[blue]greetings everyone,
this report was too important to leave it in such a deplorable condition, so i reformatted it without all the unnecessary hard returns.
you're welcome.
a report from harry the horse on recent ac bar raid. harry is a retired resident of ac and reports on activities there.
the carousel raid. this latest raid took place on friday. 11 oct, at 9 pm. i did not write anything on my breaking news for information was limited. for two weeks i was talking to various sources, trying to piece together a few facts. what i found out dismayed me and also angered me. as i write this a filipino male supervisor, one foreign tourist who was training to be a manager and 7 females were being held in station four awaiting further legal procedures. the foreigner kind of stepped on his own tongue. he decided to introduce himself, unknown to him, to an american undercover agent and his 'fiance'. while talking to them he mentioned that he owned bars in germany and the difficulty there was the high taxes. but, he continued, the problem here in ac is that they have to pay a lot of money to the nbi and cidg under the table in order not to be raided. this turned out to be a very stupid thing to say and now he has time to think back at his words while in jail. they are being provided food and rubber mats to sleep on but the conditions are crowded, hot and very uncomfortable. bear in mind that these people are innocent of any crime but yet the forces that be, as usual, enjoy the act of torturing innocent people on trumped up charges. we all know the routine, raid a bar, load up buses with girls, take them to camp olivas, separate them into groups, release a few, separate others into a group in which they are held without charges and the police threaten them to sign affidavits against the floor managers, etc. this is the normal routine used by various agencies and this time it was a pnp special group operation. what shocked me this time is that an additional element entered the scenario. the raid also involved a united states homeland security (hsi) special agent assigned to the us embassy, manila. this man, special agent keith (i chose not to use his full name) set up the raid by working undercover with the nbi. he is the one with the pnp female officer posing as his fiance.
this is a first for angeles city and the methods used were such that i do not see anyway that clubs in the entertainment zone can protect themselves without dramatic changes in operating procedures. the undercover operation took place over a couple of weeks and involved more than one undercover operative. sa keith was the main set-up man posing as a customer. the mission was to meet and talk to the youngest looking dancers and build up a rapport with one or two agent keith and his 'fiance' made friends with a dancer and on 27 sep. took her out to eat with the intent of getting detailed information from her. the dancer, of course, talked a lot. on a follow up visit to the club sa keith was able to meet the german manager, the filipino supervisor and of course the floor managers that they had developed a rapport with in previous visits. on the night of the raid, note the date, they asked the dancer if they could take her bar fine? the lady indicated that the club did not have a bar fine policy. but, she pointed to a sign on the table that promoted a p2, 250 drink. needless to say folks she, and many other ladies would then explain in detail what that drink would get the customer once they left the bar. meanwhile, other undercover agents in the bar would be buying drinks and then pay for the special drink with marked money. be advised that at the same time agents were investigating other bars on fields ave in preparation for future raids.
there were other unusual procedures used that night and the next few days. seventy ladies were taken to the old dfa building on clark where the nbi offices are located in the back and hidden there while attempting to get them to sign affidavits against the managers and floor managers. additionally 16 ladies were taken to palayan and held without charges. that is a hell of a long way to take innocent girls to detain them without charges. the parents had to meet in san fernando and travel together to visit them. why was this necessary?
was this an attempt to isolate the girls and try to get them to make statements against some of the staff? i wonder at the legality of such actions.
i also wonder why a us special agent from homeland security is allowed to participate in such raids in a foreign country. why is the president of the philippines allowing such actions against the sovereignty of the philippines. i have heard, not confirmed, that this was tried in singapore and not allowed. they were told that singapore would take care of their own problems without us assistance.
(while trying to find out the answer to this, one answer that came out was the american agents were allowed because there were american customers in the bar. wow, if that is true i am in shock and can only throw up my hands in frustration)
these actions are deplorable, the ladies are not being rescued, instead they are victims and abused by their own countrymen with the assistance of foreign agents. to me, the procedures used smell of entrapment. nobody cares what happens to the girls when they are detained, threatened and treated badly. where are their rights? this mass round-up of girls should not be tolerated. if there is specific evidence of wrong doing then do a proper investigation and detain those specifically identified as ****. all girls working in the clubs on fields ave are doing so voluntarily. no one is forcing them to work there, they can leave any time they want to. why does the mayor allow such actions in his town? i guess alex cauguiran might behappy as he wants all bars closed but someone has to stop this madness.
every bar should have full video coverage of their establishments sothat these undercover foreigners can be identified and their pictures published. too many innocent women and men are being sent to jail on false charges and by the time the courts declare their innocence and dismissed charges they have spent many months in jail. this has to stop or at least have better investigations prior to sending so many to jail. at least, at this time customers are not being harassed, they are separated and allowed to exit the affected clubs. i wonder how long this will last? i could write a few more details but why bother, you get the idea. i visited the ladies in station four and it was a sad sight. they are locked up like animals, scared, hungry, confused and put shoulder to shoulder with dope addicts and true criminals. overnight, families are broken up, lives turned upside down simply because they chose to work in a vocation that would afford them a decent salary. it is a shame and shame on you special agent keith for contributing to their suffering. maybe you will get a commendation for your bravery in apprehending these dangerous criminals. why not stop by station four and see for yourself their conditions or maybe by the time this is published, they might be in the city jail. so glad you received all that special training in the us to accomplish your mission here. believe me, your work is not appreciated!
(update: on 23 oct the ladies from palayan were released and returned home)
Update
i conferred with a senior pnp source for a follow up and that individual informed me the raid was due to a complaint being initiated against the carousel alledging us citizens were bar fining **** girls, thus the joint operation with the us embassy. the girls were detained for a complete examination including fake identification and dental records to confirm their age. upon determining the girls were of legal age and legit, they were released accordingly. the investigation is on going with no revelation if any us citizens are persons of interests.
That's funny. I have the same rule about bar girls. Barfines are for suckers. Only freelance for this monger! Fuck that middleman bs.
For the most part yes! However, there are times that the bars / gogos offer what's not available in the FL scene so a barfine must be paid in order to obtain the rare one.
That's funny. I have the same rule about bar girls. Barfines are for suckers. Only freelance for this monger! Fuck that middleman bs.
This guy is all over the place (world) and he is a skilled mongered but he is also a cheapskate and that is his biggest motivation.
When a guy calls the majority of mongers,"suckers" because they patronize bars and barfine I have to speak up. Without the bars there would be no AC, w / out the mongers who patronize those bars there would be no AC.
So for Mr. E (or other like minded mongers) to brag about how they can avoid the bar fines contribute very little to the monger scene on the ground. The AC monger scene is healthy because of a thriving bar scene of which Mr. E is too cheap to participate in. He is like a little critter attaching itself onto a thriving moving body and that's all, he shouldn't be bragging about it.
As for me and probably most, I will look for ways to save a buck or two and take pride in negotiating a good deal for myself but I am not obsessed whit (money) as some are here.
This tit is for you Mr. E, FL from Mango Sq. 1000p.

