Can anyone out there tell me which is better, the Asia Hotel or the Riverside? I've checked both web sites and the Riverside appears to be slightly nicer from the standpoint of room furnishings, and it's gotten slightly better reviews on the sites that I visited at least. This is my first trip to Cambodia and it's strictly R&R, so I want to make sure that where I stay is reasonably comfortable, safe, and within striking distance of the better hunting grounds.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The riverside hotel is nicer than the Asia hotel.

As for Happyman the girls definatley go. I have been with five of the girls there, at times I have been with three girls at a time with a mate so I can say that they are not shy and good performers also. Same goes for girls at 136 although there are girls there that dont go. Dont be shy just ask them straight up even before you buy them the first drink. Just because a Cambo girl rides in a car dosen't mean she cannot still be a sex worker.
She could be sponsored by someone and still look for some extra cash.
Maybe X.0 club girls are charging high premiums for their services and can afford a semi luxury lifestyle. Not every girl going into X.0 club had a car, but rather there were 3-4 girls in a car.

Yes most of the are. They charge from $20 to $50.

There is more than one XO club as well, but most are the same.

I don't know the Queen Hotel or the DR club. Where are we talking about? What streets? (cross streets is a good way to give location in PP, not just one street since usually they run such a long distance)

I was in Phnom Penh for a week in March, and again for most of the month of May. I have a friend who lives there, and he informed me what the prices should be, as I had not been in almost 5 years. I found him to be dead on with the prices, so I am going to share them here. Keep in mind that these are not asking prices, these are the actual prices you can bargain them down to--in other words, the same prices a Khmer would pay. The keys to getting these prices are simple, and will also work in other cities in Asia and Latin America:
1) Never, ever, ever, ever, ever ask how much. Tell them the price you will pay--and don't try to low ball and think you will bargain up. This will just make them think you don't know the real price.
2) When you tell them the price, make sure your tone and body language indicate that you assume the price will be accepted and are just verifying this. Don't ask questioningly, or stand there waiting for agreement as if you expect a counter offer. State the price and then just go on as if the price has already been accepted, whether this means getting on the back of the motorcycle, into the tuk-tuk, walking with the girl toward the room, etc.
3) Walk away. I had to do this fully 50% of the time. In 90%-95% of the cases the seller followed me and either agreed to my price or came down from his previous low--and then eventually agreed to my price.
4) Don't get angry
5) Set the price first; don't take the service and then pay at the end. Yes, that technique will work, but it will very often result in real anger, as the driver or girl was probably thinking they were going to get an inflated tourist price the whole time, and now feels cheated.
6) Whenever possible, use the same driver regularly. You will never have to bargain after the second time, and usually not after the first.
7) It helps to say the price in Khmer, as that indicates you are not a newbie.

The prices I regularly paid:

Motodop to/from anywhere in the Riverside/Walkabout/Psar Tmai(sp?) area: 2000 Riels max, 1000 Riels for short rides, even if it is you plus a girl on one bike (my friend is over 350 pounds/160 kilos and also gets this price, so anyone can.)

Motodop to/from anywhere in the Riverside/Walkabout/Psar Tmai to Martini: $1. Coming back, if you have stayed late and there is a shortage of rides, you might have to pay more, but not over $1.

Tuk-tuk to/from anywhere in the Riverside/Walkabout/Psar Tmai(sp?) area: $1 max, 2000-3000 Riels for short rides. Some friends insisted that they were unable to get one below $1.50 because they were a group of 4 guys (2 of whom were pretty hefty), even after walking away, but I can't verify this personally. I know that 3 of us got tuk-tuks for $1 the next day with no problem. The only place I could not get this price regularly was on the corner next to Angkor International Hotel--so I just walked a block either direction to find a driver who would accept it.

Tuk-tuk to/from anywhere in the Riverside/Walkabout/Psar Tmai to Martini: $1.50. Coming back, if you have stayed late and there is a shortage of rides, you might have to pay more.

Tuk-tuk from the airport to your hotel in the central or riverside areas: $3 if you get it outside the fence, and I suspect they will go even lower, as it took less than 30 seconds negotiating to get this price.

Tuk-tuk from Walkabout to American embassy: $1.50

Tuk-tuk for more than about 4 hours: $2 per hour. This is for constant driving, such as when you are going out to a village and back. If it is a little bit of driving and a lot of waiting, such as when bar hopping, you can get it cheaper--but in that case it is generally cheaper and easier to just get a new tuk-tuk at each stop, unless you are really lazy, disabled, or it is raining.

Note: In extremely heavy rain or flooding, you may have to add 1000-2000 Riel to any and all of the above prices.

ST in any Viet house on St. 63, 154, etc: $5 (When one pimp said no, the price had gone up to $10, I just said "Oh, sorry, I did not know, I'll go somewhere else" and the price immediately came back down to $5 before I got 5 feet away)

ST in Walk About or Martini: $10

LT in hostess bar or Martini: $20, although I may have paid $25 in Zanzibar. I can't remember.

On a slightly related note, I firmly believe that damn near every (like 99.9%) non-virgin girl in every hostess bar who is not the owner's girlfriend does go with customers for money--but some are a lot pickier about who they go with, or only go when rent is due, at the end of the night, etc. This even applies to Shanghai, where only about 10% regularly go, but where several girls who vehemently insisted they were not hookers admitted to me that yes, they would sleep with customers they liked or whom they thought might be potential boyfriends, and yes, they expected to be given money the next morning. Still, in their view that did not make them prostitutes!?!?

I did find it MUCH easier to get some of the ice-princess superstar type hostess bar girls to agree to go with me when the bars were getting ready to close than early in the night.

I'll be back again in about a week, so if anything has changed I'll report it here.

I don't say this to provoke, as I've been a buyer in those same shops myself, even in this past year. I just wonder: how can these places be selling these drugs so much cheaper than they're available elsewhere? They're somewhat higher priced in Bangkok, and much higher priced almost anywhere else.

I can see how the explanation for the Indian knockoffs would make sense, but how could they be selling the Pfizer and Eli Lilly originals at such low prices? One possibility there is that they're counterfeit of course, but I'm actually open to hearing what explanation otherwise there might be, if anyone claimed they're legit, and judging how plausible that explanation sounds.

I want to believe, I really do. ;)

I have to say I bought that super-cheap Cialis in PP and it has worked very well.
