Hi,

Returned to US after 10 days in AC. It is my 7th trip in 7 months to AC this year.

Few pointers for those want recent info

1. Christmas Crowd was very very less. Think about Dollhouse running empty that is house it has been for few days. It is such a thin crowd overall.

2. For some reason, Bar names are changing. Don't get surprised if you don't find your favorite bar. It is the same bar with same owner and manager. They are changing the names. One Eye Witch and Typhoon has changed the names to some thing like Manson or some thing else.

3, My fav, bar "Players" is closed. Few girls moved to Q Bar. That place is going to be restaurant looks like. We certainly need some good food in AC. Hope this new place will fill in well. 4. Party Animal is normal. Ranges from 1800 to 3000 peso

5. Lollipop is has pumped up their line up. Surprise to see some new good looking faces

6. As always Q Bar is full and entertaining

7. Be mindful of the Fields Ave. Road construction is going on as I left on 25th. So walking with pointed shoes will be a challenge.

8. It is very hot there.

9. Few new bars are planned to be open. One being the remodeled Dollhouse hotel I was told for niche customers

In general good to see AC is still keeping up with all fun and entertainment in spite of resent events in Oct / Nov.

I booked my first ever trip to Ph.

Leaving Sat 28th. One day to go. Can not wait.

Ok, from a lot of research, here is what I have planned.

Would love to get advice from regular punters.

28th. 31st in Manila, Ermita. Not sure of too many places

To go there, haven't really planned anything for the first night, but second day, will plan to go to that Amour disco place. Lots of advice required here.

31st, Am going to try to get to AC. Not sure the best way, maybe Bus.

AC seems to offer what I planned the trip for, lots of bar hopping and hopefully barfines and lots of picture to post on here.

I've only booked till 2nd and was thinking of somehow getting down to Subic Bay. Please advise here, is it worth me mucking around with travelling and wasting time to get to different locations or should I just concentrate on the numerous bars in AC for my first trip.

You help and guidence is appreciated.

You can definitely find a place in Angeles cheaper than that, I know of a reasonably nice place for $450 a month close to where I am now that does month to month, you can knock $40ish a month off if you want to sign a lease and could also probably negotiate down, and if you want to rent unfurnished in a more Philippino neighborhood can get for under $300.

I'm just pointing out that there are plenty of ways to eat cheaply here, and ramen really isn't that bad if you space out how often you have it.

If you want a pool you are going to have to go to a different nicer hotel, walk in like you are a guest and they probably won't stop you, if they do just order a drink and they will let you swim, and there is a decent gym with aircon way way down perimeter for 1500ish a month.

I wouldn't come in with any hard and fast "no live in girlfriend. 3 days in a row max" rules. When I first moved to asia I really was afraid of falling in love after reading up on many boards for months so I had sort of the same rules, mine was actually a don't see the same girl more than 2 days in a row, but after being here a month I realized that I'm cold as ice, don't need to have that fear, and routinely see the same girls over and over if they are worth it.

I've never had a live in girlfriend here and don't ever plan on doing it so I can understand you not wanting that, all I'm saying is just be flexible in your thinking.

Except that generally a girls bar name isn't necessarily related to her real name. Altho Gladys hardly has the same ring as the " Heaven" " Princess" Tiffany" "Krystal " and other more common bar girls names. Me. I have my own bar name too, always ready for the " Hi whats your name " question.

Yes there are some. Annual premiums for entry level programmes start at about P 20, 000 per year.

Thanks[/QUOTE]I'll give you some AC advice buddy. It's cheaper and more fun than Manila in my opinion. Probably others living in Manila have more informed opinions and advice, so I'll just stick to transport in Manila.

