Curious how others feel. Unless I am staying overnight I have generally tried to go back to the border before sundown from Zona Norte as it just seems more crazy shit happens later at night.
Do folks think it's a bit safer taking the HK shuttle to the border if available rather than a Taxi or Uber? (trying to avoid the police shakedown experience).

It's rare that I pass that spot without at least one chica reaching out grabbing my cock. It can be intimidating walking by there. I don't recall any reports of that happening to HK courtesy vehicles.

I'll tell you that on my last trip, I hit up HK during the day. For me, that was odd. LOL. Now, 99% of the time I go to HK, I'm staying at Ticuan or Pueblo Amigo. But I usually arrive at 9 or 10 PM. I'm usually in the club (or piso 7 during COVID) until 3 AM or so. I always leave in a taxi. Granted, it's not to the border. But my taxi has been stopped twice. Once, I think the police took $5 from me. To be honest, and it's a bit embarrassing, but I was just that drunk. I left HK knowing I had $5 in my shirt pocket for the taxi. When I got to the hotel, that $5 was gone. So either the cop swiped the $5 bill (most likely) or I dropped it somewhere (and that is possible). He did take $20 from the taxi driver as a mordida. The taxi driver earned it though. He was flying up the road about 3 AM and didn't even tap the brakes at an intersection.
Personally, I have no reservation at being in the zona at any time in the middle of the night. If I was heading back to the border in the early morning hours, I'd take the zona shuttle. I highly doubt the police would mess with that for fear of biting the cartel hand that owns the zona.
But to me, HK is very different late at night. There are pros and cons to night and day. It's definitely more of a party vibe the later you go. But with that, comes the crowd. You'll also see a lot more crazy stuff out in the open late at night. But days seem to be a little more chill, if you want some one on one time with a girl. Also, just my opinion, meseros were slightly less pushy during the day.
Like I said, do what you are comfortable with. But I enjoy those late night parties a bit too much! LOL Stay safe.

It was the Friday before 4th of July weekend. I had invited a wingman to try out a new time frame to go. Let me try to explain how daytime felt to me.
1. HK was like an airplane at 15 -25% capacity? You get lounge out and the entire row is all yours. That's how the club felt. It felt like it was all to myself.
2. A grocery / department store during the workweek also at 15/25% capacity. You can do all your shopping and have the best selection of fresh cut steaks without the weekend crowd.
3. A restaurant where you will be served immediately, without a line out the door. Your food is fresh, at least ID like to think it is.
About 60 or so hunnies. 20-30 guys? The selection was on point. New faces I have never seen at night.
A girl I talked to said her shift was from 12 to8. She smelled fresh and I would be the first of the day. Just that thought that I would be first in line would keep me coming back at this time.
Not to mention the fresh new girls who don't like the party vibe the evenings offers. Settled on a fresh 18 year old chica. She had noticeable eye bags, just gave birth 3 months ago so it was her first time having sex since giving birth. Not that great of a lay. See what others that have been to Ticuan say. Also the Advanced search is a great tool if you have not used it. Search in the Tijuana forum for "Ticuan". It will pull up all the dialogs about that hotel.
I am the same way. A little gun shy at roaming the streets around there especially at night. There is even a safer way to Azul's restaurant instead of walking in the alley where you go up to floor 4 or 5 in HK. Then walk across the length of the building and walk down the stairs to Azuls! I am getting a little more courage these days and checking out the chica's around the alley seems not too dangerous but I hesitate to say that as it is Tijuana and shit happens!
This weekend instead of going home at 10 pm from Zona Norte I am going to stay over just because I think it's a bit safer to do so.
