Where is SM in MOA? Or, I never thought I would use a SOGO hotel
My GF was working her bakery job. I was staying in Makati, and thought I would go to Mall of Asia (MOA) for a while. I had an old number of a girl, it was still in service, and she agreed to meet me at MOA. She lives in Laguna, had worked at EDSA. I asked her to meet me in SM. If you have been to MOA, you know how big the damn SM store is and cannot miss it, right? This girl could not find SM. Of course, I thought she was kidding, but no, she was truly "stuck" at National Book Store and I had to go find her. It seems that directions are not the strong suit of any Filipina I have met.
But, the story had a happy ending. As you know, traffic is always jammed, so no sense going all the way back to my hotel in Makati, so I made use of a SOGO for the first time. As I recall, it was the one across from EDSA. Paid 600+ pesos for 4 hrs. Spartan room, but mirrors on wall and ceiling. Staff there never bothered to really look at me or her. Took the cash, gave me the key. No register, no names. Air con was a bit cold, there were no controls for temp or fan, but what the heck. TV worked. Never thought I would ever use a SOGO hotel, but in this case, thanks to this forum, I was able to save the day.