From Manila you can get a bus to AC pretty easily. The local aircon buses are around 150pp from Cubao bus station and it arrives at Dau bus station (2+ hours depending on traffic, could be quicker). From Dau you could take a trike to fields ave for 50-70pp or take a jeepney for 8pp to the fields area. (it stops at a park near fields, walk towards McDonalds and you'll see fields Ave). Fields Ave is the main bar street and for a first timer you'll spend your time there. If you are adventurous just continue down the street and there are lots of bars in what is called the perimeter road area.

You can also use the FLY THE BUS service or the SOUTHERN CROSS SHUTTLE SERVICE from Manila. FLY THE BUS leaves the swagman hotel in Manila at 1130am-330pm-830pm daily for 600pp. They'll take you to their hotel / travel agent in AC. From there you can get a trike to fields for 50-70pp.

The SOUTHERN CROSS SHUTTLE departs the southern cross hotel in Ermita at 330pm and takes you to orchid Inn in AC. (this hotel is in a great location for mongering, the standard rooms are a little tired, but adequate). I think it is 600pp, but you can google them and see for yourself.

Both those 2 bus companies also run buses to subic for around 500pp. Any hotel worth its salt can organize a bus ticket for you. Or any travel agent, of which there are many around AC.

As far as if you should bother with Subic or not. IMHO nup. The beach isn't that spectacular and neither are the bars. The sensory overload of your first trip to AC should be enough for a first timer.

My advice for AC is:

- Make sure you tell the girl what you expect from them in bed BEFORE you barfine them, so as not to be disappointed later. While some just say yes to everything, I find that when I have asked, I have received. (of course don't ask her in front of everyone!)

- If you want CIM BBBJ, some girls will not be up for that. But, if you go to A-Santos street or blow-row as its so aptly named, you won't be disappointed. The small bars behind Orchid Inn will also meet your needs. On perimeter, the Matrix Braun and the 3 (or 2 now?) bars around form Garfields are also BJ bars. (FYI A-Santos street is the long street that runs off fields ave directly opposite the Lancelot bar and has KoKoMos and Rhapsody on the corners. Walk 1 minute down the road and the bars are on your right and have rooms).

Other than that, getting laid in AC is about as challenging putting on a pair of socks.

I'm in a condo where we have to pass a security guard to enter the complex before entering the lobby where the front desk staff is. Then it's wait for an elevator and board. Often with neighbors, most of whom are Filipino. I see the same faces often enough and I'm sure they note the different faces with me. I also spend much of my leisure time at the pool, often with a girl.

When meeting new girls I always do so at a major landmark next to my condo. I've been there often enough that the guards there greet me every time I walk by. :p

For girls who've been to my place often enough I no longer meet them outside. They just walk to the front desk, hand over an ID, and the guy calls my unit. I've had a few girls tell me the front desk clerks are gossips. For instance a few months ago a girl dropped by uninvited at 1030pm and asked whether I was in. The guy told her I was in my unit with another girl. LOL. Gee, thanks! I spoke to the condo manager and requested he inform them to limit their actions to simply calling my unit and answering "I don't know," for everything else.

Anyway, I feel there's a bit too much sensitivity by those who fret about the "walk of shame". Enjoy your place. Enjoy your girl. Enjoy the Philippines.

I go to PI twice / year. The first night I spend in Manila. The next day I go to a place for scuba diving that I haven't been to before. I leave there and go stay in AC for a couple of days for my flight back to Thailand. I couldn't go to PI just to wonder around AC bars. There are different strokes for different folks though. A member summed it up perfectly in the Dominican Republic thread earlier today. Like him, mongering is not my primary reason for traveling to a place.

Just FYI, most of the girls (not all) family know about their girls working in AC. Please note that in many communities, working in AC is not considered taboo as we think in USA. It is another profession where they work hard and earn money, mostly for their family. If you travel in Samar, many villages you will see this is an accepted profession even though it is not talked about in dinner table.

In spite of my rationale and the reason to find a girl I like, you have a very valid point. I agree with you. My mistake. If I know how to remove my post or some one let me know, I will remove it.
