Rants, Stupid Shit and Coronavirus in Thailand

I definitely would not recommend going to Thailand unless you are vaccinated. I am vaccinated and so I am going. Bars will be closed for a long time. That means I may have to look for ladies working on the street. I am not too excited about bringing strangers to my condo, so I will be using short time hotels, which I have never done.

The good news is that Pattaya will be dead, and the few Farangs that have hung in there for the last year are mostly luvved up with a Thai lady and don't do so much mongering these days. Bad for the ladies, good for me. I will be happy to save some ladies from starvation.

Thailand vaccine rollout is very slow, just now doing hospital workers who have direct patient contact. I'm not sure if the well publicized Phuket sandbox vaccinations have actually started. They needed 70% of Phuket residents vaccinated by July to open the Phuket sandbox. I don't know the status of the Thai manufacture of the Astra Zeneca vaccine.

There are calls to lock down everything soon. Up until 2 days ago the cases were around 1500 per day, which is manageable at a stretch, was forecast to have 7 days capacity into future at any one time. Thailand has a policy that anyone that tests positive gets put in a hospital, Hospital (special hotel leased by government) or field hospital. This policy is aimed at quarantine as well as mentoring the individuals health. Once cases hit 2839 Saturday and 2438 Sunday this system will be over capacity in a few days. The system is already starting to have issues with a small number of people not being available to find a hospital and dying, probably unnecessarily at home or admitted to late.

They are going to have to lockdown or change the way they handle cases. The health system is good in Thailand, particularly if you have money, not so much if you do not have $. There is not the surge capacity of a western country though.

The vaccine rollut has just started. About a million people have been jabbed. Apparently 6 million locally produced Astra Zeneca shots will be available in June, but every country has missed their official start date so maybe July? There should be enough shots to vaccinate everybody by years end. Thailand needs 100 million shots for an estimate 50 million people that will get jabbed (the total population 70 million. Not everyone will get jabbed). Half shots will be from Astra Zeneca, 1/4 by sinovac, the rest by sputnik & Pfizer. The Pfizer vaccine apparently will be administered by private Hospitals at 2000 to 3000 Baht per shot. Only HiSo locals and expats with cash will be able to afford or have access to that. The sinovac will probably be replaced by extra Astra Zeneca. Sinovac has major issues with efficacy and while better than nothing isn't anywhere nearly as good as the others.

1. Things could improve in the future.

2. As much dog shit it was, someone like Duckman was enticed to buy drinks. Someone who claimed to have been to Pattaya, imagine the 100,000's of those men who have never been.

3. It only takes 1/2 or 1/3 of the better lookers to go online and it will be a dramatic effect on the scene.

4. No need to look past onlyfans / twitch where legions of socially awkward incels allow skimpily clad women to make incomes that allow them to retire after a few years. There are guys who are seasoned mongers who have admitted to paying 20-30 dollars for naked pics and clips. Imagine those who have never been, and what they would be willing to pay for.

There were business who scoffed at Amazon when it was a online bookstore now.

I didn't recognize where they filmed the first movie even though I've stayed multiple times on soi 20, actually I thought that they went to film in Pattaya for the red light district and made it look like soi Cow boy.

Yes Thailand seems to be associated with a dangerous place in some of the stories, there was also the movie "always" where the guy has to make a dangerous trip in Thailand. That movie is great but the first part is very romantic while the action starts on the second part.

There was only an explanation in my reasoning to why I did what I did, an empathy metaphor with dog meat, clarification of words and terms, and lastly playing the devil's advocate against myself. Staying here this long (14 months or so now) in Thailand, Monkeypaw gets bored. So I often find ways to occupy myself. I've said it over and over again, I don't come from money, but actually lots of power. And where is this power found? It's always in the mind, not so much in the wallet (but a little cash does help). If you've seen the Matrix, Monkeypaw is like Neo. It's as if I awoken again and again, whenever I find these little gems and glitches in life. Call it lucky, call it smart, or just call it Monkeypaw being guided by a force much greater than anything humans may even really know. Thank God that force is good. So my favorite store to shop for food and get it delivered is near Jomtien at Tops Daily (Kong Hanumarn), near the Immigration office.

But you got to play the game right. When I was a kid, playing hooky from kindergarten, I was at an arcade and figured out how to get free games on the machines with a paper clip. At the same arcade, there was a small vending machine that had malfunctioned and was spitting out 3 selections: Snickers, Coca Cola, and Lays Chips. All without having to pay anything. There was only a few available selections though. The biggest mistake of my 5 year old life was to tell my older sister and her friends of my discovery, who then raided the machine until nothing but Cornuts and TAB were left. The manager of the arcade caught on and when I went back, his beady creepy eyes were all over me, and the vending machine was fixed.

For almost 8 months now, I've pretty found a way to get almost free groceries from this store and many others. Do I want to share my secret? No, not really. I learned my lesson with the vending machine and the arcade. Get all your fill, then some more, and then let them perhaps figure it out on their own, that all of our connections to the force are not the same. But there is nothing wrong with this Jedi giving you a hint for two. And the Paw always leaves enough clues if you read carefully and understand some of the code in the writing or pics. Some will get it, others will be baffled. Some will get upset, while others will cheer. It's all about how much of that noggin is available for use. And no, I don't feel guilty when it comes to beating the system. Cheap Charlie, Smart and Savvy, or Smooth Criminal?