I'm not going to bother going into the whole barfine vs freelance thing as everybody has their own style, but there was an interesting little story in Harry the Horse this month. A guy had been seeing an AC freelancer for a couple years, mostly short times but sometimes all night. And then one day, apparently out of nowhere, she sets him up and he gets seriously burned. I'm pretty hardened to the scene but I would have thought that after a few years as a good customer, you'd be pretty safe. The lesson is, no you're not.
And then one day, apparently out of nowhere, she sets him up and he gets seriously burned.
Burned how?
-
Burned how?
One of the usual techniques: a bunch of 'police' appeared at his door while she was there, found some drugs she'd planted, and took him away and held him till he had wired P200, 000 from the UK. The whole story is online in Harry the Horse's November newsletter.

Yikes. What a nightmare. At least he bought his way out of it. In a lot of other countries there would be incarceration.
In a lot of other countries there would be incarceration.
Well I think there was considerable doubt about them being police at all. For one thing, if they really had been, he probably wouldn't have gotten off so cheaply.
You've got to love the Philippines: the one place where it's better to be held by a gang of thugs than the police.
but I would have thought that after a few years as a good customer, you'd be pretty safe. The lesson is, no you're not.
Do you think that there is a calculation being made. The lifetime value of the relationship v the value as a setup.
I wonder if there were expectations and commitments made over the year as to the likelihood of a long term relationship (overseas residency!) which after four years was obviously not going to happen. No revenge like that of a pinay.
Do you think that there is a calculation being made. The lifetime value of the relationship v the value as a setup.
Who knows, but my guess is she was just offered the chance to make a nice lump sum and she needed the money. Pretty silly really, especially now that her name and maybe photo too will go out over the internet, but sometimes these girls don't think ahead beyond their next meal.

he was an expat living there at the time. he didn't like using the bars. so only saw fl's and off duty bg's. same kind of story. thought he had developed a bond. was shocked when it all went down. cops held him in jail about a day and a half til he settled up.
the problem becomes. even if you are innocent. how long do you want to sit in jail in the pi. no bed, sleeping on the floor, any decent food must be provided by friend or family, unsanitary conditions (king size roaches, no ac). and you could remain there for months before being released.
its sort of like smoking. many do it for years w / no affect. one has to decide for themselves the risks involved.

No reports from AC in 3 days. Are there significant disruptions in AC due to Typhoon Haiyan?
