I have only gone to Camelot and it seems the same as always. Girls from and / or with family from affected areas are concerned especially as little or no news have come out from there.

I am due to arrive in Angeles city (landing Clark airport) on 14th evening for my 2nd trip to this mongering paradise and plan to stay 3 nights. Just wanted some advice from guys already around if I should go ahead and that typhoon Yolanda hasnt had any impact. I know Angeles and Manilla were spared the horrendous aftermath but considering Philippines doesn't exactly has a great reputation in managing crisis, I just want to ensure I don't get stuck on logistics or that the ambience is so depressing in the bars due to this national tragedy that I will regret coming down. Thanks in advance I have until tomorrow to cancel my flights to get a decent refund.

Be prepared that many of them are in a pretty bad mood.

With a country with low infrastructure, high unemployment etc they learn to make best of the situation.

Long time ago samar was the feeding ground for AC bars. Nowadays girls come from everywhere.

On the other hand because of this more girls who are affected by this want to make money quickly to send to their family. So no need to cancel your plans.

Just thought I would pass on a review on the new Penthouse hotel.

The Penthouse is hard to miss, its the tallest building in Pampanga located near Pacific Breeze across from (former) Cuba Cuba. I stayed in a basic room. 3500P a night.

Positives.

- Big 40 inch Samsung flat screen TV with good movie selections. DVD player.

- Great location heart of the action.

- Best bed I have ever had in a hotel with a Memory foam cover (king bed)

- A dizzying light selection for every corner of the room.

- Stream room / shower.

- Contemporary room design I. E. LOTS of glass.

- Big soaker tub.

- Very nice pool on the roof.

- Friendly staff.

- View could be a plus or a minus depending on the floor you get (I think there are 12 floors) I was in 4th floor so I was staring into the back of Wild Orchid hotel.

Negatives.

- Heart of Balibago means VERY noisy, car alarms going off all night, horns honking, music. Construction noise.

- No restaurant open yet. But you can order food from across the street.

- Lots of glass in the CR area, also means no privacy I. E. Do you want your date watching you take a dump? (maybe yes maybe no) Bahala ka.

- Building construction is not complete. Front desk and entrance is kind of make shift.

All in all I liked the Penthouse. The noise was the biggest issue I had with the place. There are plenty of places to eat nearby so no restaurant in house is no biggy for me.

IMHO. All in all its a upgrade to Pacific Breeze. However not as nice as ABC (but also much cheaper). Rooms are smaller than at Lewis Grand, but better location.

On my next trip I've been recommended to check out the scenery around Baguio. If I stay overnight there, am I likely to see any girl action or is it best to byo?

Burnham park has some ladies who walk aroud the park that are avaiable but its hit or miss. Theres a few local bars on one the roads out of town but you might be the only non Filipino in them. Itys the most wholesome city in Philipines. IJM isn't needed.

Went one block too far and walked up Carino street between Kisad and Legarda near the west end of Burnham park. There were a few bars and KTVs with some shills out front promising me women. The block where the bars were was two blocks from the park and didn't see any freelancers on that block. Have no idea if the places are worth visiting as I had brought my own.

BTW. Any updates on the "atmosphere" in AC? I always thought a greater percentage of girls came from Samar and Leyte than other areas.

I imagine many of the girls with family in the Eastern Visayas will have either gone looking for missing relatives or will be distressed if they have lost them.

I was in AC for about a week, getting out to Manila just as typhoon Haiyan was hitting Visaya.

My last trip to AC was in May 2013. Not much has changed. But here are a few tidbits.

- Carousel Bar (next to Atlantis) is now closed.

- New to me. Lewis Grande and Pacific breeze now have cash machines in the lobby, so no need to run to SM or ABC for Money.

- Observed very few anglos / westerners in AC maybe about 20% of total monger crowd. Koreans and Malaysians are kings in AC. Which is fine, they seem respectful and generally don't act like idiots.

- Overall quality of woman was poor. Best talent was observed "but not sampled" as freelancers at the head of Walking street I. E. Between Philies sport bar and Atlantis. Also some FL in Skytrax were above average.

- Checked with travel agent, and there are several good flight options to Bangkok from Clark. Cost about 12, 600p ($300 USD)

- If you are considering a side trip to Boracay there is no service to Caticlan anymore from Clark. You must go thru Kalibo now, which means about a 2 hour additional ride in a bus. Cost however was very cheap at 3500 p.

- Last time I was in AC in May there seemed to be a scare if you used the phrase "bar fine" in conversation to mama san. Now business as usual no one cares.

- Apparently there was a raid at Atlantis the night I was there, but I never saw it.

- Typhoon bar is renamed Monsoon.

- Best bars based for fun (but not quality of woman) based solely on vibe. Q bar, Golden Nile, Monsoon. YMMV.

- Decided NOT to use the street vendors Cialis / Viagra, (as results have been mixed) went with ANDROS you can get this at Mason drug no prescription needed, cost for 100mg box of 5 is 2000p. Yes more expensive, but high quality, and great results.

I have been in AC the past few days. Bars appear to be busy with lots of girls. I don't stay up late nor do I visit many bars and have my pick by 9pm and back to my hotel. So I can't comment on late action or the different bars. But no problem with inventory or selection. Girls do have family on their minds but really can't do anything but to wait it out like everyone else. News have been slow to come out. CNN Anderson Cooper got to ground zero before the Philippine's relief team (s). Also it makes no sense for anyone to go to ground zero to look for a relative, so the girls are here.
