the 60's and 70's I remember
In the 60"S you had LSD, people jumping off buildings thinking they can fly?
Really? That LSD flying off buildings thing is such a 60's cliché. I remember WindowPane. I went to see the Jefferson Airplane and Quicksilver Messenger on Windowpane. Had a great time. I am sure a few idiots went that way, but statistically they were a misc colorful footnote in annals of drug history.
The major cause of death back then was from intravenous drug overdose of Meth, Heroin or Heroin/Cocaine combos. You could get prescriptions for Meth Amphetamine back in the 60's and pick the shit up at Walgreens.
Most of the drug related deaths that I personally know of came from getting stoned on Heroin, Ludes, and or Booze and getting behind the wheel of a car. Luckily, I escaped relatively unharmed from a few of those kinds of situations where friends were driving. One head on, which was totally my friend's fault broke my nose. In another accident, another friend passed out at the wheel and drove his Ford Van off the road and down a 30 ft gulch in remote Guatemala. Miraculously we all walked away from that one although the half English / half Venezuela girl we were travelling with had a few head lacerations from being thrown through the front windshield of the van. Ah those were the days! Drugs, sex, adventure, stupidity and great music. No Internet, no condoms, and no HIV. I never paid for sex back then and I got laid a lot in Costa Rica and Colombia.
That's the 60's and 70's I remember.
