Numbers higher than I thought. 16 new cases of reported aids per day. 1. 5 million reported infected. 15,000 reported deaths annually.

According to that article 2. 3% of Thais have aids or hiv. That is a pretty hard statistic to believe. It would be hard for, me to believe that big a percentage of working girls yet alone the whole population. Or am I misreading it?

Seems to match mine fairly closely, except my number of non P4P might be typically higher by 1 these days. I suspect most sexually active guys would arrive at that number of different girls in a two week period in a farang area of Thailand unless they lived with a girl who kept close tabs on them.
And, truth be told, I have little doubt that if I tried your method I would achieve even more CIM endings than I do.
In fact, I'm sure if I said nothing about it, didn't "ask permission" and "held her down" at the point of penetration I would probably get a whole lot more BBFS than I do already, which isn't too bad a number as it is without doing it that way. Most numbers are estimates.
Remember that numbers are people that have mostly had Aids for a long time. New reported cases drops, but people having it long time, are dying less quickly than before, so total numbers can increase. The ones with Aids are just not going away unless they die, as almost zero are reported to be cured.
Aids (new cases) was on decline for many years, so that means people for a while may have been getting slightly more careful. Bear in mind, that gays and drug users will be a high proportion of the total, but still plenty of unlucky girls whether hookers or not. Used to be many rural house wives got Aids from their husbands. Every village has kids where both parents died of Aids already. Girls doing BBFS with large numbers of customers or dates for many years are almost bound to catch it eventually. The luck has to run out.
Girls doing it only with regular tested guys with a recent negative certificate run a lot less risk.
Guys tend to go blissfully thinking it is hard to catch from a girl with normal sex practices, however some will be caught out. Better with a hooker who has a recent test certificate too.
Personally I don't go looking for BBFS with lots of new girls just met. Consider ways to reduce your odds, till is more likely you will be struck by lightning or killed in an accident. Aids is not the only risk. Some STDs are caught very easily.

Perhaps for a presumed greater good. But the breakdown for the vast majority of people having sex in Thailand, even P4P sex in Thailand, would likely be far less alarming than it reads here.

How are they defining "sexual intercourse" in this study? Is it as it appears in many dictionaries, "Sexual contact between individuals involving penetration", which could include anal intercourse and oral intercourse? Or is it as it appears in other dictionaries; intercourse for the purpose of procreation, which confines it to penile-vaginal sex? I am sure they have the breakdown for how many men likely acquired HIV as the result of penetrating a vagina vs their own anus being penetrated by another man's penis. And for how many co-factors existed such as not being circumcised or having an open sore on their penis during incidence of vaginal sex. Then why not publish them or give links to where you can read about it?
They don't even break it down between how many women acquired it "through sexual intercourse" vs how many men got it that way. But they could. And, BTW, how many cases of HIV infections showed up in Bangkok vs the rest of the country anyway? I mean, as long as they're citing that 80% figure for "sexual intercourse" transmission in Bangkok, why not tell us what that 80% figure is based on? Actually, one might conclude from this report that the vast majority of HIV transmissions they're talking about here were via needles and not through "sexual intercourse", but since they do have enough cases of it being transmitted sexually in Bangkok to be statistically significant, why not cite that 80% figure.
The vast majority of men having sex in Thailand as in the rest of the world would be vaginal intercourse with some oral genital contact accompanying it. Very rarely would receptive anal sex, taking it up their own butt, be on the menu for most men. I would guess that is true of almost every man reading these threads on this site. The more detailed studies for likely transmission show that it is very difficult and rare for a man to acquire HIV through vaginal intercourse and practically unheard of through oral sex, either giving or receiving. Yet we might read these kind of articles and our minds conjure up images of 16 dudes just like us being told by a nurse in some clinic in Bangkok and Pattaya each and every day of the year that they must have gotten HIV from going bareback with Noy or Nam a few months ago. Not hardly.
These are just some interesting facts to reflect on.

5. 15 of the total 36 negative comments come from one user.
6. And another 12 of the 36 negative comments, come from a second user.
7. So if my math is correct 27 of the 36 or 75% of the negative comments about me, come from just 2 people.
8. The second post in "Stupid Shit in Thailand" was made by me, Monkeypaw as says ". I guess every board needs a troll or two that just complains or tries to tell others what to do and their opinion that they think counts. ".
9. I have yet to quarrel or argue with anybody in this thread.

Some dudes read that stuff and they either think there is something drastically wrong with them for not getting such results so readily or they are so disappointed they dump the whole idea of ever returning to Thailand. Assuming they are choosing girls they actually want to have sex with and not pathetic souls who must either go along with anything and everything or starve in the next couple of hours. Guys who had a pretty active sex / date life back in Blighty, a life most of the other guys would be envious of as far as sex / dating was concerned.
When these naturals, with their experience and confidence come here, their experience will be quite different from that of Joe Average who may have dated one or two Sara Averages during a span of several years in Blighty.
