150-200.

4-SW

After 23:00, you may find SWs around Taksim Sq and the way to Sisli. But beware most of them are TV. They are addicted and sometimes very dangerous.

5-Massage Parlor

Never ever compare the Russian or American MPs with Turkish ones. As a foreigner just stay away.

6-Turkish General House,

STAY AWAY FOR YOUR MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH. Bottom line of the food chain.


You asked whether $1000 is enough. Well it depends on what you are looking for.

Let’s say, you want to pick a girl from Aksaray and you are staying around Taksim Sq. Taxi will cost you 10-12 YTL.

For you first time you go to Bacardi, cover, your drinks girl’s drink, nuts(mandatory) and tips in over all cost you 70-100 YTL. Than you pay $150-200 to the girl. If she doesn’t agree to come to your hotel, than you will pay another 80-100YTL for the hotel.

Irmak, no cover, sit on restaurant section. If you want order food, your drink, nuts, girl’s drink and tip cost you 50-70YTL. If she doesn’t want o go to your hotel, you will pay 60YTL for Orange hotel, 80YTL for Grand Asıyan.

When you call mamushkas or independent girls, you pay her rate and the taxi fare.



One of my American friends visited me 5 months ago, she didn’t monger..:)) but did all the touristy events(boat tour, bus tour, went most of the museums, had lots of fish on lunch), she spent almost $600. She stayed at my place and she didn’t spend anything at nights
